We had a 48-72 Flex Pass. I was very disappointed that we had to wait for more than an hour for the Red Line when two buses were already at Heroes Square and the lady coordinating the buses was not fully aware of where any buses were going Monday, September 21st - we were at State Opera at 11.40 a.m. took the Blue Line and went to Heroes Squire at 11.45. Two Vienna buses were already there. The lady told us that the Red Line would be about 15-20 minutes. The driver of Bus 6909 at 11.45 a.m. was showing as off-duty. While the lady was smoking and talking to the driver, there was a Red Line bus that came by, but the lady had no idea it was there, so the bus left and many of us were still waiting there. I asked the lady why she did not get in touch with someone on the Red Line and tell them we are waiting. She told me "He is not my husband" We were many tourists waiting at Heroes Square for the Red Line bus, and at any time the lady was asked when the Red Line would come her standard answer was "in 15-20 minutes" She had absolutely no idea when the Red Line would be there, so we were all kept waiting uselessly At 1.00 p.m. I told the lady I will complain that we have been there for more than an hour. She then went and told the driver of 6909 what I said and he decided to take us as a Red Line bus. There were 2 other buses 6906 and 6908 but all were Off-duty. Tourists have limited time on their vacation, so waiting for more than an hour for a HOHO when there are 3 buses there, is a waste of our time. I think you should employ staff who do not spend their time smoking, but instead look after the tourists who are waiting for the buses. 8 of us have paid over $ 794.00 to see the sights of Vienna, not to wait for more than an hour to board a bus because the driver wants to smoke. On the MAK/Stubentor stop, the 6909 driver got off again to smoke because the Philipino man who was coordinating the buses called him. There were no people who got on the bus, but the driver spent time talking and smoking with this Phillipino. We had already wasted 1 hour waiting for him to start the Red Line, and within a few stops he got off again to smoke. On September 20th, the Blue Line Driver, was such a good driver. He did not get off even once to smoke, instead he got off to help the disabled people with the ramp to let them disembark from he bus. I will never book with Viator again and would hope that you give us a Refund for the frustration we went through on September 21st as our entire day was delayed because of the time we lost waiting for the Red Line Jean Mascarenhas email. jn.mas105@gmail.com

Had a terrible and disappointing experience with use of the Vienna Pass. Bought the Vienna Flexi Pass for 4 attractions during my Dec 2025 visit but didnt get to follow through with my attraction visits as planned. Please note that the Vienna pass is NOT a ticjet into the attractions! You need to exchange it for the attractions. Was denied entry into the Sisi Museum as there was no more tickets left for the day and the day after...a complete disappointment.
Absolutely do not recommend. I paid 44 euro for the Flexi pass with two visits and it failed to scan after one use. It would have cost 22 euro to buy a ticket on the door. A huge, huge waste of money and the people at the ticket offices can't help as it's not their pass system. Do not recommend. Also, at Schonnbrunn Palace you only get a short tour using the pass rather than the full entry - really a rip off in every way.
Highly recommend! This was perfect for our family of 3(including one 7YO) since we were able to use it for so many things! We used it for; the Spanish Riding School, the Schönbrunn Palace(state apartments and children’s museum), the Hop on and Off Bus to get us around, and the Prater Ferris Wheel! It helped save a lot of $ and gave us options. We did the 5 passes for 2 adults and 1 child.
The Flexi pass worked for us in a couple of places where we didn´t need to wait in line. In the rest of the attractions there were not so many people. However, the Hop on Hop off service was very bad. The drivers are not friendly, the first day we lost two hours on the wrong bus, they make two 15 minutes stops on each route, they park in the sun and if you don't want to lose your place you must resist. Unlike other countries, in Vienna the bus does not have air conditioning down stairs, and they are not clean.
We used the bus for traveling to a site away from the city and during a rain storm. All went well with the experience.
We bought the pass with 5 uses, the skip the line at museums was great and we used all 5 options in 3 days. The team at the office, opposite the Opera House were friendly and Informative when we picked up our tickets. Worth the money for us as a family of 4.
we got the 4 visits pass, we really had to do our sums to get any value from this pass and even then managed to save only a few euros... conclusion...not worth it! another tip avoid the danube cruise at all cost, it was one of the more expensive "visit" on the pass but a total waste of time.
