We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Hector. He took us all over and took us to a cute restaurant at the end of the tour for a delicious lunch where we had our first schnitzel. We walked a lot! Highly recommend!

Anna gave a great historical tour of old town Vienna. Pace was good and covered a lot of sites. Wished we could have gone through more of Schönbrunn.
We enjoyed this walking tour of Vienna. We saw different places of interest. Anna was excellent. She was engaging, energetic and knowledgeable. We learned a lot from her sharing. An added experience was riding the Subway (U-Bahn) to go to Schönbrunn Palace. The tour duration was just right. We did not feel rushed. Communications were good. Anna sent us a WhatsApp message the day before the tour to confirm everything. We were glad to have booked this tour.
We really loved this tour! The guide was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. The historical background and different perspectives shared along the way really brought Vienna’s landmarks to life. The tour was a fantastic way to get started exploring this beautiful city! Highly recommend this experience!
We usually really love Viator tours (though hate their App- more on that later). This was the only one of the four tours we did on this European swing which we didn't rate 5 stars. The guide was soft spoken and occasionally difficult to understand. The Shonbrunn is a big nothing (not her fault, it's what we booked). A series of rooms with out of focus TikTok type videos depicting the history of the place. It was big but otherwise not impressive and not worth the time it took to get there. Biggest knock on this booking was the failure to show us all the promised places. The following is a list of all the places we were supposed to visit but didn't see: Denkmal der Opfer des Faschismus (memorial in opposition to fascism in WWII), Stadttempel (oldest surviving synagogue), Mozart Wohnhaus, Hoher Market (also home to the Ankeruhr Clock, which we were very interested in seeing). So, at least four promised sites skipped. This was also the 2nd most expensive tour we did and felt it was not worth the $600+ dollars. We tipped out of guilt but were very sorry in retrospect, especially when we went back and reviewed what we had missed. Now for the App review (not the guides fault). Two of the four tours we had to call to get the ticket released to us. One of the tours said the credit card wasn't valid, though we had used the same card on the other three bookings. The App kept showing I had nothing booked, though we had four tours arranged. It also showed we had multiple messages, but when we clicked on that icon no messages appeared.
We thoroughly enjoyed our day with our guide Hector. He went out of his to meet us near our hotel and was patient with our needs for slower walking. The tour stops were great and we learned a lot about the city and its history. Highly recommend - just be prepared to walk A LOT!
Our tour guide, Fran, was very personable, knowledgeable and interesting to listen to. He took us on an enriching journey highlighting history, architecture, etc. He was very attentive and answered any questions we had. It was a pleasure to have this private tour. There was just three of us including Fran so we had his full attention. Our tour was booked for five hours which is the perfect amount of time. Overall, a wonderful experience. I highly recommend.
Anna was an outstanding tour guide and made our day in Vienna truly memorable. She was warm, engaging, knowledgeable, and shared so much about Vienna’s history, culture, architecture, and everyday life. We spent the entire day walking the city with her, and the time seemed to fly by. She kept everything interesting and never made the tour feel rushed or overly rehearsed. Anna was also incredibly personable and easy to talk to, which made the experience feel more like exploring Vienna with a knowledgeable friend than being on a traditional tour. We left with a much greater appreciation for this beautiful city. Thank you, Anna, for such a wonderful day. We highly recommend her to anyone visiting Vienna!
We were exhausted after days of exploring a ton of cities for a few weeks and almost cancelled the tour, but thankfully we didn’t!! The pace, knowledge and recommendations from our guide for our short stay in Vienna were absolutely perfect. We felt like we got a fantastic overview of this beautiful city, and it definitely left us wanting to return for more!! Great tour for a wonderful introduction to Vienna. Can’t recommend it enough!
Anna my guide was amazing. Super friendly and patient. I saw so many things on the tour and learnt so much about Vienna. Definitely recommend taking this tour.
Francisco was awesome. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Great way to see the city with personalized attention versus a big group.
