The guide, Maria, was very knowledgeable and concerned that the needs of all guests were met. Despite the day starting off late, due to ship, a couple wandering away at the last minute, being g held up due to an accident on the highway, leaving us to return late to the ship, she remained professional a d dealt with each set back. The very, very bad day turned out wonderfully in the end.

There's not "a lot" to the area. Had to drive an hour to get there, so that took up a good chunk of time. Our guide, Maria, was great! She was very knowledgeable, friendly, & patient/calm under stressing circumstances. Would def recommend her.
Very poor customer service. Tour left without us. There were time change issues. Viator never called on day of tour to confirm with us, though they had all contact information. Very disappointed.
This was a great tour. Our guide Christina was amazing!! She was very mindful of our ship all aboard time and we learned so much about the Galicia region of Spain
Great value for money. Learnt a lot about Santiago and the city is beautiful. Our guide Jorge is very knowledgeable, organized, entertaining and everything you would want a tour guide to be.
Great service by our guide. He was very informative and made the whole experience really enjoyable .
Excellent excursion, as outlined on website. Great guide in Jorge. Easy to join coach in cruise terminal. Trip was scheduled for 6 hours, which it was. Would have liked more free time in Santiago, since we had a scheduled late sailaway, but we were aware of that fact.
Our tour was unexpectedly rescheduled from 11 am to 10 am without our knowledge or consent. As a result we missed a once in a lifetime opportunity. Our money was refunded, but the damage had already been done.
Total cattle call, condensed and edited visit to the cathedral and museum that missed many parts and experiences , 2 hour round trip bus ride, 1 1/2 hours of free time that could have been best used for a fuller experience, should have been given the option for more individual time in the museum and cathedral…..this tour is not worth the time and or expense
A lot of detail info in the museum and church. Too much for us. Was beautiful and interesting to see the pilgrims/hikers arrive.
Excellent tour, great tour guide. It was a lot of fun. The bus was very clean. We all had a really good time.
Time was precisely managed. Our tour guide, Christina, was wonderfully knowledgeable. We really enjoyed her stories and delivery and expertise. Job well done. We had plenty of time to tour as a group and on our own
We had a memorable experience going to visit Santiago. The bus ride was comfortable and our tour guide, Jorge, laid the foundation for the tour on the ride. Jorge did a good job keeping our large group together, even if it was slightly challenging to hear through the tour-provided ear piece. Our almost four-year old got overwhelmed during the trip and Jorge kindly and effectively helped us navigate through the cathedral tour. Worth the trip to a sacred site.
The excursion to Santiago de Compostela was very nice. Christina was an excellent guide and the bus driver was very skillful. We really enjoyed the tour of the area and the museum. The only suggestion I have is that the guide pass out and test the listening devices while we were on the bus. Several people had difficulty tuning into and/or adjusting their devices and it was confusing and time consuming to resolve the issues with people wandering around outside.
Good communication and timely pickup. Guide was knowledgeable and informative on the drive to Santiago. Once we arrived however, the portable hearing system was useless! We couldn’t understand anything the guide said due to distortion. Then on the way back to the ship, the bus had no working air conditioning. We basically paid for a just a shuttle to and from Santiago, and only half of the time did we have a comfortable ride. The time in Santiago was basically just following a group of people and having no idea what we were actually seeing.
The drive wasn't bad, it was fairly scenic, in the destination was very interesting. There was nothing wrong with the content of the tour at all, the problems arose with difficulty understanding the tour guide via the headset because the audio was badly distorted for everyone. Also the trip back was miserable because the bus had no AC and nothing but warm air came out of the vents, and it was like an oven. With this being a touring bus, there was no way to open a window at all so we suffocated the whole trip back to the ship. The driver and the guide were wonderful and the destination was wonderful, it was just these technical difficulties.
Jorge was very knowledgeable and Michael was an excellent driver. The church was for the most part closed due to St. Joseph holiday so crowds were big and several protests going on. All in all a good learning trip.
Great well organised tour. We’d booked the 10am tour but got a message 2 days before that due to numbers we’d been combined with the 9am tour. I had spotted in reviews this could happen so looked out for the details specifically, but the change was a bit subtle if not already looking so read the pre-info sent carefully. We had a sea day directly before Vigo so was pleased to get the message 2 days prior whilst still in port. The tour was well organised, a large coach for less than 20 people. Parked close to the centre and given chance for a toilet stop. Guided to the centre and given information, then a couple of hours free time before a guided tour of the museum and cathedral, before getting back to the. Kay with plenty of time to spare. Tour guide Jorge was excellent - great level of information to keep you interested.
