The tour begins base nearby the Mýrdalsjökull glacier in South Iceland. We start by going over the tour plan and safety instructions. From the base we cross some small rivers and head down to the black lava sands fields which derives from the dormant volcano Katla. Down by the black beach we stop and enjoy the amazing view up to the Mýrdalsjökull glacier and along the coast to the southernmost part of Iceland, the small peninsula Dyrhólaey. We then head along the coast to the famous aircraft wreck, from there we continue to the river Jökulsá and up to the foot of the mountain. Upon our return we follow the mountain back to the base. The ATV experience itself lasts approximately 2 hours. You will ride 2 people per ATV, with one driving and one as a passenger. If you are traveling alone, or in an odd-numbered group (3, 5, 7 etc.) there is an additional charge payable locally for single riders. The adventure will provide stunning photo opportunities in good weather, so don't forget to bring your camera! You will be provided with everything you need for a safe and comfortable ride. No ATV experience is required to take part and the skill level for this activity is deemed as 'easy'.
It was very good! They had 2 stops. First at the iconic plane, they even told is the story why it became famous! And by the beach water! Very nice, if you like adventure its good!

Bjark was FANTASTIC!!! He told us the story of Katla Volcano using the black sand of the Atlantic Ocean overlooking Mýrdalsjökull glacier! There was no better classroom on earth. Then we rode through river into the valley and had the ABSOLUTE TIME OF OUR LIVES!

Bjarki was an incredible guide and took us through incredible landscape during our tour. The driving itself was so fun, reaching speeds up to 60km/hour. Bjarki was also extremely knowledgeable about the area and Iceland in general and complemented our tour with local stories and history. If I’m ever here again, I will definitely book this tour again.

An unforgettable adventure with Hinrik! We absolutely loved this buggy tour — both me and the boys! From the moment we arrived, the staff were friendly, welcoming and professional, and then the adventure really began. Hinrik was a fantastic guide, taking us through spectacular scenery and all kinds of terrain: black sand beaches, mountains, rough rocky tracks and even through rivers! Driving through the water and across the black beach was thrilling, with just the right amount of adrenaline. Along the way, there were a few stops where Hinrik shared some information about the places we were exploring, as well as plenty of surprises that I won’t spoil — they’re part of what makes this experience so special! The best way to describe it? The boys were still absolutely beaming hours afterwards, talking about the experience. That says it all. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a fun, adventurous and memorable way to discover Iceland’s incredible landscapes. I did the ATV Tour on Black Sand Beach yesterday. The pre-ride briefing was extremely detailed. The ATV was really easy to pick up and handled wonderfully. The whole route was fantastic, with stunning views of the black sand beach, the ocean and exciting off-road trails. Our guide Hinrik and his colleague accompanied us the entire way and gave us thorough commentary. I especially loved the explanation about the two volcanoes on the black sand beach, packed with fascinating information. 10/10, absolutely recommended!

We took a family buggy tour with Miro, and it was one of the highlights of our trip! He guided us through an incredible route—speeding along the beach, crossing river, and taking us right up to the famous plane wreck. The scenery along the way was absolutely breathtaking. Our family of 4 thoroughly enjoyed this experience. The suits and boots provided kept us warm and dry. Left our shoes and jackets in the changing area. The tour itself is split riding between the beautiful countryside and along the black sand beach. There were a couple of river crossings but the quides coach you and our group had no issues. None of us had ever been on quads before. The machines were easy to operate. Overall great experience, would highly recommend!

Thw trip was an amazing experience. It it a first time I ever rode a quad bike and the tour guide Hinrik explained it so well that I felt very safe. He also had such a fun and quirky way of telling us about Iceland, so we really recommend him!
Perfect atv tour, it was really nice driving at the black sand beach and through riverbeds. Our guide Sindri was great and sharesd interesting information about the area. He has a great sense of humour I would definitely recommend this tour.
It was a blast, you get equipped with a weatherproof jumper, boots, balaclava and gloves and off you go. We chose single riders so we each had our own vehicle and that doubled the fun. Our guide Bjarki was awesome, he found the right balance between keeping things smooth for the newbies and still offering a challenging and fun ride for those with a little more experience.
Must do adventure in Iceland!!! We had the BEST time hooning around on the ATVs! Our guide Bjarki was amazing! He is super knowledgeable, had a strong focus on safety but also ensured we had fun along the way! It’s such an incredible way to see and experience the beautiful black sand beach and also to see the Bieber famous plane wreck. Loved the information Bjarki shared about the area, including about the glaciers, volcanos and the story behind why the plane wreck is where it is today. Had an awesome adventure on the Quad bike tour! Bjarki was such a great and knowledgeable guide! He was very safe and ran an awesome session for our small group today! It’s a bit pricey - but you’re only here once! Honestly I think it’s a great way to see the black sand beaches and the plane wreck! Plus you get to rip on the quad bikes! So good! 10/10 would recommend going with Bjarki he’s the man! 🤙🏾😎

The tour was very exiting, it was lots of fun, even though it was raining a lot. We came back totally socked, but it was worth the adventure. Miro, the tour guide, did an amazing job and told us about the sights.

