I have never seen musicians perform with such excellence and joy as I did at this concert. The concert hall is beautiful and has excellent acoustics. The musicians were spectacular. And the musical selection was gorgeous. If I have to give one piece of criticism, it is that the seats themselves are rather uncomfortable. So bring a cushion and revel in the experience.

great night in a great venue and they upgraded my ticket which was a nice surprise but even the ticket I booked would have been a good option. Would be nice if they could ban cell phones and bottles as too many during my performance couldn't follow the rules or dropped them but doubt that would happen as sadly you can't change some selfish people but well worth the cost of a ticket none the less.
Stunning! Beautiful venue with first class musicians. If it is raining you are asked to put your coat etc in the cloakroom. Advice…use cloakroom in the basement by the bar. It meant we had no queue at the end of the concert.
The musicians of course were wonderful and talented and the music was beautiful, but the description of the activity did not make it clear that we were not going to be in the Golden Hall which was disappointing. The instructions on the voucher say to go to the left side of the lobby for your tickets, but it is actually to the right. The building was too warm so dress accordingly. You will also have to check your coat. All in all, I am glad my husband and I were able to experience a performance here, but the description should be made more clear especially for those that are visiting for the first time.
Experience of a lifetime! We were in the front row, and the musicians were practically in our laps. I don’t know the history of the location—a program with those details and the performers info would have been welcome. Such a uniquely personal experience. The performances were flawless and provided goosebumps on multiple occasions! Standing ovation!
The music and location were fabulous, but the venue was packed tight with people and there was no air. It was a cool evening in terms of temperature, but inside this theater, it was hot and stuffy. Also, small wooden chairs were uncomfortable, even for an average sized woman like myself. No cushion, straight back and very cozy with my neighbor. Beautiful theater but very uncomfortable - for 2 hours! The performance was spectacular though.
Ticket collection was easy and seats were better than expected. It’s an enjoyable experience for sure!
It’s a little overrated. Also, I thought the spa was included but it’s not. Staff told me without seeing my tickets that I have to pay extra. I was confused. Also, someone can tell the history or give everyone a chance to go under the spring. It’s a medicinal bath I learned after I left the place. Staff need to be friendlier and need shade over the pool in the summer.
It was beautiful, the music combined with the decor of the building made it an unforgettable experience. We are so happy we had the opportunity to attend, highly recommend.
The music was superb and the hall fabulous. Some stairs were needed to climb up with no elevator. The seats were solid but a bit strict. If you love classical music - this is the place for you
Amazing performances. Gorgeous venue. Loved the intimate atmosphere Both Vivaldi and Mozart pieces were beautifully performed
The program and musicians were superb. The orchestra performed pieces by Haydn, Mozart and Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. The venue acoustics were excellent but the seating was cramped and uncomfortable. My knees were crammed against the seat in front of me. I was annoyed by some audience members who chatted and used cellphones during the concert. The ones next to me were especially rude so I moved to another seat during intermission. But all in all, it was a terrific concert of beautiful music.
Little bit expensive for category 2 but glad to admire Vivaldi's Four Seasons in historic Golden Hall. Friendly staffs. We were required to put jackets in the cloakroom. Take attention on which side of the auditorium was correct because same seat number will be existed twice in the same row. Seats were arranged on the same level so view might be affected. Amazing Golden Hall. Skilled musicians. Two hours concert with about 20 minutes break. Excellent sound musical performances.
The concert was excellent. It was held in a smaller, ornate chamber with beautiful acoustics. The orchestra of 23 musicians was more intimate than a full orchestra, and we actually enjoyed it more. We did not know beforehand that it was a smaller concert so initially disappointed but it was lovely.
I didn’t get to see the musicians unless I stood up and leaned over. Description wasn’t clear. If I had known where the seats were which apparently were pre assigned I would have not booked them. We also had to wait a while to get our vouchers redeemed.
Outstanding performance . One of the best classical music concerts I have ever seen. Amazing first violinist!
Enjoyed a couple of classical music in a well known concert hall in Vienna
The orchestra was wonderful. The building beautiful but it did become very hot with no ventilation. I went outside at intermission but was locked out. Luckily my husband was able to let me back in.
Smooth collection of tickets. Performance excellent 😊. Glad we booked independently of tour company as it saved a lot of money.
My husband, son and I attended the "Mozart & Vivaldies Four Seasons at the Musikverein" in February. It was an experience which visitors to Vienna should try whether or not you are classical music lovers.
We are not classical music aficionados. We do enjoy the popular classical pieces when performed with other classical entertainment. This was 2 hours of obscure (to us) pieces that went on and on. Plus, the conductor was a self absorbed Prima Donna who seemed to think he was the star that everyone came to see. Almost every piece was arranged to highlight him. We have been to other concerts in Vienna where there was more variety and more recognizable classical pieces and were highly enjoyable.
Not clear on the tickets that this was in the Brahms Room and not the main concert hall. Entry and accessing tickets totally chaotic. Seating on wooden seats, like a 19th century Third class rail coach. No legroom. No air. Just able to see the heads of the players. Audience on their phones. No programme available. Audience constantly fidgeting and changing seats. The playing was good, and the acoustics terrific
The music played in the concert is good for common public. It’s not really for whoever is more serious with classical music, though.
This was our first classical concert and our first time in Vienna, and it was simply amazing. I wish we had been able to see the opera as well, but for first-timers, this is an absolute must. You could truly feel the love and passion these performers have for their music. They didn’t just play the music — they lived it, and they made us feel every moment of it too.
