Lonnie is a Colonial Williamsburg retiree who used to give their official ghost story tours. The official ones were sold out, so I was lucky to book Lonnie’s tour and have only 5 people on it. He told some great stories and enabled me to take a photo with two ghosts in the same window of the Peyton Randolph House! Unforgettable!

Excellent tour, wife and I really enjoyed the knowledge and easy pace of both the guide and tour itself. Learned a lot, about history, and mystery.. Highly recommend!!!
Lonnie is a great storyteller and historian. We enjoyed both his ghost stories and the historical background
This was great family fun! Our guide, Lonnie, has been a part of Williamsburg for decades and knows his stuff! We learned some very interesting history along with, of course, ghost stories! I very much prefer the smaller group size and interaction with our guide that we were able to experience.
We loved the history information that was included with the ghost stories. Lonnie was an engaging and knowledgeable storyteller.
William was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and presented history in a spooky, fun way. We would recommend him to anyone visiting the area.
I was very impressed by the knowledge and first hand stories by our guide. The tour was historic with just enough ghost stories to be entertaining as well.
Very informative and fun walk with ghost stories at every turn. A great night event!
The tour guide had a fun personality and a really nice local view point to the stories. My kids are 11+ they had a good time
We didn’t see any ghosts, but Lonnie was a great tour guide! We learned a lot and were entertained along the way.
Good stories but does not go inside any of the buildings. Lonnie is an excellent guide with years of connection to Colonial Williamsburg.
Very educational. Loved hearing about the history and being taken back in time. I also thought the length of time was perfect.
Lonnie was very good and entertaining. My sister and I had a wonderful time. We caught something in our camera a couple of places.
Lonnie was an amazing tour guide. He knew all about the buildings and stories. Great stories, I would recommend for adults and children who want to learn the scary part of Colonial Williamsburg.
Lonnie was a great guide. We were entertained the whole time. Lots of history sprinkled in and it was all captivating. The ghost stories were cool but I love that he also left us with more information about the area than when we started. If you want something more than spooky bs, Lonnie is the guy. Thanks so much!
Lonnie was fantastic! He was waiting for us when we arrived, he was extremely knowledgeable and it's clear he loves what he does. He was a phenomenal story teller - we thoroughly enjoyed Lonnie's ghost tour!
This was our first ghost tour and it was really fun! It was a highly interesting and entertaining hour. We learned allot of the history of Williamsburg and to a good overview of the entire area. Interesting ghost stories made it very egaging and fun.
We had a great time learning about the history and presence of ghosts during our tour at Colonial Williamsburg. This is our 3rd tour of the area, and we enjoyed some new stories!
We booked a Williamsburg Ghost tour with Lonnie in October 2025. Since it was a Monday night, it ended up just hubby and me on the tour. Lonnie had a very interesting tour planned, which we followed. However, as we were solo on the tour, he gamely answered all my many questions about all things Williamsburg as we walked from site to site. He is a retired CW employee and extremely knowledgeable. Would highly recommend booking with him.
Lonnie is a great story teller! We had a wonderful time. A lot of background information about the houses and people that lived in them. I grew up in Williamsburg and did not know about a lot of the tales associated with the buildings. A must do!
The guide was very good-professional, knowledgeable, and personable. Provided a lot of historical information as well as “ghostly “ accounts.
Our tour guide was very interactive and knowledgeable. Fortunately the weather cooperated and we had a great time. Would recommend.
Lonnie was fantastic and really made Colonial Williamsburg history come to life! He had the best stories and provided context for what we were seeing. Highly recommend!
Amazing storyteller!! Really enjoyed our tour with Lonnie and loved the history as well! Highly recommend
Wonderful tour with Lonnie. He is a great story teller and enjoyed his historical knowledge of the area. It was a lovely evening touring Colonial Williamsburg.
Really enjoyed the style and pace of Lonnie's tour - it flowed consistently travel wise, story wise, and you had some time to take photos, take a seat to hear a story, etc. Would definitely recommend!
You get a lot of history about Williamsburg that isn't in history books. The tour guide very knowledgeable about the ghost in Williamsburg. He really immersed us the culture of ghost stories and story telling. Must recommend and did get a picture of ghost peeking out of window.
