You will taste a variety of good food while learning about the city. We visited five different restaurants. The walk isnt difficult even for someone who is 70. I would recommend this tour.

We had a great time. Taylor was a great you're guide. She knows a lot about the city, not just food, and we learned a lot. And the food was first rate. Highly recommend the experience.
Taylor was an amazing guide. The food was fantastic. We did have to walk a good clip, but it was worth it. I highly recommend!
Taylor was the best guide we have ever had. She was super knowledgeable and taught us things about Richmond we didn’t know….even though we have lived here for 13 years! She was a great communicator and we were able to sample foods from restaurants that have been in our list for years. Definitely recommend whether you live near Richmond or are out of town. An A+ experience all the way around!
Our tour guide Taylor was absolutely fantastic. She was informative and entertaining and my sisters and I really enjoyed spending three hours with her. We were really lucky to have just a small group with my two sisters and I. Taylor took us to six (!) different restaurants and the food was all fantastic and diverse. We would highly recommend the trip. Taylor’s engaging personality made it really special.
Taylor was great! It was a fun experience and all the food was great. Fun to learn more facts about richmond
Great food at each stop. For only five stops three hours was too long. Also we prefer that the end point be closer to the starting point for parking and other logistics. Overall a very good experience!
Taylor was a great guide and very helpful when we realized we had double booked. the food was great, I could have stayed at Mama J's that was the best food. The catfish was excellent. The wood fired pizza was delicious, and the fish tacos were great. To end with the wonderful Beignets yummy. Other than the rain and being wet it was a fun time.
Taylor was a fun, interesting and well informed guide! It is one of the best tours I have ever been on !
I had a phenomenal experience on this food tour! It was interactive, fun, and such a great way to explore the area while trying amazing food. Taylor was an incredible guide — friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience engaging from start to finish. Every stop had delicious food, and you could tell a lot of thought went into the tour. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a fun and memorable experience!
We enjoyed the food, the history and our very knowledgeable and friendly Tour Guide Taylor. Overall a great experience!
What a delightful evening. There wasn't a building, a restaurant, a historical event, a food dish or a local Richmond person that Taylor didn't have a story about. Nonstop chatter between delightful food. Truly a great way to learn more about Richmond and for our group of friends to enjoy each other's company. I would recommend it!
Taylor was a great tour guide! I came by myself and she went out of her way to check on me and to get to know me, while also connecting with other members of the group Taylor was really knowledgeable about Richmond and what all of the food was and what was in it. I’d definitely do another tour with Discover Richmond if I am ever back in Richmond.
This was so much fun! Our guide, Taylor, was informative and friendly. The group had a great time walking the art district and sampling each restaurant's best.
Fun tour of the Arts District in Richmond, the food was great. Taylor was knowledgeable and attentive.
Great food. Bad brick sidewalks. RVA, roots are a problem. Jeremy was a good guide. It was about a mile and half of walking.
Taylor was an A+ guide. Very knowledgable with the area and from personal experiences. Made us kaugh too. Highly recommend her. Food stops were good choices.
Taylor was so very smart about Richmond, and was super friendly. She made the food tour GREAT! Food was YUMMY, lots of good cHOICES!
Taylor our guide was so good, very knowledgeable of the area and the restaurants. Could explain all about the food, etc. Loads of energy and so nice. Liked the variety of food choices and tried things I never would have before. Highly recommend this tour.
Taylor was a great guide- very upbeat and informative! The 5 stops were great - a lot of different types of ethnic foods. We were so full after the tour that we never ate dinner that evening. I highly recommend this tour!
Taylor, our God, was excellent and very informative and interesting. She took us two restaurants that we wouldn’t have known about otherwise and everything was amazing.
Great food tour through Richmond with a very knowledgeable and funny guide! She hit it off with our daughters but was still very attentive with everyone. Pleasant food and highly enjoyable company
Taylor was the most amazing guide for our food tour! This was our 3rd tour through the same company and Taylor was hands down the best of all. Taylor shared so much history and information about Richmond and was so personable and full of energy. The food stops were wonderful!
We had a wonderful time on our food tour of the Arts District in Richmond. Taylor was our guide and she made us feel welcome from the first moment we arrived. She was filled with energy and very personable. She remembered everybody’s name and something about them…which I found very impressive. She also took time to talk with individuals as well as the whole group the entire time. We went to a great variety of places and had some great food! We also learned a lot about the area. We couldn’t asked for a more perfect day! We are already talking about going on another tour!
We had an awesome time on this tour!!Taylor was a great tour guide. Very knowledgeable of Virginia and Richmond history!! My wife and I had a great time celebrating our anniversary!!
Taylor was very informative and knew the area well. Even though I've lived here most of my live, she gave facts to items I never knew.
Our Art District tour with Taylor was so much fun- the perfect blend of delicious food, local history, and a bit of walking ( to make room for more food!). Taylor is very knowledgeable about the area and shared all sorts of history and stories about the buildings and businesses. She also has an excellent relationship with the restaurant owners, so they were all very welcoming and gave great service! We highly recommend the Art District tour!
