I booked two rooms at Occidental Vigo directly through Barceló.com. My first booking attempt appeared unsuccessful and generated no confirmation, so I tried again. I received one confirmation email for two rooms, but upon arrival learned that four rooms had been reserved. We used two rooms but were charged for four. The hotel refused to resolve the issue in person and sent me to central customer service. Customer service sent me back to the hotel, which has ignored multiple emails. Even an escalation to Barceló Hotel Group corporate headquarters has gone unanswered. The hotel itself was pleasant, but I have never experienced such a complete lack of accountability in resolving a booking problem. I strongly recommend using caution when booking through Barceló.com. A transaction may apparently go through without a confirmation reaching you, and in my experience neither the hotel nor corporate customer service was willing to take responsibility for resolving the resulting duplicate charge.

A decent hotel with a great location right next to the shopping centre. I’d highlight the comfortable, large beds. The front desk staff were helpful and always ready to assist. On the downside, the elevators in the hotel are very slow, which can be frustrating. Parking costs an extra 19 euros, can’t be booked in advance, and the spaces themselves are extremely narrow. It’s also surprising that for a 4-star hotel, the room had absolutely nothing in it — no coffee, no tea, and oddly, not even glasses. That’s the bare minimum that should be in every room at this level.
Clean nice hotel with amazing view. Helpful staff. Average breakfast. The towels need an upgrade. Overall recommended
Not a great overnight for us. We have a modern camper van and occasionally will treat ourselves to some comfort in a city. I phoned ahead to check on the height of the car park. However when I arrived we were told the camper wouldn’t fit and we would have to park in the shopping centre nearby. Seeing as we only chose this hotel because of the secure parking - that was not a viable option for us. We were told it was impossible, but having checked the car park, it is no different to most underground hotel parking facilities. Eventually I persuaded them to let me in, however the atmosphere was now awkward. We paid €10 extra to have a front facing bedroom on check in, seemed a good deal. This turned out bad for us as the air conditioning in our room was very poor. The city was hot, 33 C.. Throughout our stay the room temp didn’t drop below 24 C We had to open the windows in order to get some sleep. We mentioned this on check out and the reception made a note …to have it checked! The location is reasonably good for the city.
great location, clean room with great sea view and excellent customer service by Ms Mar from the front desk. best thing is the super king-sized bed and spotless clean room, located right opposite the big shopping mall and all other places are walkable within minutes. wifi works well that i can watch my korean dramas. LOVE it.!!❤️❤️
