A wonderful experience. The orchestra played with such passion. Highly recommend for anyone looking for something truly different

Fabulous concert in an exquisite room was a fabulous end to our stay in Vienna. The after hours tour was a bit rushed, but without crowds we were able to get pictures of rooms with no people on it.
This was the best experience. The tour of the palace was amazing but the concert was the highlight. Almost 2 hours of Mozart and Strauss. Wonderful experience.
The whole event amazing - great to see the palace without the crowds - relaxed tour - stunning palace. The musical event in the palace was magical - a combination of Mozart and Strauss played by excellent musicians in a stunning setting. Well organised and well worth the £ highly recommend.
Recommend Not cheap, but very memorable The concert was fabulous, the sound quality amazing, there were also two opera singers who were very good
The palace tour was very nice. We loved the concert but were seated in the back snd couldn’t see the musicians. We would have liked a program for the music that was played.
Finding the ticket collection point was not clear in the booking information. Tickets were redeemed in the Palace at the tour entrance - a long way from the entry
The tour of the palace was a short, audio-only tour which included only a small number of rooms of the palace. Additionally, we felt rushed — the security guards were right behind us the whole time, herding us through at a fast pace. The concert was good, although the trio who plays a concert in the basement of Mozart's apartment building were better. For some dumb reason, we had to walk a long ways to check in for the tour and then walk all the way back after the palace tour to check in for the concert. Some smarter planning could resolve that and save ladies having to walk so much in high heels. The worst part was during the second half of the concert, the staff in the back of the auditorium were making a lot of noise—moving furniture around or something—which really detracted from being able to enjoy the music. One saving grace was the price included a ticket for a free drink and free entree from a vendor in the Christmas market.
For the tour expected some more. Just a walk through to various rooms. Thought we could grasp maybe re of the palace.
Wonderful experience, the after-hours tour was fantastic as there were only about 20 of us in the entire palace. And the concert afterwards made for a magical evening.
Collection Point for tickets is in the palace not out near the street. Don't rely on staff to give correct directions!! Wise also to check if there is an event on in the grounds, just re. building and setup works etc. You don't need 30 minutes from voucher validation to start of tour. suggest arriving much earlier e.g., 4.30 or 5.00, checking voucher, then going to gardens and a cafe/restaurant, returning by 6.50 pm. Audio guide is clear and enough. Note it has no lanyard so you might bring your own and remove before returning the device, if you need hands free e.g., for taking photos. Be aware it is quite a long walk from palace to the orangerie for the concert. Be prepared e.g., for rain etc.. also, if you are VIP, you can get your drink at half time so no stress about having it before the concert. VIPs get choice of seating but if you delay in the foyer with your drink, you might not get your seating preference. You can purchase snacks if you have missed dinner etc. Seats numbers are not allocated. The concert is exceptional and featured Mozart and Strauss when we attended. There is a small souvenir sales point. Taxis are ready when you come out of the concert about 10 to 10.15 pm. There are good bathroom facilities in the orangerie complex.
Nice palace tour and a good learning opportunity. The concert was good and at tge right pace and length. The highlight is the soprano singer who was phenomenal.
Informative audio tour, friendly guides available for any questions, absolutely wonderful way to see Shönbrunn palace without the crowds and with a fabulous classical concert to conclude the experience. The conductor interacted with the audience which was a fun addition!
Well the content of the Tour and Concert was fine. Problem was in the directions sent to me from Viator and the meeting point was just "Schonbrunn Palace". Entrance is a little hard to find and therefore we were late which didn't need to happen. Meeting point information should have at least some detail. It was blazing hot in the actual palace and the concert hall is very narrow and not sloped so hard to see from the back.
