The guide- Matt was very good and knowledgeable about the history of Both Jamestown and Yorktown,. The tour was a perfect blend of tour guide lead and free time to explore the area, museums ect. Lunch was included and it was good . The bus tour was new, clean and well maintained.

If you love history, this is the tour for you. Our driver/guide Matt was an endless source of information and stories. All delivered at an easy pace and incredible insights to the various monuments and statues. The bus was comfortable and the historic sites are awesome. The lunch at Jamestown was basically a cafeteria. I would highly recommend this tour.

I thoroughly enjoyed the tour. The guide was excellent. All the information he provided was interesting and he is a very good speaker. He was never boring, he never just spouted off facts and figures (which would have been dull) but made the history come alive and even did it with some humor which was great! The tour moved along at a nice pace. I felt we spent enough time at each stop to really see and experience it. Not at all the tours fault, but the battlefields at Yorktown were the least interesting. Other than one redoubt, it was unimpressive. I would have liked to have time at the Visitor Center there for more than just a restroom stop. I like to look at exhibits and gift shops at those centers. The lunch we had was great. I love that we had the option to choose what we wanted. It also was not rushed, we actually had time to eat.

Very easy to book. The pickup point was easy to find and parking abundant. The bus was amazing. It was clean, comfortable and air conditioned. The guide/driver was simply great. Matt was on time, courteous and a book of knowledge. He had a great sense of humor and it felt as though we were students on a field trip. Matt got the people involved like a school field trip. The time flew by. Lunch was included and a good lunch it was. All in all this tour was well worth it.

This was truly an excellent experience. Matt offered personal and professional perspectives on every aspect of the history of Jamestown and Yorktown. His narration was humorous and sincere, raising important questions as he “taught” us to think about some curious and interesting facts about that period of time. I learned a lot and had fun discovering the past. I would not hesitate to recommend this tour. It had it all, including a delicious lunch and very comfortable bus ride. You will learn more about American history than you thought possible. It was a long, full day with equal parts bus ride and walking. Matt was phenomenal and we cannot imagine how he remembers all that history.

He spent time at each stop on our Jamestown/Yorktown tour to explain the history beyond that of what was on a wall. If you ever have time to take this tour, we would highly recommend having Matt as your tour guide.

Comprehensive tour of the historic triangle. Matt was very knowledgeable, patient and affable throughout the day. It didn’t hurt that he is a Williamsburg native and former schoolteacher! A LOT of history and information to absorb…. Very nice to have lunch included, as well as ample time to explore sites independently.

This all day tour of Jamestown and Yorktown is full with so much information in chronological order. We were met by Matt and the bus and started our day. Matt is more than informative, he makes you think! The tour includes 2 museums with a full lunch. Matt is a born and bred Williamsburg resident with lots of his own history. I highly encourage this tour if you want to know in-depth about the American Revolution in Virginia.

This was a fantastic trip back in history. Matt, our guide, was wonderful. His knowledge of the Revolutionary War and life in early America was exceptional and his personality and wit made the whole tour a college worthy learning experience. This trip is definitely a “must do” for those who love American history.

This was a great trip Matt who is our guide was very knowledgeable about the area and about the history of this place. It was a small group and a new vehicle and the weather was perfect. I would recommend this trip to anyone who enjoys history.

Well paced and informative. The tour was led by Matt who was welcoming and knowledgeable. He went out of his way to make everyone feel involved and happy. The lunch was a surprising plus. Tasty and the team worked fast to serve us.

Weather was not great. Tour was amazing. Matt made the experience meaningful in spite of high winds and rain. Inspiring through the voice of someone who lives the history and is proud to share it.

Matt was great, very knowledgeable and professional. He was friendly and made an effort to talk to all of us. He’s a local so he has been surrounded by all this history from childhood. Rain in Yorktown put a damper on things but he was calm and still passed on the history of the battle and surrender. The museums are top notch and very well organized. It was great to move through ttime from 1607 to 1781!

