4 Hour Glacier Hike At Sólheimajökull

Frank was a great guide. My only complaint was that some of the participants were late and we had to wait till almost 2:30pm before we set off. It was unfair that we had to wait for the latecomers and ended up with less time on the glacier.

If you’re on the fence about doing a glacier hike, def would recommend going for it especially with Sindri. I had a fun small group of people and an amazing guide, who I can’t say enough good things about. Sindri loves his job and his country, it was a treat to have him as our guide who is enthusiastic about Iceland and its lifestyle. Thank you for making this experience more fun and memorable! Oh and if your voucher just says “we will be in the parking lot in a white van next to the meeting point” look for a small white van says David the guide. There was no clear instruction on what to look for in the parking lot and literally every tour vans are white… or just look for the most Icelandic looking guide which would be Sindri. Haha

I can't recommend this hike enough! You'll be absolutely captivated by the breathtaking views of the Sólheimajökull Glacier. It's a truly wonderful hike, and our guides, Steinar and Susana, made the experience even better with their amazing insights into the area. This one is unmissable!

Michael and I had an amazing time with David the Guide’s Glacier Hike at Sólheimajökull Shared Experience! Our guide, Elias, was incredibly knowledgeable about the area and was informative throughout the tour. I felt very safe throughout the tour due to Elias’s confidence and awareness of the area . I am so glad we booked this tour because this was definitely one of the coolest experiences that I have ever had traveling. We appreciated that Elias took his time to get perfect glacier photos for us to remember our trip. I would recommend this tour to anyone that is curious about hiking a glacier in Iceland since it was breathtaking and unique! Thank you Elias and David the Guide!

We had a fantastic time on the 3-hour glacier tour with Elias! He’s a passionate and knowledgeable guide who took great care of everyone and explained the ice in an interactive way. Highly recommend!

We did not get to go on the experience. When we arrived the designated 20 minutes early at the glacier and waited in by the pick up place for our guide he never showed. After waiting for an additional 10 minutes I called the place. They said they moved the trip up due to weather conditions. They said they left us an email at 11:20 and tried to call us. We had already left at 11:00 because it was a 3 hour drive to get to the glacier. The calls they made did not go through because of WiFi connection in the middle of nowhere in Iceland. They offered to maybe give us some money back. It has been over a day and I have heard nothing from the company.

In may it’s pretty warm so don’t over dress and the walk to the glacier is a decent walk but not real difficult

Kamila was an amazing guide, and this was such a great experience. With a small group, Kamila really tailored our glacier experience. Two days before our hike, she had scoped out the glacier to ensure she identified interesting features and the safest routes to those features. Our only problem was connecting with Kamila. There are so many guide groups at the parking lot, and the "Dave the Guide" van was not easily identifiable.

Magdelana and Rick were so accommodating and knowledgeable. Also very friendly. We had a great adventure!

It was an easy set up, and really good guide, Kamila. There was 11 of us, and some were more apt to climb and move then others, so that did put a little of a damper. But we were able to see a lot and have a great experience.

We had an excellent glacier hike with Kamilla on June 29. The hike was amazing and Kamilla was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, helpful, supportive and appropriately careful. I enjoyed talking with her. Kamilla did a good job of judging the comfort level of the group in terms of which way to go on the glacier. I would definitely recommend her and the trip to friends! Marcia

Amazing experience, very knowable guides and beautiful views Hiked all the way to the top of the glacier safely and stopped along the way for interesting facts.

Don't book! I booked for my children and me a glacier hike and paid directly. David the Guide didn't show up at the meeting time. I called their office, but they couldn't find the booking. Two hours later they informed me there was no guide available, so the couldn't guide me and my family, but they never informed me properly, although they had my mobile phone number. They apologized a hundred times for their mistake, and said it was all on them to blame, but the didn't refund the EUR 350,- I paid them. From other guides at the glacier I heard, this wasn't the first time 'David The Guide' didn't show up to guide a group. For me it is 'David Not The Guide

We had a great time with Kamila on Solheimjokull glacier hike Thursday Aug 3rd! We loved having a small group. This really was key for an enjoyable experience. She was knowledgeable, friendly and warm. She took pictures of all of us. Provided us with great facts. Found us clay on the glacier for our faces. Included my son who was 9 and the only child on the hike.

Everything perfect, the guide Hang was kind and professional, the tour well organized. The hike easy and for everybody.

We had an amazing hike on the glacier with Styrmir, the best tour guide ever! He told us interesting stories and legends about Iceland and made us feel safe and comfortable throughout the all experience. We can’t recommend this tour (and this guide) enough! Ciao!