Our guide was quite entertaining. We really enjoyed the history along with the ghost stories. You could tell he loves the town and its development through the years.
Lonnie showed up early and was ready to roll on time! Very witty, fun guide. Encouraged questions and told awesome stories. Enjoyed every minute of this tour!
boring tour....I wanted the tour to go into some of the homes!!!!!.. He was not dressed up....np lantern etc...........
Lonnie was a great storyteller. We went with a small group, and visited some interesting houses with stories. Overall, I was expecting just a little more, but it was a nice experience
This was a fun, informative tour of Williamsburg's different haunts. Guide was great, answered all questions and was very knowledgeable! Good for entire family.
Lonnie was a great tour guide who knew and shared many interesting stories of Williamsburg’s past history both good, bad and scary. A great story teller of a special place.
Our tour guide Lennie was awesome. He shared great stories and let us take as many photos as I wanted. I’m so glad he did because it wasn’t until later that I saw a few pictures with what looks like ghosts! I recommend using a video as well I caught a few orbs too! Thanks Lennie!
Lonnie was a great guide and storyteller. He not only had stories about Williamsburg’s haunted past but also information about the city’s architecture and history.
While it was nice to walk around Colonial Williamsburg by lamplight this tour was 100% underwhelming. Perhaps it was our guide, but there was a lot of "this other guide heard noises like..." Nothing particularly scary at all. Certainly not worth the amount I paid.
A very entertaining and occasionally a bit spooky walk while listening to some very interesting stories. Lonnie is a master storyteller and very knowledgeable. We were the only ones on the tour and that made the experience even better. Highly recommend
This tour was fun. The guide provided some interesting, although recent, ghost stories. I was expecting something a little more historical - that's what my previous ghost tours have been. I liked the personal touch, although it is harder to verify. I did get a picture of something, although it is hard to say what it is since we could not go inside the building to see what (if anything) was in the room. I do recommend this tour for a good time. It's a short tour and doesn't cover a lot of ground - maybe a 1 square block area.
Fun and interesting ghost stories and personal experiences with ghosts. Great fun with the family! Definitely recommend
Lonnie did a great job with the tour and had some great stories. Very interesting tales and wonderful historical perspective. I don’t believe in ghosts but he even gave me chills a couple of times with his renditions. We had teenagers who also enjoyed the tour very much. Would definitely recommend!
Booked the tour a few days in advance. The weather was sketchy, but we kept the reservation and we ended up being the only family on the tour. It was definitely worth it. Our guide was an excellent storyteller who had all sorts of information and several personal experiences to add to the tour. We were sad when the hour was up!
Anyway you visit colonial williamsburg will be richly rewarding. Start at the visitors center and just wander, entering as many open buildings as time permits.Try scheduling at least 2 days including an evening program.
Would highly recommend this ghost tour. Our guide,Lonnie was very knowledgeable about colonial Williamsburg. If you are looking for ghost tour that also includes a little history and is not”hokey “ this is it. Lonnie is a great storyteller. thoroughly enjoyed our evening .
We loved the stories and experiences of our guide. He was great! We got great pictures. Would consoling it again!
The tour was great and very informative. Would highly recommend, one of the best tours we have taken. Lonnie is a great guide.
Our guide was passionate about the town and the telling of the ghost stories. Made you feel like you are actually feeling them.
Our guide had so many stories! I loved that he encouraged us to take pictures. especially in certain areas. I did see a moving orb in front of one of the houses. My husband saw it too. We watched it for quite a while until I switched it video. Then it disappeared. Lots of spirits on those streets! I loved visiting at night!
Lonnie was a captivating tour guide. Because of the weather, we were the only guests on the tour last evening so Lonnie gave us a personal tour. His stories and knowledge of the park made this a terrific evening.
Lonnie was so enthusiastic and passionate about these stories. We really enjoyed hearing all the ghost stories and walking around the town. There was a perfect mix of history and ghost stories. I would definitely do this again!
Fun experience and a little spooky! Lonnie was a great tour guide and even had personal stories and pictures. Highly recommend this tour!
