Great tour. Michael our tour guide was really good. He had fun stories and fun facts. Tour with wrong guide could have been boring, but not with Michael!!
Michael was the best tour guide, so entertaining and well informed on the family history and palace too. Very nice and so glad we had him as our guide!
I iseed it because of illenss. I later bought a limited ticket. Would not recommend. It is kind of blah. Belvedere pcae is a better option.
Sace was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable and accommodating . She gave us great information and tips on what to visit, where to eat, etc.. Learned a lot in just two hours.
Bridgette was a very knowledgeable guide and shared so much information with us. She gave us a nice tour of the palace! We really enjoyed seeing the rooms, hearing the details and walking in the gardens. Very impressive!
our guide was very informative giving us many historical fact I did not know before. for example that Belgium was part of Austria in the 1800s.
We had Bridget as our guide. She was nice and knowledgeable. The whole tour is very organized. The palace is very crowded but we were able to get an informative and comprehensive tour. I did not feel rushed. The earpieces were great for being able to hear the guide in such a large group.
Tour guide (Alisandra) was very energetic and passionate about the subject so made the whole the tour very fun and enjoyable.
I would not recommend. The guide was very knowledgeable and knew a lot of history but we spent 40 minutes in the entry way looking at a map of the grounds and a diagram of the royal family tree instead of touring the place and grounds. 20 minutes in the palace apartments and then then a 15-minute break for gift shop …. So a third of the group didn’t bother to hang around for the 7 minutes or so left for the gardens . I envied the people with the handheld recorded tours who kept passing us by
Excellent tour with experienced and knowledgeable guide. The tour length was sufficient with free time at the end to explore the gardens. Enjoyed the palace and history.
Great tour! Very well organized, person with the green umbrella was in place early to check off your name from the list. Our guide, Dieter, was obviously very seasoned and kept the group together and moved along for a very information packed tour. He was the reason it’s 5 stars
Juliet was informative and humorous. She kept it fast paced with just the right amount of history.
We really liked our guide, but for the time that wasn’t spent with a headset on — which represented a third of the trip — it was very difficult to hear her because there were 24 people on the tour and it is not a quiet place. The tour is interesting when you could hear the stories, but we came away disappointed overall.
Our guide, Andy, was wonderful. He is very knowledgeable, fun, personable, and answered all of my questions.
The palace is magnificent and the whole surroundings area is huge. The garden was beautiful. Michael our tour guide was excellent!
Our guide Michael did a fantastic job and was so knowledgeable about the palace and the history of the Hapsburgs.
Great tour. The guide was wonderful. Please have the guide meet the group right inside the gate with a sign. Thank you!
The guide Ally was fabulous! Our group really enjoyed this tour. The tour was filled so much great information. I highly recommend it.
We highly recommend this tour! Our tour guide was very enjoyable & so knowledgeable & insightful about Schonbrunn & the gardens! Our tour just flew by! I felt like it was well worth doing this tour & the group size was smaller so you always felt like you were able to keep up. My husband & I went to the cafe on top of the hill after the tour & had a great lunch after! Enjoy this tour! You will not be disappointed!!
The palace itself is absolutely gorgeous and well worth visiting, but unfortunately we did not have a good experience with this particular tour. Our guide frequently turned away from the group while speaking, which made it very difficult to hear or follow what she was saying. She also made several unnecessary jokes/jabs about Americans that felt out of place and had nothing to do with the tour. Inside the palace it was extremely crowded, and the tour didn’t add much to the experience—we honestly felt we would have been better off exploring on our own. Once we reached the gardens, the pace became incredibly slow, with the guide stopping every few steps to discuss things that often didn’t seem related to the gardens themselves. Eventually we decided to leave the tour early, and several other people from our group did the same. The palace and gardens are beautiful and absolutely worth seeing, but based on our experience, I would recommend visiting independently rather than taking this particular tour.
The interior tour is nice and we got to tour what felt like 15 or so rooms, the gardens portion though is massive. You could stay all day and not see all of it. Must do!
Julia was fantastic! Funny and very knowledgeable, especially since we went in knowing next to nothing about the palace.
Great guided tour. The guide was very experienced and knowledgable.
It was a nice experience, mostly our Guide , Michael was extraordinary host!! He is making this trip interesting and joyful!!
A very informative tour provided by our fabulous guide Michael. Michael is a great storyteller which made for a great experience. A few things detracted from the overall experience: all of the works going on in the grounds following a recent event resulted in chaos with guides not fully knowing exactly how tours would be impacted; one of the main palace rooms was closed due to restoration; and the tour ended in the garden without actually walking through and providing a guided experience as was detailed in the tour information.
We had the most amazing guide, Michael, to take us through the beautiful rooms of Schoenbrunn castle! Don’t remember last time we had a guide who captivated our attention this much, mixing history and humor! Thank you, Michael!
