The Publisher was the perfect hotel for our wedding weekend. We stayed in the presidential suite, which was wonderful, and the rooms and amenities across the property were great. Many of our guests complimented the hotel throughout the weekend. If you want a place to stay in Fredericksburg that your guests will actually thank you for choosing, book The Publisher.

Stayed three night and enjoyed it very much. Room was large and spacious and nicely decorated. Also had lots of light - something we don't often find in a hotel. Free coffee was offered int he lobby (although no one told us about it, we discovered it by accident). It was Ok - not great. While the place is aesthetically pleasing, some basic amenities were missing such as: No clock on night stand No closet - very strange Housekeeping -only every other day - not my preference and when we did receive it, it was sloppy. Bed was not properly made (lumpy, sheets were not even smoothed out) Bathroom/sink vanity, very small, no place to put your toiletries. Had a makeup mirror, but it didn't work It was a very convenient location and I would still recommend staying there since it is an easy walk to all of downtown.
From our check in, which was great, we were made to feel welcome, the staff was genuinely pleased to see us. Room was 10 star, bed and pillows were super comfortable. At breakfast the next morning, there was a short wait due to staffing problem, so the GM Marquis took the waiter position and was genuinely charming. Food was spectacular tasty and hot. We can't thank them enough. Wish I could say more, but you stay here you will see for yourself.
Thank you for a beautiful stay. We thoroughly enjoyed the local charm reflected in the hotel's decor and interior design. The customer service was excellent, and our room was spacious, clean, and aesthetically pleasing. We particularly appreciated the exceptional water pressure and temperature in the shower, as well as the complimentary robes. The gym was impressively large and far exceeded standard hotel fitness centers. Additionally, the convenient off-peak complimentary street parking and the delicious food and cocktails at the downstairs bar and restaurant made our visit seamless. We had a wonderful experience and look forward to returning.
I stayed with my Aunt in a room so my name isn’t on the reservation, but I stayed this past weekend. Let me say, this is a cheap hotel disguised as an expensive and nice one. There were so many issues, I felt compelled to write a review to warn you. Firstly, our room had what I can best describe as a fishy odor. You can’t adjust the thermostat cooler than 65 degrees. We paid extra for a balcony room, and the door was broken and could not be opened, so we couldn’t once use the balcony. We booked a two queen room and they gave us a king and told us they could “try to find us a roll away bed”. After making a stink, they magically were able to find a two queen room. The fixtures on the bathroom sink would twist off every time you turned the sink on/ off. According to my Aunt and Uncle in a different room, they had the same problem with the sink. Also, I asked the front desk if they had ear plugs and they did not. What kind of hotel doesn’t have ear plugs? I’ve stayed in much cheaper hotels and they had ear plugs. The restaurant attached to this hotel is a whole other review. I dined there three times and had less than mid experiences each time. I certainly wouldn’t stay here again. And I certainly wouldn’t have a wedding here and host my family here. If this hotel was about 150 dollars cheaper a night, I would say “eh whatever”. But you have no business charging over $300 a night. Absolutely none. Do better. They best part of this experience is the cleaning crew. They rocked.