When you purchase a ticket you are in a section. I booked Category 3 Floor or Balcony. I arrived when the box office opened and was the first person in the door. When I got to the ticket desk, I was told that all balcony seats were gone and only one seat was left on the floor at the back in my section. This means that it is not first come, first served and the person should be prepared to get a seat in the worst part of a section even if they show up early. The venue was beautiful but my seat was terrible so now I know that being in a section is not good and in the future I would only buy a ticket with an assigned seat.
An absolute gem of a night. Fantastic , historic location with music that sounded awesome . Thoroughly recommend as part of a Vienna visit- Vivaldi in particular was great.
Music instrument mostly strings and sound exquisite. Second act included violin soloist with great skills. Seating was confusing because some rows have seats with same numbers and guests placed in wrong seats. Seats at same level so a tall person in front will block your view. Ticket pickup is confusing because so many doors to possibly enter and counter for tickets stated left side but was in the middle. Random seat given and for my section middle front row empty but was not giving those tickets and was empty during concert.
The concert was a beautiful experience for my wife and I. What a beautiful experience to enjoy classical music in Vienna. There was not an empty seat and we all enjoyed the musicians. The lead violinist was absolutely fantastic as was the rest of the orchestra. A perfect night.
We attended the concert in May; there was good and bad. The venue was pretty, temperature was comfortable, but the seats not so much- wood with only a very thin pad on the seat. Instructions to get seat assignments were unclear- not on the left of main entrance, but straight ahead, which is very important to know since there is a large mob pushing you through the front door when the doors open. All that said, the music was absolutely beautiful with a 23 person ensemble. The conductor played amazing solos- the show was perfect. Overall a nice night of classical music!
Superb performance from 20 musicians mastering their instrument and producing a great concert full of emotions. Sound quality that cant be replicated in your home. Must attend if you are visiting Vienna for the first time!
Staff unfriendly. Seats terrible. Left after intermission. Not enjoyable at all. Pass on this. Boring.
It would make life a lot easier if there were discrete signs pointing you in the right direction. After a bit of hassle we finally got our voucher exchanged and headed on a mystery tour in search of where we have to go. The venue is smalled than it looks at the famous New Years concert on television but it is beautiful. Take a note of which side of the auditorium you need to enter to reach your seats as the numbers are the same at each end of the row and meet in the middle. The decor is stunning and the concert super. By now we were experienced and found our way out quite easily.
As expected. It was a great experience. Somehow got better tickets than if I were to book myself through the website. Highly recommend the experience. Although touristy, the quality of the music was amazing and was a pleasure to hear for a classical music débutant.
The Concert Hall.is magnificent, the performers were outstanding! What better that Mozart and Vivaldi four seasons! Great atmosphere.
This was a concert and venue not to be missed! The orchestra was phenomenal and the building resplendent.
Amazing performance, completes the Vienna experience! The ticket exchange was easy and the seats were wonderful.
Amazing musicians? Check. Unbelievable acoustics in a world-class music hall? Check? Only the callous indifference of a surly staff implementing their arbitrary duties could drive this review down to 3 stars, and they managed it effortlessly ... and, oddly enough, it was the required coat check that tipped the scales downward. It's bad enough that coat check is required in the first place, but I could understand that after seeing the seating structure (which doesn't allow for coats to hang over the seats without bothering other guests). But do they have to be so mean about enforcing this?
We were made to wait until the very last moment to be seated. And then we were seated in the corner behind a post where we couldn’t see. Our tickets were not the cheapest so I can’t understand why we were treated so badly. Definitely not worth the price.
First time experience attending a classical music event. Very grand building and talented 25 piece orchestra. Excellent experience and highly recommended.
Wonderful evening of exquisite music. Perfect for any level of interest.
First night in Vienna… very special! Cold and crispy weather, was a lovely place to begin our weekend
Venue very interesting, but please be aware that not everyone respects the no mobiles rule which can be distracting. Would have been helpful if a staff member were on the balcony as a warning.
The classical master pieces of the performance was simply amazing. The Brahms Saal in the Musikverien is apt venue for such a concert. Simply amazed by the talented musicians
Wonderful concert! Excellent group of musicians! Violin soloist was incredible! Nice venue. Enjoyed every minute!
I never get tired of listening to the Vivaldi's Four Seasons. Beautiful concert hall. The seating was a little hectic. I wish they would tell everyone at the time of ticket pick up that it's mandatory to check the coats in and that they only take cash. This caused us to get inline twice. Otherwise the concern hall is beautiful and much warmer than a church. Definitely worth the visit.
This was an incredible concert! Such talent and impressive music. It was overcast before we were ready to leave!
Fabulous night and even better as we were upgraded for free, very talented musicians, wonderful evening we had.
Never having been to a concert of this type my wife and I whilst on a 4 day trip to Vienna booked tickets in advance We booked category 2 tickets and on collection of our tickets pre show we were on row 1 on the balcony just above the stage The concert was really good with 25 in the orchestra and the sound was excellent even although we only knew the spring section of Vivaldis 4 seasons The concert and encore lasted just over 2 hours including a 15 minute interval If you are in Vienna this is a great way to spend an evening
Had a great time! The hall is gorgeous, and the music was exceptional. There was a 1 euro per item coat check if you need it, and only one of them took credit cards. It was quite crowded to check in but the lines moved quickly. But still, get there a little early to make sure you get to your seats on time or you will have to wait for a break the program to get ushered in. There are refreshments available upstairs, as well as restrooms.
Very beautiful and amazing musicians.. the building was extraordinary, but coat check was a long process. FYI coat check on all floors., basement, 1, and 2. Bathrooms, Water and drinks in basement for pre-concert libation. . I recommend if you want to see the full stage of musicians, reserve on the first floor. We sat on 2nd floor and equally great sound but you needed to stretch your neck to see over the railing.