First learn about the people who lived in the Schloss . Then feel like you're back in their time with a wonderful selection of music and clever lighting
We were met at the meeting place on time. The self guided tour was carried out smooth and the group was not too big. The concert was great. We enjoyed it
Outstanding !!! From the palace to the dinner to the concert . Breathtaking the music was beautiful. The palace grounds and all the other venues beautiful and very interesting. The architecture is stunning. Europe is a beautiful place very old old history, one of my favorites.
Enjoyable tour of the palace. The audio guide lets you go through at your own pace. The concert was better than we were expecting, as we are not really classical music fans. The length was terrific and the performers were brilliant and engaging.
Ticket instructions are a little confusing but with some effort we figured it out. A call to the vendor helped a lot. The tour was well directed but the walk to the concert venue was a distance from the palace and you need to walk fast to keep up. The concert however was excellent. 1 1/2 hours with a 1/2 hour intermission.
Touring the palace after hours with a small group was nice. The tour is with an audio guide and is only 30minutes but tits is what I prefer. The musicians were outstanding. We really enjoyed the music. There is some opera singing as well the female singer was tremendous. There is a bit of waiting around before and after the tour that could be shortened but overall I would do it again.
It was nice to get to tour the palace after hours as a small group. The tour is entirely self-directed and you listen to a recording as you go through each room. It takes about 30 minutes. The concert that followed was very good with orchestra playing and a few operatic numbers by male and female artists. The orchestra takes place in a fairly small hall and it is not necessary to buy the premium seats to both see and hear everything.
Going through the Schonbrun on a private tour is fantastic, without crowds. The concert was also great with many pieces from Mozart and J. Strauss.
Excellent tour and concert. Concert was great filled with life and wonderful music. The palace was a site to behold with its amazing grounds and spectacular building.
Very good content the music was great and the tour also. Nice not to crowded and interesting place to see easy to walk! B
The tour after hours of the palace with few people much appreciated. The acoustic of the ballroom for the concert unexpectedly good and enjoyed the music. Some concert goers proved ill-disciplined despite being requested not to use cameras during the performance.
My sister and I had dinner at the Schonbrunner Stockl and walked over to the meeting spot before 7pm. Our guide was friendly and chatted with us as others arrived. We were given our headset device and then escorted through the palace. Since this was after visiting hours, it was quiet and not crowded. I felt we had plenty of time to listen to the narrative and enjoy the sights within the palace. Once everyone was done with the tour, we were escorted to the Orangerie for the concert. The room had a comfortable elegance and the performance of the musicians and the opera singers were amazing.
I feel so disappointed by my experience. The issue is when booking the tickets, I received instructions to go one area to receive my actual tickets however when I got to the venue, the location of this area wasn’t clear so instead of enjoying the Xmas markets at the palace, my friend and I were just running around for 1 hour trying to get our tickets. There wasn’t even any staff around to ask for help. When we eventually found someone, she was incredibly rude but at least she did point us in the right direction. The palace tour was good but by the time the concert started, we were stressed out and tired so we left half way through. I’m still feeling so angry about the whole experience. My advice to anyone else is save your money and time and book a concert/ tour elsewhere instead.
The exclusive tour of the palace was great. It was so cool to get to explore the palace when it wasn't super busy. The classical concert was also fun, but palace tour was definitely the highlight for me. Wish they could include food or snacks in this experience because it's during dinner time.
The concert was fabulous. The quickly rushed tour through the palace, though beautiful, was not enough time. They hurried us and said we’d be late for concert,, then waited an hour to be let in before concert started once there!
Watch out in Vienna. Tours require you to go to another area to get your ticket. There are no Skip the Lines in Vienna even though they are advertised as such. We had trouble locating the one person at a desk where we needed to get our ticket. They were not able to call or reach the tour guide. This is unheard of. Everyone is a phone call away. Also, there was another person who was just standing around not doing anything. She could have looked for the tour guide. We ended up missing the tour of Schonbrunn's Palace for 5 people because of the incompetent people and inefficient processes that you need to go through in order to attend the tours. Do not purchase this tour package. We lost a lot of money and we did not see the palace, which is one of the highlights to visit in Vienna because of the rude and unhelpful people. Obviously, we did not receive a refund as a result of their incompetence.