Our tour was exceptional. Our group of 6 did this on our first full day, and it was the perfect introduction to Vienna. In addition to the tour, we were shown how easy it was to navigate the public transportation system, which made the rest of our stay much easier. You could really feel the passion for the city throughout the experience, and it helped us get our bearings while seeing the main highlights. Highly recommend!
Anna was the best and highly personable guide, gave an excellent concert recommendation too!
Our private tour guide, Anna, was the best! She asked us where we had already been in the city because she tweaks the itinerary according to your needs. She was knowledgeable, funny, personable, and was mindful of our needs (resting on a bench, water and/or bathroom breaks, etc.). I especially liked that she had bought our tickets to the Schobrunn Palace (included in the pruce of the tour) the day before so we didn't have any waiting. Anna lets you go to the attractions on your own and you text her when finished so you can meet to continue the tour. ***This is totally a walking tour, except when we traveled in the subway (you pay for your own ticket) with Anna to get to one of the attractions. Don't expect the guide to pick you up from the hotel in a car or van. Carry a water bottle, put on sunscreen, and have a compact umbrella because you are outside a lot. The lunch happens at the end of the tour (2-3 pm) and Anna left after we were settled with the food for us to enjoy. She also suggested how to get back to the hotel using public transport. Have fun!
We had great time with our tour guide Anna, who kept contact with us a week before the tour and was very informative. Couldn’t have asked for a better tour of Vienna
I was very excited about this tour. I have always used private guides in other cities and they have always been good. That being said, this tour advertised 5 to 6 hours as a private tour. The tour guide rushed you through saying a lot to see in four hours when I pointed out it was advertised 5 to 6 she slowed down a little. She had no enthusiasm at all. You could see it was just job when in compare it to other guides who loved their country and city and were so happy to help us discover it. Also, we were told that lunch was included. This excursion cost over 300 dollar a person and we were told we could have two drinks and share one lunch. I don’t see how that could be when you pay per person. I think Viator needs to scrutinize and inform their guides a little better. Like I said this was a first that I find their tours are going downhill.
Anja was a fantastic guide and we managed to see and do SO much in our day with her. She went above and beyond, helping us order a delicious lunch at a local market and making lots of great suggestions of things we could do in our time in Vienna. Her knowledge was impressive and she was incredibly pleasant to spend the day with. Do this tour! You will not regret it!

Anna was a fabulous tour guide. She took us to attractions that we probably would have missed on our own. We highly recommend her.
Wonderful experience, our guides Anna and Fernando were fantastic. Anna made history come alive through stories as we toured the city. Our guides were friendly, professional and knowledgeable, making our adventure into the city all the more enjoyable. Excellent communication leading up to the tour, no question was too small. Thank you both for an amazing day! Highly recommend
Great tour with Anna! She was very knowledgeable about the city and its culture and history. She was also attentive to our comfort, walking in shade as much as possible on a blisteringly hot day. As with other Viator activities, it would be less expensive to book directly with the local provider, which I this case was Local Cool Tours.
Anna was an awesome guide that gave us great insight into Austrian and Viennese history. We covered a lot of ground and saw many of the highlights of the city. Our time in Schonbrunn was limited, if I had it to do over again, I would’ve picked a tour where I did that as a separate experience. The ticket for the palace covered on a small area. The tour within the city was all exterior, we did not enter any buildings other than the cathedral. Of course it was a national holiday so many things were also closed. This was a great tour but if I could design it I’d make it longer and I’d include more time in Schonbrunn and more time exploring the city highlights as well.
We only had one day in Vienna so we wanted to make the best of it and chose a private tour. It was definitely worth it. We saw a lot of Vienna, heard interesting history and had an enjoyable visit with our guide, Anna.
Jakob was amazing! Super knowledgeable and friendly. He knows the city well and took us to places we might not have seen on a larger tour. I highly recommend.
This private tour was the perfect way to experience Vienna’s history and elegance in one day. From Morzinplatz and St. Stephen’s Cathedral to Naschmarkt and the Hofburg, every stop felt meaningful and well paced. An enriching, seamless experience we’d absolutely recommend.