We chose this ATV tour because it was advertised as suitable for beginners and had many positive reviews. Unfortunately, our experience was very different. Shortly after departure, we noticed that our ATV consistently pulled to the left. My companion drove first and experienced the issue, and after we switched drivers, I experienced the same behavior. We are both experienced drivers, and there was no collision, accident, or unsafe incident. We simply raised what we believed to be a legitimate handling concern. The guide briefly tested the ATV and concluded that nothing was wrong. However, no effort was made to let us try another ATV, compare it with a different vehicle, or explore any alternative solution. Instead, less than 10 minutes into the tour, we were removed from the excursion and transported back to the base while the rest of the group continued. We never reached either of the advertised highlights: Black Sand Beach or the DC-3 Plane Wreck. What disappointed us most was not the ATV itself, but how the situation was handled. We understand that issues can arise during any outdoor activity and that guides must make safety decisions. However, for a tour marketed as beginner-friendly, we expected some reasonable attempt to help us continue participating, whether through a vehicle swap, a passenger option, or another accommodation. After returning to the base, there was no staff available to assist us. We later requested a partial refund because we had received only a small portion of the advertised experience. Our request was denied twice by the shift manager, and no alternative compensation, future credit, or other remedy was offered. Looking through other reviews, it appears that most customers have a positive experience. However, our experience suggests that if you encounter a problem during the tour, the company may be quick to remove participants rather than work toward a reasonable solution. Paying the full price for a tour and receiving less than 10 minutes of participation, without reaching any of the advertised destinations, was extremely disappointing. For that reason, I cannot recommend this tour.

My son and I took an ATV tour, and we had an amazing time! We went to see the plane wreck on the famous black sand beach, and it was an incredible way to experience the landscape. We appreciate that taking the tour allowed us to enjoy the sights with much less crowding. Our guide, Miro, was fantastic. He was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and kind, especially while helping some members of our group who needed a little extra guidance. He took the time to make sure everyone felt comfortable and understood how to operate the ATVs. The guides were friendly, attentive, and regularly checked in on everyone throughout the tour. Once we got going, we had an absolute blast ripping around on the ATVs! Such a fun and memorable adventure that we would definitely recommend!
This was so much fun! We were a family of 4 with adult children and had a blast. Hinrik and Sindri gave great instructions and also gave us some really interesting information about volcanos and the crashed plane. The atvs were very capable and going through the water was a lot of fun. I highly recommend this tour and operator.

This was by far my favorite thing I did while in Iceland this trip around. Jordy was a great guide and riding through rivers and black sand beaches and just through parts of South oceans was so fun. Our favorite stop was the area he called ‘Jurassic Park’. It was very well organized too which made it less stressful as this was a separate tour that we had to split off from our main tour group. But they made sure to get us back to our main group afterwards very smoothly.

If you want to do a river crossing but don't want to brave the F roads this is the perfect activity, lol. It is a great way to see the plane wreck while learning more about Icelaclnd and exploring the beautiful landscapes and terrains. A lot of people say to skip the plane wreck but not only is the plane wreck worth seeing, especially is you have time, this tour make is even more of a must do. Our guide Henrik was great at answering sharing the history of the spot we were visiting and answering our questions.
Bjarki was an amazing guide! We definitely got stuck with a slower group but he made sure we still had fun and anyone who wanted to go faster still had the opportunity. He was so lively and managed the group in a timely manner. Our group took about 2 -2.5 hrs to complete the trail. All in all lovely experience and amazing Guide

We are a family of three , we went with our 12 year old and had such a fun time, she rode in the back. Everything was safe- we had jumpsuits , boots and helmets! I love crossing the streams. Rjavik I think our guides name is, he was wonderful and talked geology with us! Bathrooms were clean!
Our experience was phenominal! Our Guide, Hinrik Thorsson, was exceptional. He was very knowledgable, informative, kind, comedic at times and thorough. He guided us safely through the procedures of the ATV handling and through the tour itself. The sites were wonderful but the most enjoyable part was just driving through iceland feeling like youre seeing apart of the country meant just for your eyes only. 100% worth every penny spent.

Great fun. Henrik was our guide and he was great. Recommend that you wear the boots. Even with them, my husband somehow managed to get water in them and in my hair!
we couldn’t arrive on time due to travel delays and asked to push back the tour to a later time of the day. we even offered to shorten the ride to just 30 minutes instead of its full 2-hour…. nope, they wouldn’t accommodate.
This was a really fun experience! From the black sand beach, to the crashed plane, to the many streams you get to cross, it lets you see parts of the island you might not have otherwise. All with the beautiful backdrop of the mountains and glaciers. I would definitely recommend wearing their boots if you want to avoid wet feet. We wore our tall waterproof hiking boots which should have been fine, but got water in them anyway. If you wear your own boots, make sure to lift your feet up as high as you can while going through the streams, it will save soaking your socks! I would recommend bringing extra socks and an extra pair of pants since it seemed some of the coveralls were a little leaky and some people's pants got wet. Our guide Hinrik was great - very knowledgeable and entertaining. Overall, would definitely recommend!
This experience was one of the highlights of our two week ring road trip. I have been on many atv tours all over the world but this one was the coolest. We went through many different terrains. Black sand beach and going through mud was fun but then we got to ride through a pretty big river which I had never done. But the best was seeing the abandoned plane. I had only seen in in pics but it was so cool to see in person and hear the story about what happened and why it was there.