The evening private tour: It was enjoyable until the end. The two head tour guides refused to let some of us exit until everyone was ready to leave. There were many stragglers who were just sitting in adjacent rooms. After 15 minutes of continuing to wait in an uncomfortably warm room, one of the guides finally allowed us to leave. The concert: The director stormed out of the room when an elderly lady’s phone rang out before the music began. The director yelled at her. She and her husband were very upset. There are numerous diplomatic approaches to this situation. The director chose to be rude. We could not enjoy the rest of the concert.
The concert in the palace was very well done and entertaining even though we aren’t big classical music lovers. The tour was 23 minutes long listening to an audio recording and was in an extremely small part of the palace. The audio was not even updated as it talked about paintings that were not there. Very rushed low quality for as amazing as the palace appears to be.
We hesitated for a long time before deciding to purchase tickets to see a concert. Since there are six of us, it was quite a budget, especially since my husband wanted to sit in category A in order to better see the orchestra. What we didn't realize is that the stage is raised so everyone can see the singers and the orchestra. The deciding factor for us was when we realized that we could visit the Palace after hours. I would recommend visiting the gardens (6pm) before the tour (7pm) Then, head to the Orangerie at 8pm to get in line so you can reserve the best seat in your category. The bar is open ahead of time if you want to enjoy a drink while waiting in line. There is also intermission halfway through if you need a break. The concert itself was high quality. The singers were impressive. But what most surprised us was a solo violinist who was about ten or twelve.
The after hours tour is nice because the number of people is quite limited and there is no need to jockey for space to see the rooms. The tour can be done at quite a leisurely pace and the audio guide information provides interesting and useful context about the rooms. The concert was amazing. The orchestra played beautifully and for certain pieces (opera arias) an opera singer would sing the aria - there was both a male and a female singer. They were not only great singers but they acted out the parts and their movements and facial expressions were fantastic. They were lively, witty or serious as the role required. The orangerie is also lovely and we were able to wander about outside during the intermission. All in all, a great evening and really well worth doing in my opinion.
Too expensive. Nice pieces but silly, unfunny conductor who ruined the experience. Mediocre singers.
Wonderfulvenue. wish there was more detail on the tour. the concert was lovely and the musicians obviously enjoyed their work. The conductor brought humor to theevening
Amazing palace tour and a very memorable moving concert, loved every minute of it. Wonderful experience with our family. The talented orchestra, conductor and the opera singers were delightful and absolutely fantastic. a Must see event.
The tour was an absolute waste of time and money. We were rushed through the palace in 15 minutes, and given no time to take any of the sites in. We had a guard watching us the whole time and making us nervous to stay longer than 2 minutes in each room. We were then taken to a hall across the road and forced to take off our coats even though it was 10 degrees outside, and we asked to keep them on, but were essentially told we can't go in if we don't cloak our clothes. The music was good, but the seating was terrible and we could hardly see anything even with reasonably "good" seats. Do not waste your time. It was a horrible tour.
Really great to get a "private" visit but too short... Nice room & lighting, You can't choose your place, you are only placed in the asked category Quick concert, (only 1 hour) with a too long break (30 mn) too expensive for what it is... A little bit Disappointed so
Really awful experience. The tour of the palace was only a few rooms and was rushed. The tour started 30 minutes late. We were then made to wait in the cold for 2.5 hours before the concert started. We did not bother with the concert in the end. Not worth the time or money!