This wasn’t our first visit to Vienna, and our guide, tailored the experience around what we’d already explored, showing us many spots we never would have discovered in a guidebook or online. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the history and answered every question with ease. Highly recommended.
Our guide was absolutely phenomenal. We really enjoyed the humor he wove into the tour while still giving us a clear, engaging overview of Austrian history. His storytelling made everything feel lively and approachable, turning the whole experience into a genuinely memorable morning. Highly recommended!
This was hands down one of the best tours I’ve ever taken. Cammi was an absolute expert on Austrian history — her knowledge, humor, and storytelling were remarkable. She shared the city’s past with such enthusiasm and warmth that it never felt like a lecture, but a lively walk through time. I learned so much that I left Vienna with a genuine affection for the city. This tour is an absolute must!
We absolutely loved this tour! Our guide was such a friendly and knowledgeable. The way he explained the history and added context really made the landmarks come alive. It gave us a whole new appreciation for the city. This tour was the perfect introduction to beautiful Vienna, and we’d highly recommend it!
We had such a memorable time exploring Vienna, our professional guide turned what could’ve been an ordinary tour into something truly special. His knowledge went far beyond basic facts — he shared stories, local insights, and fun details that made the city’s history come alive, and adapted everything to our group’s rhythm and interests, which made the whole experience feel effortless and personal. I’d happily book another tour with him next time I’m in Vienna.
I would give Anna 5 stars - she is knowledgeable and a historian, and was great at providing context to historical facts. (I love history and learning about less known facts). She was very personable and as a bonus, a great photographer! I am giving the experience 4 stars because the description said it included a stop for coffee at the Gloriette and lunch. The coffee stop did not happen (admittedly I didn’t ask the guide, which I should have but I was a bit shy about it). For the lunch (and the end), she took us to the restaurant and made sure we were settled but then left. We paid for the lunch as normal. The event description clearly says the lunch is included.
Our tour was truly memorable. Our guide, Sabine, combined warmth and knowledge with a genuine love for the city, tailoring the experience to what interested us most. Along the way, she revealed lesser-known corners of Vienna and shared fascinating stories that brought the history to life. A perfect start to exploring the city.
Our guide proved to be a phenomenal guide, Otis. He was approachable, well-informed, and genuinely enthusiastic, tailoring the walk to suit our pace and interests. His ability to share stories made the city feel alive. I’m eager to return to Vienna and exploring more with his help!!
Aida had so much knowledge about the history of Austria, the story behind all of the buildings in the city center and we really enjoyed the Schonbrunn palace and gardens. it was a fascinating tour with a great guide.
This was by far one of the most impressive tours I've ever experienced. Chris was truly an authority on Austrian history. Her expertise, storytelling, humor, and passion created a tour that was both educational and entertaining. I discovered so much that I developed a genuine affection for the city. Definitely take this tour—you won’t regret it.
It is full walking at a good pace for hours. Be fit and ready for the weather. There is a huge amount of information about the parts of the city, the Hapsburg individuals and the palace area.
This tour was the perfect way to start our visit to Vienna. It gave us a solid overview of the city, with just the right mix of history, culture, gastronomy, and useful tips for the rest of our stay. Lunch at the market was delicious and very enjoyable to stroll at, and the Palace was truly amazing. Eli was very knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. I recommend this complete experience and Eli as a guide
Elisabetta was phenomenal! Could Not have had a better experience. She is knowledgeable, intelligent, professional, kind and accommodating. I highly recommend her for any excursion you take in Vienna.
Excellent way to explore Vienna, visit key landmarks, and gain some historical insight. Our guide Federica was fantastic—warm, fluent in English, and incredibly knowledgeable. Lunch was dellicious. Highly recommended and well worth the price.
Everything perfect, Francisco is an exceptional guide, highly recommended
Good overview of the city. The guide knows how to get around well by public transport and on foot. It is good especially for those who are not able to get around independently.
Anna was very good at making us appreciate the wonders of Vienna in a day we enjoyed everything and we enjoyed listening to her good and competent