I bought a vienna flexi pass from the information centre near Albertina. The sales staff doesn’t explain you properly how to use this and compare it with other pass. Would’ve used it better with some guidance/ tips.( I say this comparison with the Prague city pass, for which I was guided sufficiently and did not waste my money) With this pass, I wasted my money, more so because the staff at hop on hop off bus cheated me for their ticket!!z Buy this pass only if you are ‘very’ sure of your schedule and visit. If you are going to change, you may end up losing euros on this, with no help from the sales staff
Pretty good deal but worth comparing to ticket prices of the places you choose to visit as sometimes this can be more expensive. Possible to do 3 places max per day only. Some inclusions are not that interesting, Zoo, Palace and Leopold as are a must visit.
We purchased the multi-pass before out trip but at the sites we realized most still require you to wait in line to get a printed ticket. So not sure what value this provides. Also at Hofburg the tickets did not work and they sent us to the main Vienna Pass office. We spent way too much time trying to determine why the pass did not work on the attraction scanners. Since you need to wait in line anyways just purchase at the site directly.
Very easy way to see many of Viennas sights , just pick up our pass , in our local pick up point with very helpful and informative staff and started sightseeing, no stress no queue no bother!
The pass is great nut the Spanush Riding School could improve their entry system. Had to queue and then told we had to exchange pass for tickets. all quite frustrating.
We had a very enjoyable experience using the FlexiPass across 5 venues. Easy to pick up the pass near the Opera (we booked in advance). Hop On Hop Off bus is run by the Vienna Sightseeing company behind the FlexiPass and so worth it as one of the options. We also used the FlexiPass seamlessly at the Belvedere, State Opera Tour, and the Sisi Museum at the Hofburg.
I bought the flexi pass with 4 visits for 2 people. We used it to visit Albertina (fabulous), used the 24-hour hop on hop off buses and the 3 routes blue, red and yellow (very useful) , the Natural History Museum (it was nice) and the Schnonbrunn Palace (the garden was amazing). This card is advantageous if you want to visit a few places and reduce the cost (~ 30-35% less).
This is well needed in Vienna. It makes all the difference as you can skip certain queues, it has the majority of sites and it is cheaper than if you were to pay for them all yourself. Recommend this highly for your trip to Vienna!
The places here in veianna to vist is all of them they are all amazing . We visted most places more than once.
This ferris wheel is at Prater Park. It's a very interesting park who mix traditional toys with tecnological toys. I spent my time shooting in a target and running on a karting track.
It wasn’t hard to exchange the electronic voucher. We did the 4 pass. We could have done 5 in 5 days without trouble. The zoo is amazing! The Ringstrasse and Danube cruise were pretty. Not a lot of information in either, you’re just looking, not learning much. Pleasant. The Belvedere ticket doesn’t get you into the Klimt exhibit, you need a ticket to the upper Belvedere for that. All in all still a good deal.
Used the flexi pass in vienna. The main hassle with ordering the flexi pass on line is that you have to take your printout to the vienna pass centre across from the Opera house to collect the flexi pass card. collect the hop on hop off bus brocure and any others you will need while you are at the pass centre. To use the hop on and hop off bus you must get the card validated by a staff member with the validation machine before queing for or boarding the bus.At other venues they just scan the card.Good value especially the skip the line feature. When in vienna make good use of the UBahn underground trains.
Brilliant pass! Well worth the money, the hop on hop off bus came in so handy, to say you could easily pay alot of money to visit attractions this pass made those trips even more pleasent knowing it was already paid for, and the queue jumping was brilliant with an eager 4yr old. The childrens section on the buses was also fantastic made it a little more fun for the little one, we would definitely use again and need another longer trip back to Vienna
Quite a long way out of old Vienna (innerstadt) but if you have time to do it, do so for the Amazing!! views We had a Vienna Pass didn't have to queue for tickets, went straight to the line. Filled the carriages quite quickly albeit there were an awful lot empty for champagne flights etc We got to Prater by hop on hop off bus which was free with the Vienna Pass We went back to the innerstadt by tube, having bought a 48 hour travel ticket It's amazing that they built this fairground park so many years ago
We bought a three day Vienna Pass without the metro add on which cost each of us about £115 pounds. It was great value. You can use it at virtually all the main attractions, most of which have a fast line for pass holders. It has paid for itself by the end of the first day as you can also use it on the hop on and off buses (and one boat tour) which on their own cost 40euro each day (although you can get deals on those. I would say if you are a serious sight seer, in Vienna you need one of these, which you can buy online and download to your phone.