Our guide was knowledgeable with the history of Richmond. I learned so much and enjoyed that since I've lived here my entire life. It was a great experience and I'm ready to do the other food tours!!!
Taylor was a great guide. Informative and very friendly. Food was great. Learned new things about Richmond which was great and not expected.
Six excellent eateries Taylor is an outstanding guide who provided historical information along the way. Our group was lively and fun
Taylor was a great guide. She knows a lot about the history of Richmond and a lot about the restaurant and chefs at each restaurant we stopped at. The food flavors were awesome. Highly recommend booking early if you're coming to Richmond. To guarantee your spot.
The most memorable part is that I had to deal with food allergies the whole time. Being told at booking that there would be no problems to end up with a possible 4 or of 6 places I might get to eat. I had to fight for getting to eat what I had paid for. The portions were small and not worth the money! Don't waste your money!!!
Our tour guide, Taylor, was energetic and very knowledgeable about interesting Richmond facts. We started in the art district at Lillie Pearl, and had our favorite sample, a delicious short rib, pimento cheese, and collard green eggroll. From there we went to an Ethiopian coffeehouse, which was our least favorite location. It was full of smoke, so several people needed to stay outside. Also, in that location we were approached twice by a drifter who interrupted the tour trying to interject commentary. Next favorite location was Sugar and Spice, a small hole in the wall bakery where we had a delicious passionfruit tart. Other favorites included Mam J’s catfish and colored greens, oysters at Rappahannock, and tacos at an AsianMexican fusion restaurant. The tour could be improved by re-ordering the food choices. Would have preferred to have saved the bakery and coffee to the end. All in all an enjoyable sunny November afternoon excursion. Thank you!
Taylor had so much information and she did a great good relating the food to the historical area. The restaurant choice was good and the experience was amazing. The tour has given me a better appreciation for my city. Go RVA!
Taylor was an excellent guide! She was well informed about each of the restaurants we visited, and about the history of the neighborhoods. The fried chicken and bread pudding at Buttermilk and Honey on Grace were amazing, as was the short rib egg roll at Lillie Pearl!
I thought that everything went well. The portions at Mama J's were very small, but I enjoyed it. Everything was really good. I loved it.
We would like more history and more talking to the whole group. The food, fir the most part, was just ok.
Very disappointing! Our tour guide, Sarah, was great! The food options were very blah! The first restaurant Lily Pearl was great but then it went downhill. Our next stop was an Ethiopian coffee shop. The was a soy o hospitality when we walked in. Very blah and basic. Our third stop was Mama’s, I think, had even less hospitality. We had to stand outside and eat standing up. The portions were so small and not good. The last two stop revived the tour somewhat.
The people were strange and so was our tour guide. Did not talk much. Most of the food was poor and would not ear it. Definitely NOT worth the $180 I spent for this. Never again.
Abbie was our guide and she was very knowledgeable and accommodating for any issues. She was able to have conversation with everyone in the group and make everyone feel comfortable.
Good food, great tour with good variety. Tour guide was friendly and very knowledgeable. Kept group members engaged.
I did the Arts District Food Tour on Saturday, May 25. Abby was our knowledgeable tour guide. She was amazing and made it so much fun! She gave us great information about not only the restaurants we visited, but about Richmond's history. I took this tour in preparation for writing a travel article about RVA, and she shared some great information that will be so helpful in writing the article. The food options were great and I can legitimately say I LOVED everything I ate in every one of these spots! Would love to do another tour!
Taylor is the best! We didn't just sample great food, we got a great tour of the area and so much history! Taylor is such a wealth of great info about architecture, the history of the city, the civil war - you name it! She was entertaining and fun. And the food was amazing.
Delicious sampling of local foods. Enjoyed walking through the city to the restaurants. Abbey was a great tour guide. We would absolutely do it again.
The guide Abby was wonderful, had a wealth of knowledge and information not only of the food scene but of Richmond too. The restaurants that we visited were all so different and unique. They were all flavorful and delicious. We would do another tour if and when we are in RVA again.
What a great experience this was! Abby was a personable, knowledgeable tour guide who devoted herself to making this tour especially enjoyable. Each restaurant/merchant offered something tasty and unique. We had the perfect chemistry of great weather, an easy walk, and a lively group to complement it all. My 3rd Discovery Tour and never disappointed.
Good conversations with strangers while tasting bites of delights. Walking was easy. Share your food allergies and/or needs before you arrive and they will have alternative for you prepared. 😉
Great tour, history and food. Abby was awesome. Very personable. She did a fabulous job and made the experience top notch.
Great and informative tour and excellent guide( although she talked a little too fast!). I would recommend this informative and delicious tour!
The food tour was great! It provided an excellent way to explore the city while indulging in delicious cuisine. Each stop offered mouthwatering dishes that showcased the culinary diversity of the area. Overall, a delightful experience filled with tasty treats and memorable sights. Highly recommended!
