My wife and I visited The Virginian for our Anniversary. We were blown away with the beauty of the hotel, the Rooftop restaurant and bar and the coffee shop. Top notch in every way. The location is perfect for exploring downtown Lynchburg and going to other restaurants, coffee shops and clubs, all within walking distance of the hotel. Stay here if you get a chance. Perfect for any special occasions you may have.

5-Star Luxury Stay – Highly Recommended! I recently had the pleasure of staying at this exceptional hotel, and it truly exceeded my expectations in every way. The rooms are exquisite, featuring elegant furnishings, premium linens, and thoughtful details that create a refined and comfortable retreat. The overall atmosphere is one of pure luxury, sophisticated yet welcoming, perfect for both business travelers and leisure guests. The on-site restaurant delivers delicious, high-quality cuisine with excellent service, making it a standout dining option without ever leaving the property. Room service was equally impressive, convenient for late nights or relaxed evenings in. What truly set this stay apart was the outstanding guest service. Johnathon, the Client Services Manager, went above and beyond, personally assisting with everything from small requests to even valeting my car himself. His professionalism and genuine care made me feel like a valued guest throughout my stay. The location is ideal, just a 10-minute walk to downtown, where you’ll find an abundance of restaurants and attractions to explore. For fitness enthusiasts, the 24/7 gym is well-equipped and nicely maintained, featuring dumbbells up to 75 pounds, two ellipticals, two exercise bikes, three treadmills, and a versatile cable pulley machine (functional trainer/crossover station). It’s one of the better hotel gyms I’ve encountered. Additional perks include pet-friendly accommodations, which made traveling with my dog seamless, and reasonable pricing. Parking is straightforward with self-parking at $12/night or valet at $17/night. This hotel offers an outstanding balance of luxury, convenience, and value. I would not hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone seeking a premium experience. Thank you to the entire team, especially Johnathon, for making my visit memorable!
What a lovely surprise, just a gorgeous grand old hotel (1913) formally a section 8 housing project and college dormitory before being beautifully renovated into a hotel. What an amazing job they did with this restoration, well done!! Conveniently located in the heart of Lynchburg with a beautiful lobby and business center. Just a few minutes walk down to the river area where you will experience live music and lots of lovely restaurants. Also walkable to the trailhead and riverbanks of the James River which I would recommend. Only one night for us unfortunately as it was a last-minute overnight stop on our drive up to Canada to break the trip - Breakfast and dinner up on the rooftop “Skyline Bar” lovely evening views. Hotel has self parking across the way, $12 per night or valet with an up charge. Business center as mentioned just off the lobby is well appointed and nicely decorated. Our room was on the sixth floor, unfortunately facing a brick wall, so no view despite being up on a hill overlooking the town which was the only negative 🤷🏻♂️ However, room was large and well appointed, linens, towels and bed were super comfortable and of a good quality. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much which was made more enjoyable with a quick tour of the grand ballroom downstairs - Special thanks to Shelby for escorting us and taking time to show us around! Overall, we highly recommended a stay at The Virginian Lynchburg - we too will be back!
We cannot say enough wonderful things about our stay here! We were in town celebrating my husband’s master’s graduation, and after unfortunately having a bad experience at another hotel, we were incredibly grateful when the hotel manager, Memory, went above and beyond to help our family. Even though the hotel was sold out, she kindly held a room for us after receiving a cancellation, and her kindness completely turned our trip around. Everyone here helped make our stay special. From the valet team, to the front desk staff, to the cafe and restaurant staff, every person we encountered was warm, welcoming, professional, and genuinely kind. The level of customer service here was truly exceptional from start to finish. Our room was spacious, spotless, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. The entire hotel felt upscale, relaxing, and well cared for. A very special thank you to Memory for making such a stressful situation so much better for our family during such an important milestone in our lives. Her kindness and dedication did not go unnoticed, and she is a huge reason why this stay became such a positive experience for us. We are beyond thankful and would absolutely stay here again.