It was quite expensive at the time of buying and we hoped to get our moneys worth. There are plenty of things that the Vienna pass gets you into and it has attractions that every person will enjoy. For instance we used ours to get into the Schönbrunn palace and privy garden as well as things such as the zoo and the natural history museum. It is well worth the money as long as you go to as many places as possible.
I got this card online as I didn’t want the hassle Of getting my tickets at each place. The 5 visit pass was very useful! I used it for the hop on and off; Sigmund Freud museum, Johann Strauss apartment, Mozart haus and Belvedere museum. This is great as some places you can skip the queue! Very useful to get this if you’re visiting Vienna.
We used this over two days and had our moneys worth I think. Our visit was in the winter so not all the attractions are available but many are. So much to see and do in Vienna it would need to be a week pass to see it all. Would I get one again , yes and very much so if in the summer or Spring.
Great deal. We hopped on only a few steps from the boat, went to opera house, did indoor tour, well worth doing, walked all over the downtown, saw churches, shoppers everywhere, especially Asians beating the cigarettes. Enuf already. Vienna was better than the last time we were there. Very enjoyable. Nice folk.
It is a bit misleading. The ticket for Schonbrunn Palace does not allow you to see more than a couple of rooms, and to continue visiting, you have to pay. What you see with the Flexi Pass is less than what you see with a normal ticket to see the palace. Another thing that is poorly explained is that it implies that with the Flexi Pass you can get on the Hop-on Hop-off bus as many times as you want for 72 hours, but they do not say that it counts as an attraction; that is to say, if you have bought a 4-attraction Flexi Pass, for example, getting on the bus counts as one, and it implies that since you have the Flexi Pass you have that bus service without it counting as an attraction. With all this, in our personal case, we did not save money, and we were also disappointed with the visit to Schonbrunn Palace, which is one of the must-see visits. But not all of this is bad, the online purchase was easy and when you arrive at the ticket counters you show the QR code and it is fast.
Just don't do it again! He doesn't speak French at all. On the highway, just enough time to go to the bathroom, he left without us. Not friendly at all. Not a minute of waiting. At 1254 hours, the bus departed instead of 1155 hours. Very disappointed 😞
I wouldn't go back again. For schoenbrunn and hofburg, in addition to not providing a complete visit, requires booking the time by going to the ticket office, you risk not finding a seat and having to return again (returning to schoenbrunn is uncomfortable). Most museums are free for children so their pass is quite unnecessary. Hop on hop off buses make few stops. I mean, I wasted money instead of saving.
The children's flexi pass is not recommended, the museums for children are practically free. It is not recommended for seniors who still pay less in museums. It does not include the imperial palace in schonbrunn, also often has to be converted into tickets. Much to improve an abyss compared to the new York pass.
I bought the Vienna Pass to visit four specific attractions during my stay in Vienna. Two of them were completely “sold out” for two days, something that is never noticed on their website, even in high season. If I knew, I wouldn't have bought the card. I had to use other attractions just to not lose the money, despite not being interested. Customer service offered no real solutions or fair compensation. Lack of transparency, poor management and an experience that spoiled part of my trip. I do not recommend the Vienna Pass.
We took the flexi pass for 2 days because my mother-in-law walks with a walker. We bought 2 attractions / museums and you could take a boat trip. We loved it. We loved it. Almost all 3 routes looked at so we also came outside the center. I thought it was a great way to see this city.