Carolina was a great tour guide! She was very nice & knowledgeable. We loved the tour. Bus was comfortable. Good driver.
We had an amazing time during our visit to Santiago de Compostela. The timing was perfect. Jorge our tour guide was at the cruise port waiting for us with his large orange umbrella that you couldn’t miss. He was very easy to locate. We boarded the bus on time and Ana delivered an amazing ride from Vigo to Galicia, where we visited the famous Santiago de Compostela Cathedral. Jorge gave us incredible history on the area and plenty of time to do shopping and to visit the area before touring the cathedra. This was an overall amazing experience and we would not hesitate to do it again. If you visiting in Vigo, Spain, we highly recommend that you book this tour with Jorge and Ana.
Great value, informative tour. Jorge was very personable, humorous and helpful. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.
Trip to Santiago de Compostela was cancelled by the operator at short notice. Subsequently payment was taken from my account. At the time of writing I have not been refunded for the non-existent trip.
It is not at all the tour operator's fault that we weren't in port very long, but it did cause our time in Santiago to feel very short. However, we got back to the ship with time to spare, which is the most important thing. Our guide, Maria, was a master at planning on the fly and delivered a very good tour within the Cathedral, even navigating a scary medical situation with a member of our group. It was handled promptly and professionally. The tour on the bus could have been a little stronger considering 3 hours of the excursion was spent there.
Bus was clean and ride comfortable. The tour guide was pleasant with an accent but clear English. We saw everything promised and loved the ear radio receivers we each got making it so easy to keep upand know what we were seeing. Our ship was only in port from 10:00-3:30 but tour was adapted so that we saw all promised, had free time (about 45 mins) and made it back to port by 3:20…
The driver was fabulous, smooth driving. Maria, the guide was one of the best. Very knowledgeable, professional, excellent communication skills...highly recommend!
Easy to find the orange umbrella right by the ship. Started on time. Throughout, our guide Maria, was excellent, friendly, professional, and highly informative. Highly recommended. The town is beautiful, pizza spectacular, and the church where Apostle James is buried was one of the most ornate we’ve seen in Europe. Well worth it.
The weather was perfect today, and we headed out early for a tour of Santiago de Compostela. Our guide, Christina, was so good! She have us the history of Galicia as we took a coach to the site. First, we went to the museum. We visited the tomb of St. James and gave him a hug. (Yes, that’s a thing everyone does.) After that, we were fortunate enough to attend mass at the cathedral. There were pilgrims attending from all over the world. Mass was in Spanish. Before the mass, visitors that were not participating were asked to leave. The organ was unique and had pipes going both vertically and horizontally! At the end of mass, some officials told people to stay clear, and then they lit the Botifumiero. Wow! A team of monks got it swinging, and it looked like it was going to hit the ceiling! It’s a GIANT incense burner suspended from the ceiling of the cathedral. We were so lucky to see this! Cameras weren’t allowed during mass, but I found this on YouTube. https://share.google/xDd9y8l2AVfbXCley Then we met up with Christina again, and she bought us some special Galician beer from the cafe. We drank it on the bus on our way back home. What a wonderful day!
Incredible day exploring Santiago De Compostella. We had no idea about the history of this place, but now are in awe of "The Way" and the lengths travelers go to complete the path. Guides were excellent. Highly recommend.
Our guide Christina was great... very knowledgeable and friendly. The wireless ear pieces worked flawlessly. Santiago is a must do if you are in the area. If you haven't seen the movie The Way do yourself a favour and watch it before you go to Santiago
It was a very good trip. Our guide, Marie, was an excellent guide. She was very accommodating and helpful. She gave us tips on which restaurants to consider for lunch. It was easy to keep an eye on her with the umbrella and we love using the ear buds so we could hear what she was saying. I highly recommend this trip!
Excellent communication from the company. Full instructions re pick up at cruise terminal. The tour guide (Justine?) was excellent, giving us comprehensive information en route to Santiago. Her English was excellent. We enjoyed a great tour of the Cathedral & Museum and had some free time to get lunch/snack. Would recommend.
Excellent visit to Santiago De Compostela. Very knowledgeable guide, comfortable coach and great mix of free time and guided tour.
