I was checked into room 749 my first night there. My wife and I checked in around 7:00, went to the room, unpacked and went downstairs to have dinner. Food and service was good. Shortly after going to our room and after getting in bed, we heard a constant clanking and motor running. I called downstairs and asked what was going on the room beside us. The desk clerk played dumb but offered to move us to another room at 10:00 at night. We decided to suffer through it until the next day. I figured out that the elevator mechanism was in the room beside us and the person at the desk that morning verified it. They did move us to another room but I felt like they should have told us when we checked in. We will stay elsewhere when we are in Charlottesville

We used the Omni Charlottesville for our wedding room block. They were fantastic to work with! Very thoughtful and thorough. The hotel was immaculate – great rooms and common areas. The employees were all super kind. And they were very supportive with logistics surrounding our wedding (e.g., guests, bus pickup, etc.). Would recommend for any Charlottesville stay and especially for your wedding needs!
Checkout other recent reviews as well…don’t make the same mistake this traveler did!!! Absolutely worst stay in a LONG time!!! Upon getting my first room, it was 322….literally right next to the elevator which you could hear the auditable tone from the elevator from in the room each time it stopped at the floor. After about 2 minutes of this nonsense, I asked to change rooms which the front desk laughed and said sure, and I got room 501 which the AC was broken on a 96 degree day with a room with 2 of 3 walls in a triangle room with windows. Tried changing rooms again, but due to being “sold out” no other rooms. Whatever, I’ll just sweat, at least it will be quiet…WRONG!!! There was a band set up on the “main drag” right outside the room which played late into the night after a very long day of travel and meetings. I would HIGHLY recommend NOT staying here at all cost. The hotel is OLD, maintenance not kept up, and a staff that I personally feel because of one complaint sent me to a room they knew was even louder!!!! Hands down, one of the worst experiences I’ve had in a hotel from a seasoned traveler. PLEASE find somewhere else to stay and don’t believe the hype. It’s old and loud…exactly what’s a business traveler doesn’t want. Very sad for a company traditionally with high value and customer service.
Positives first: the hotel lobby has a nice, upscale feel with good aesthetics, lots of fake greenery, and they serve good coffee. Check-in was quick and easy. The room we were in was spacious and the pillows weren't flimsy. Negatives/constructive feedback: there are a few things that could (and should) be improved. There wasn't anything in the mini fridge available for purchase, not even water bottles. There is a vending machine on one of the floors but it only accepts $1 bills. And the front desk wasn't able to exchange larger bills at all. The ice machine also wasn't working during our stay. In our room, one of the bedside tables didn't have power so the outlets there couldn't be used. The wifi also wasn't user-friendly. We signed up for the membership during check-in but we still couldn't get connected even after entering our room number and names. After trying a few times, I just gave up. It's a nice-looking hotel but there are things that could be improved to match the rest of the experience especially at its price point
My friend and I came in for a gals trip. We originally rented an Airbnb but due to cleanliness issues, had to find another place quickly and we were thrilled to find that Charlottesville has an Omni. We’ve stayed at quite a few and we know the name is mostly equated with excellence (not including Omni Bedford Springs—that place needs some serious work on literally everything including the building, cleanliness, updates, staff, and amenities…but I digress). It was clean, stunning, and has a very upscale, elevated, luxurious feel. It was so clean! The carpets, furniture, walls, rooms, bathrooms…all spaces were impeccably well-maintained. We travel a lot and it’s rare to find this much attention to detail. We loved our room and found it aesthetically pleasing and comfortable, although my friend did say she had a dip in the middle of her mattress, which caused discomfort in her joints. The restaurant and bar is GORGEOUS in the most beautiful atrium. Service was great and Ken made us delicious cocktails and was perfectly attentive. The hotel is just about connected to the historic and popular outdoor mall. Lots of shops and restaurants to keep you busy (yes, there is a homeless population but it was pretty sparse when we were there). We both enjoyed the breakfast buffet and thought the food was mostly delicious and well done (the bacon was paper thin, the scrambled eggs were from a container—not real eggs). Overall, this Omni did not disappoint, however, we did agree that a hotel of this caliber really should consider offering free coffee in the lobby and to make their delicious fruit-infused water and iced tea offerings in the lobby available earlier in the day (there is a window and it was never out earlier in the day when we really wanted it). Highly recommend and would stay again.