Booked this tour with the tour guide Michael and we absolutely loved it. He spoke clearly and gave very interesting information. We were there with a young baby and we were very well taken care of. A couple of steps but an elevator was available. Most of the tour was on the same level. Highly recommend 👌
We took the Schönbrunn Palace and Gardens Guided Tour with high expectations. Unfortunately was there a Horse jumping tournament in front of the Palace which crowded the Palace area incredible and did not allow a decent picture of the front of the Palace. Of course not the fault of the tour operator. Our tour guide,an elderly gentleman, did a great job of keeping the group together. guided us through the crowded rooms and gave us all the necessary information about the Habsburg Monarchy, especially Empress Maria Theresia. The tour included also a lot of information about modern Austria. The Palace Gardens are a huge property which take extensive walking if you want to see them all. They also contain the oldest zoo in Europe. Compliment to our guide. He kept the group informed and entertained on a warm day in a crowded environment. Great job.
I’m sure it’s a beautiful palace, just difficult to see the scope given all the construction from the Longines championship. The gardens, however, are beautiful!
Palace tour was well planned and the tour was led by a great guide Billy. She was a fountain of knowledge- from the origin of the word vaccine to demonstrating us the minuet dance in the grand gallery, she was great! She was enthusiastic and I greatly appreciated her insights on the history of the Austrian royal family ! She explained in detail each royal room’s origin and the fireplace was a surprise. My thanks for a great tour!
There was an event at the Castle which encroached on the meeting point, causing much stress about where to wait for the guide. There should be a facility to text attendees about unprecedented situations.
Knowledgeable and very friendly guide.
Deter was an excellent and knowledgeable host. This tour is the must-attend to get your full value of the palace (otherwise, you’ll be stuck in lines for days). Deter really knew his stuff about every room of the palace we went through. Great tour and format.
Great experience of imperial Austrian history, awesome guide and knowledgeable and friendly.
Deter was a wonderful guide! He was very personable and knowledgeable. The only issue we had with the tour was the horse jumping competition that is staged at the palace in September of each year. The competition involved multiple tents and structures that interfered with the beauty of the palace. Recommend that you avoid the palace during the time that this competition is being staged each year.
Dieter ran a very good tour. Very knowledgeable with a good sense of humor. The palace and gardens were beautiful. Definitely worth a visit!
Booking was easy and meeting our guide was as well- look for the free umbrella! Our guide was fantastic! Knowledgeable and witty she moved us through easily not too quickly through- we were really able to see everything she spoke of and was detailing. We went on our own to see gardens and that was no problem at all
Our guide, Antoinette, was absolutely superb!! At first, we had some trouble finding the meeting point because an equestrian arena was being set up for upcoming competitions, but we eventually found her by asking around. Would it be possible to give the local guides a small TripAdvisor flag or something similar so they are easier to spot? Other than that minor hiccup, the tour was amazingly interesting!
The grounds and palace are beautiful. This is a great way to get an overview of both. Antonia did a great job and her knowledge of history shined.
Toni was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable! She gave us a lot to f information about the palace and the imperial family.
WOW! Amazing! The tour started promptly...no wasting time or waiting around. Very well organized. Headsets were provided so we could all hear our guide, regardless of where we were standing in the group during our tour. Our guide was really great! She was fun to spend the day with and very knowledgeable, and she happily answered any questions that were asked. The palace itself is.... well...just how you would expect a palace to be! Palatial!! Every room we saw was incredibly beautiful, and the artwork was breathtaking. From the ceiling to the floor, every inch was carefully and intentionally decorated per specs of each room's purpose, and it was such a treat to get to walk through there.....This tour is definitely worth the money! After the inside, we walked through the gardens, and then we were on our own to enjoy the rest of the grounds. There is a labyrinth, a carousel, and a zoo....not to mention a great gift shop and cafe you should definitely visit before you leave. What a great experience! A must see here in Vienna!
A lot of walking and get there early. A.bottle of water is 5 euro’s. The grounds are enormous. A d the pace is fast
The Palace is great, the audio guide did not work very well .
Michael was such an excellent guide. He was one of the best guides we have ever experienced. Listening to him was like listening to an audio book. It was a very enjoyable experience. 100% recommend!!
The guide was great - very knowledgeable and she kept the group moving along. I appreciated that the tour included the gardens.
We rode the train from downtown Vienna to the palace, and it was easy to do. There’s a stop right at the palace. Our guide Daniela was wonderful. She knew a lot about the family who lived in the palace and gave great insights on our tour. The gardens are extremely large and you could spend two days exploring the gardens alone and they are very beautiful. I would recommend it even though we did not have time for that. There’s also horse and buggy tours that will take you through the gardens if you choose.
The guide (called eric i believe) had phenomenal know of the austro hungarian empire and it was great to hear the history of the region. His english was excellent and his instructions were clear, great job
Our tour of 20 people started in the gardens. If you weren’t up front you had no idea what was being said. It’s great that we could use museums audio boxes inside but you need to provide a way to hear the guide outside the museum or limit your group size. The guide did a nice job.
We recieved a lot of information in an entertaining way. It was very interesting. Please wear comfortable shoes. The tour is long.