Tour guide was great. Driver was great. Felt safe and secure entire tour. We had time to do a little shopping, we went for a bite to eat at a local pub/bakery that had churros & chocolate
Making the trip from the cruise port , so a lengthy bus trip is part of the deal. Bus was modern and comfortable and fortunately our bus wasn't filled to capacity. Tour guide was good and and answered all our questions. Recommended best for Christian couples interested in history of Apostle St. James.
Your was as described and delivered as promised. Very comfortable coach. Our Guide was very informative, interesting and pleasant.
Excellent tour. They even pickup inside the cruise port where the cruise line buses are. Much cheaper than booking direct with cruise line. Gave us some high tech wireless ear phones.
Our guide was wonderful. Spoke very clearly & was very knowledgeable about the history of Santiago. After seeing the church, we had about 2 hrs on our own to get lunch & explore. The only negative is that we had a party of six that couldn't seem to find the tour's very bright orange umbrella EXACTLY where directions indicated and we started 15 min late. Our guide found the group just sitting on a bench. That inconvenience cost us time in the gorgeous Santiago Cathedral. Our guide was very careful to count us at each stop!
The cathedral and the surrounding town are worth the visit. Memorable architecture, church antiquities in the adjoined museum and charming cobblestone streets.
They were not there. They made us wait in the rain but never came or called or emailed notice. Not professional
The excursion promptly left at the right time for Santiago Cathedral, with a very clean bus. The guide us walked us through both the museum and church. Then, we had 2 free hours. We arrived back at the ship with an hour to spare...
This was a good tour. Plenty of free time to explore, shop and eat! Cathedral time was just right. Our guide Maria was knowledgeable and funny!
The trip was fine. The guide was good. But the communication between Viator and me was poor. The last minute change of meeting point and time and the transportation vehicle was not delivered to my email. We as a group of eight signed up for what we thought was a 16 person tour, we ended up as a part of a bus group. And because of poor communication, the whole bus was waiting for us while we frenetically tried to locate the guide.
It was an overall good tour. It was informative. The value could be better in regards to what is included for the price paid.
Very well organised, pickup right next to ship terminal building. Excellent guide, very knowledgeable. Plenty of time to get lunch and shop before return to ship.
The bus was comfortable, clean, and included wifi. Maria Christina was an excellent tour guide and very well informed about the area and the Catholic traditions. The supplied audio devices made it much easier to hear. Her English was easy to understand and she tried to take care of everyone's needs. We felt that the 4 of us came away with a good understanding of the area, culture, and history of the region.
Santiago de Compostela is lovely and very nice to walk around. The bus was very pleasant. That's about all of the "Pros" list for this tour. The "Cons" list is considerably longer. - The tour guide, Maria, did not meet us as we entered the bus or make a walk down the bus - so those of us in the back heard her, but never caught a glimpse of her. When we arrived after the 70min ride, she bolt off thru the HUGE crowd of groups and busses. She did not have an umbrella or sign and those who got off the bus later had NO IDEA who to look for as we made our way up the hill to the rest rooms. Eventually found the group by seeing familiar looking people from the bus. But this was the trend for the majority of the tour. She walked fast and we were a large group (55-60) and some of us were trying to help the handicapped folks keep up - even up 2 flights of stairs in the museum. Did she not notice that there were 3 in the group that used canes? I think it would be better to just have a tour that took you back and forth between Vigo and Santiago de Compostela and tickets to the museum and cathedral on our own. OR, the group should have been broken up into 2 or even 3 groups with a more attentive guide. Having said that - Santiago de Compostela is a wonderful, albeit very crowded, place to visit.
Great day out with a wonderful guide, Christina. Well worth the money. Picked up from the cruise ship making it so easy. The guide was friendly knowledgeable and personable.
The experience was fantastic from beginning to end. Our guide Maria Christine was very informative and shared a lot of history and information. We were allowed free time to explore and enjoy lunch and shopping. Then we went to the museum at the cathedral. Then we had a short tour of the beautiful Cathedral. There were restroom breaks and we returned to our ship in plenty of time.
This was an excellent tour mainly because of our tour guide Christina. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. She made the tour fun and we learned so much even though it was our second visit.
Drove to Santiago, great guide, very knowledgeable. Once we arrived, we had free time to explore and have lunch, then we had a tour of the Cathedral. Really lovely day out.