Definitely not again!! The visit to Schönbrunn Palace was so slimmed down and contains only a measly part of the entire area. A cheek not to state that clearly. Everything had extra costs
We have to evaluate well whether it is worth it. You can end up getting fed up with seeing things and not enjoying the city well to pay the expense. Tickets to the sights are reasonably priced and you get discounted with the city transport card. High price in order to be repaid
We bought a two-day vienna pass and could only enjoy one as the second day we wanted to go to Hofburg Palace and it was closed. They didn’t give us any explanation or solution about it, they didn’t even give us this information when we were in the office making our reservation for the opera. Totally disappointed with this service and how unresolving they have been when we were 5 people and made a disbursement of 560 €!!!!!!
Unfortunately, with the Flexipass, the Schönbrunn Palace only a few rooms, only a few empty rooms, the most important was the apartments of the highnesses we were not allowed to view. I guess this is a total rip-off. We are disappointed.
Vienna always beautiful..second time in a few months .qs time in September in the weekend of the Boris disturbance .. so the weather a nightmare .. but the city is always one of my favorites .. a place that shows beauty in every corner .. I did Shonbrunn .. Recommendation grand tour 32 euro .. with the vienna pass you see only a few rooms .. At the max you pay the difference. But do the grand tour.. Then of course we saw the belvedere and the Albertina. Excellent..with the terrible weather that there was..the only way to survive were the museums
We took a Vienna FlexiPass and out of the 5 chosen events I absolutely recommend neither the “Danube cruise” nor the training of the horses. They're a fiasco. The first is a walk along the Danube arm watching parks and graffiti and the entertainment at school is just taking the horses on the trot. Better to pay more and book the school show and not the training. Nor is the room tour in Schombrum worth it. It's almost in and out. More interesting imperial tour. In short the Vienna Pass well but exclude those activities and pay for them separately
The original pass has increased in price a lot, so it is very suitable for people who are traveling in Vienna for 2-3 days. However, if you want to enter the Schönbrunn Palace Museum, remember to write a letter to make an appointment first. When we arrived that day, we found that we had to make an appointment before we could enter. We made an urgent appointment. There is also a place to visit. It is guided by a dedicated person and the whole journey is in English. I think it is quite worthwhile and the introduction is very clear.
If you plan to make all bcp visits in the city this pass is for you! It offers many interesting visits! In 3 days on the spot we made it profitable for sure. We did almost everything ... the tickets are sometimes cut lines so convenient.
Due to the price of admission to the various museums, this 3-day pass is quickly amortized. ATTENTION: in some museums you have to go through the tickets box often located outside the museum and get the entrance ticket for free, raging when you have queued and you have to go out and start again! In all tourist places or even restaurants, you must show your sanitary pass and identification. The surgical mask is not accepted, an FFP2 mask is REQUIRED.
Package a little expensive at first but very complete and economical at the end Numerous entrances from 3 to 40 € around Schönbrunn Albertina Natural History Museum .....etc with back entrances cut queue as a bonus In short this is very interesting Small flat the hop on hop off buses with irregular passages on some lines and no bus( hop ) in the evening. Provide alternative means of transport tram or traditional bus
Due to the weather, my plane's departure was cancelled. As a consequence, I couldn't use a previously purchased venapass. After contacting the managers by mail, I was informed that the funds would be returned within 5 working days. The money came even before. The service could not be used, but the attitude is friendly
It's a good buy. Includes almost everything to visit in Vienna and saves you a lot of Waiting time. The only catch I put on it is the visit to Schönbrunn Palace. It is nowhere indicated that to enter there you do not have the Vienna Pass, you need to get a few (free) tickets in a ticket office that, by the way, is not indicated and is outside the Palace. The girl who attended us very unpleasant: we were 5 people and had to enter at different times because of a mistake of hers in the tickets that she refused to correct.
We bought it with my daughter on TripAdvisor, thinking that with the phone everything was dematerialized. Unfortunately, you buy fast, then you have to look for the shop to turn your TripAdvisor ticket into a real pass card. No, thanks. Regarding the multipass, museums and coach companies do not know if they can accept...., Great stay but frankly, without multipass next time. Not: beware many museums are free for children.
We bought a card for 2 days. We organize the tours and reach multiple attractions. If you take count of what you spend at each entrance to each site, you realize how convenient it is. It's definitely worth it. When I get back to Vienna, I buy it back.