Well, all I can say is this tour is well worth the money. Our driver believing his name was Jerry was amazing. Well spoken and funny. He made the tour well worth the trip. Even though it rained the whole time he did the best he could to accommodate us. I give two thumbs up make that four my wife says two of hers. The lunch that you get included in this tour was actually really good and plentiful.

Our guide, Matt, is a former teacher, with long local family connections to the Jamestown/Willamsburg area. He is laconic, drole, very knowledgeable, languid and drives beautifully in a brand new coach. The Jamestown Settlement Museum is fabulous, and where we had our lunch, but he didn't take us on to Jamestown Island, which we chose to do the next day independently, and shouldn't be missed.

And he shared the stories and histories of Jamestown and Yorktown with passion. His training and experience as a teacher and personal skill with humor are traits we enjoyed. He shared an overview of the day, created suspense and anticipation along the way, and entertained with humor throughout the day. His personal research and anecdotal insight from generations of relatives added to his presentation. This is such impactful, meaningful history! And Matt makes it come alive! He seizes the opportunity on the bus traveling to sites to share interesting information and back stories. And he provides a very good balance of guided touring and ample free time to explore. The lunch at Jamestown was great too — lots of options. Thank you for such a memorable tour, leading us through the events resulting in the birth of America and at a reasonable cost! AMAZING full day tour! Matt was so knowledgeable and made our experience so memorable. He showed a genuine interest in being sure we all understood the history of Jamestown and Yorktown and engaged us in the conversation. He was also very kind and personable; a true asset to your company! We were pleasantly surprised at the lunch as well with so many delicious options! The entire day was a wonderful experience. Matt has so much knowledge to share and because he is from the area, some of his personal touches added to the experience. We learned things that history books and films don’t take or have the time to explain. Matt is a great historian that adds a little humor into the trip. Would highly recommend this experience.

The tour started on time, and the tour guide was very knowledgeable, kind and efficient. It was fun to meet the other guests on the tour as well. The bus was air conditioned, very comfortable and roomy. We very much enjoyed the museums and other sites of interest that had been arranged for us. Lunch was provided, offering a variety of selections. We think the admission fee was well worth it, and very reasonable for the all-day excursion. We would definitely recommend this tour to friends and family.

Well, what can we say, Matt was our guide and most reading this will nod and know where we are coming from. A really comfortable and seemingly brand new bus took us to our trip, starting at Jamestown then to Yorktown, Matt was guiding us with information left and right throughout, he was a mine of information. Both towns and sites and sights were superb, each one being explained by Matt in great detail. In the Museums he guided us, set the scenes and left us to visit at our own pace and likes. We had the 'included in the trip' (and we chose the) traditional Colonial lunch, both of us the stew, me starting with the peanut soup and wife finishing with a gigantic piece of carrot cake (had to assist with the obligatory 'third'). All washed down with unlimited sodas. To say the stew was excellent is not to do it justice, it was everything; fellow travellers chose other dishes, some beige and to be fair and with food envy, the pulled pork looked really good too. Portions were for a 'growing lad' and not stingy. We had a wonderful, safe and long day with a lovely group of fellow travellers; we were the two British representatives among lovely US folk. Some great swapping of tales about how each country is run/set up and much banter about topical things too, lovely people. There was too much to see to be specific, lets just say we werent disappointed - you can just leave the car at the car park and jump the bus. Final word about our guide Matt, thanks very much, he is a really nice person as well as an excellent, professional and proud Virginian and Guide.

This tour is a must do! Our guide & driver Matt is fantastic! He keeps everyone engaged the entire day. Talks to everyone & makes them feel comfortable. He grew up in Williamsburg, so his knowledge is infinite! He explains everything very well & the of course the history is fascinating! Lunch is amazing too! Excellent day trip! Be ready to go back in time!

Matt was our guide. We learned so much from him and enjoyed listening to everything about the history of the area. He was great! We also went to two fabulous museums in both Yorktown and Jamestown. The air conditioned bus was new and so comfortable. Probably one of our best tours yet! Highly recommend!!