We received an email a day prior that the event was overbooked and that we could attend a portion of the original synopsis, but not all. When I replied to say we would not appreciate a partial experience and a refund was requested the reply was to take up the situation with Viator, not the vendor to which I was communicating. I have not heard back with a definitive outcome but am happy for the auto-reply to say they are looking into my refund. I use Viator in all my travels and am optimistic a refund is merited. We were able to replace this block of time with an alternate more expensive Viator experience that was wonderful, so it all worked out less the money we are out of to date that will ultimately go back to Viator anyway. To be continued lol
Positives first, The concert is fantastic and well worth seeing. The soloists, orchestra and conductor all performed the pieces in an entertaining and engaging way. Definitely do the concert. Now the negatives. Avoid the after hours tour. We were told to arrive at 5pm to meet the tour representative at 5.15. We actually arrived much earlier than this in the day and spent some time at the Christmas Market and walked in the grounds. At around 4.45 we entered the "Main entrance to the palace" expecting to see signage re the after hours tour, nothing to be seen. Lots of people like us stood around looking confused....and this worsened as the time went on. At 5.10 two young ladies arrive with a small sign saying here for the tour. At this point it's explained to the now 50 or more people (or at least those closer to hear) that in order to access the audio tour you need to scan a QR code which is on the sign (at floor height). So now the 50plus peoole (with more coming in behind) are trying to scan a QR code the size of a postcard on a poster at floor level. Obviously this is going to take some time....in fact the first group started their self guided tour at around 5.25pm The second batch which we had been pushed into entered the tour at around 5.40pm. Please Remember at this point the tour is advertised as running for 45 minutes and finishes at 6pm We had made a Dinner reservation at a nice restaurant for 6.30 which was easily enough time but this Chaos of a tour ment we had to rush through the 22 rooms and actually caught up and over took most of the first group. So why did it go wrong? 1 You need to explain to people in advance that they will need to scan a code to access the audio guide or better still give them the code in advance on the ticket??? Explain to the less tech savvy that they will need data or WiFi and provide the WiFi code and password in advance. 2 Have a representative on station on time or preferably before with a large sign higher that people can see explaing what to do.
Wonderful experience. Tour was excellent. Organisation at the start was a bit confusing with a private tour confusing the situation. However the tour of the palace over came that. Beautiful rooms narrated through the link on your phone ensured you were in control of the tour - the ballroom was particularly stunning. Then onto the concert which again in an excellent room was a great experience. The orchestra and opera singers were great. A great Viennese experience
Excellent Orchestra in a stunning venue, a great mix of Mozart and Strauss. Highly recommended for all ages and musical experience.
This is after opening hours tour, no one at the information center and the lady from the shop did not know where to go for my tour. The guides with the tour came unprepared, without English broshoure, and did not tell what to do (wifi and browse the site) until I asked. After the tour everyone go after the guides, and go and go, until the concert hall I asked where we are going and one of them say until the Diner. But I did not have a Diner revervation.... I had to turn back to the Schanbbrunn Palace (Christmas market) since the Concert hall was closed...
The concert is divided into two parts, in the first part, the orchestra played pieces by Mozart and in the second part by Strauss. Some of the pieces were accompanied by a pair of opera singers. The pieces that were played were not the most famous of the two composers, and there was no clear connection between the pieces.
The audio tour was great. Palace is beautiful! The orchestra was out of this world amazing! Great selection of music in a beautiful setting. I would do this again in a heartbeat.
We enjoyed both the tour and the concert. The ticket office was flexible in letting us take the two activities on 2 different dates. We learned, saw, heard and sensed the Viennese culture. One thing to improve - coats and jackets are not allowed on the concert and must be deposited for a fee. However at winter everyone will bring a coat. So either don't charge for the deposit, or include it in the ticket fee.
The tour was very interesting and the concert was fantastic. The only downside was that when we arrived at 2.00pm we were told our slot for the tour wasn't until 5.40. There was nothing prior to this to suggest that the tour was run on time slots and it left us with a lot of free time which given the weather conditions wasn't ideal
This palace was the most dysfunctional place I’ve ever visited. Charged me 4 times for same thing and still would not let us in. Wasted almost a whole day. And people were extremely rude.
