Very good for electric car charging. No markup. Very customer friendly. ❤️
My host is very friendly and polite, the room was clean and had everything I needed for my stay. I will definitely return.
I booked and paid for a room for December 31 – January 1 at the City Hotel Algirdas in Vilnius a significantly high New Year’s Eve rate. The booking conditions stated that the reservation was non-refundable, but the date could be changed. Unfortunately, due to an unforeseen emergency, we were unable to travel and informed the property immediately. After I notified the hotel, the property cancelled my reservation, and I received a cancellation confirmation. The room was resold, as availability for that day showed “sold out”. I asked the hotel to change my reservation date, which should have been allowed under the stated conditions. However, the property refused to change the date, even though the same room in January was priced at nearly three times less than what I had already paid. No alternative or fair solution was offered. Following this experience, I submitted an honest and factual review on Booking.com platform describing what happened. However, the review has not been published, and I have not received any explanation as to why.
Pros: excellent location, a new restaurant, decent breakfast, friendly and helpful staff, clean, affordable price. Cons: the hotel looks like it hasn’t been renovated in at least 15 years — everything might have been fine a long time ago, but now it feels outdated and worn. The interior is old across the board: furniture, carpets, TV, literally everything is dated. Broken items are not being repaired, and even old water leak stains in the bathroom are left fully visible, not covered or refreshed. There is a strange, unpleasant smell that comes from the age of the building. The walls are paper-thin — you can hear almost every detail of your neighbors’ conversations, sometimes even understand the words. One night a group of young guys were chatting loudly until 5:30 AM — if not for headphones, I would have asked to switch rooms. The picture attached is specifically from the bathroom, showing the water damage stains on the ceiling. Summary: the team and service are great, but it seems like the owners or management simply don’t care about the hotel condition or guest comfort. The low price is a plus, but next time I would rather pay more for a more acceptable and comfortable stay. It’s better to pay more and actually get a tolerable rest.
