Vienna Private City Tour: Palaces, Churches & Sacher Cake Option

Very disappointing experience for a private tour. Would not recommend this service. Guide was not fluent in English and did not provide very much commentary as we walked between the different designated points. Guide was nice, sweet and friendly but either had an off day or not ready for private tours. Tried to send private feedback directly to firm and didn’t ever hear back.

Blanca was very knowledgeable of all the attractions. She was very conscientious of our walking ability, kept checking we were ok.

Fran was superb! He was very informative and made the tour fun. He established contact with us before the tour and made the process effortless. He also gave us great tips for our short stay in Vienna. Our highest recommendation for future guests.

We had a great experience with Fran. Fran gave us background on each church and various statues/art we visit, Roman ruins that were uncovered, history on Vienna/Wien. The cake was a nice finisher on the experience. Fran was easy to talk to with on our questions we had, some had nothing to do with the experience but just for our general knowledge. He took his time to answer all of our questions for our understanding of Vienna, churches, architecture and food.

Frank was an amazing guide! He was extremely knowledgeable, communicative, and easy to understand. We really enjoyed the visit and learned so much about the history of Vienna, including its beautiful churches and palaces. Frank was very friendly and approachable, and he made everything easy and enjoyable to understand. We truly appreciated his time and would highly recommend him as a guide!

Anja was amazing very knowledgeable I will be recommending her to my family and Friends. The city has a lot of history. She took us to an amazing old simple church.

It was not what we thought it would be...or what was advertised. Anna met us at our hotel and we thought that was nice. But the whole experience lasted just under 2 hours including the 25 minutes it took to walk to the start of the tour location 😏 We were only in one central location, and some things listed on the tour description were left off. We felt it lacked depth. She seemed in a hurry to end the tour, which was supposed to be 2.5-3hours..all in all disappointing 😞

We had a wonderful time on this private tour of Vienna. It was an excellent introduction to the city’s history, architecture, and imperial heritage. We visited many of Vienna’s most iconic landmarks, including beautiful palaces, historic churches, and charming streets, all while learning fascinating stories along the way. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging, making the experience both informative and enjoyable. The private format allowed us to move at a comfortable pace and ask as many questions as we wanted. The only small disappointment was that the optional Sacher cake stop was accidentally forgotten. It wasn’t a major issue, but since it was part of what attracted us to this tour, we would have enjoyed experiencing it. Overall, it was a fantastic tour, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a personalized and memorable introduction to Vienna.

Anja was amazing. She was very knowledgeable about the sites in Vienna and was able to answer our questions. She even suggested other experiences to check out while we were there. The length of the tour was perfect.

First, our tour guide was a fine young man. Very personable and likable fellow. However, he knew very little about the history of the few areas we visited. The tour was more like a walk in the city while chatting with a local. Not much history. Our experience was a poor value for what we received. Maybe there is a way to request a knowledgeable tour guide?

I had a great time walking around and seeing some of the more well known areas as well as the not so known ones. Blanca was very nice and knowledgeable!

I recommend this tour if you’d like to get a quick understanding of Vienna’s history and a lay of the land (so to speak). Anna shared her wonderful knowledge with humor and wit. You won’t spend a long time at each stop but it’s a great way to see a lot in a little amount of time. Later, you can go back and visit those locations on your own with the knowledge Anna has passed on to you. Thank you, Anna!

Anna was incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic, despite the rainy and cold weather. She gave us a whirlwind tour of Vienna which is an incredibly beautiful city. We loved going into the churches and cathedrals where we could hear incredible organ and choral music.

This is a perfect tour to learn the history of Vienna and deal the famous landmarks. From the start to the finish the walking tour kept us engaged.

Booking a private tour was an amazing experience for our first weekend in Vienna. Anna our guide was great at communicating with us and we met up with her easily. She was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic and made our walk so interesting. In a historic city like Vienna this is the best way to get the feel of the culture and history. Amazing destinations, understandably limited time. If you want to explore further the place, this choice is not for you.

Our tour was in January, which was cold, but it was organized so that we could walk comfortably and visit sights where we could warm up. The tour ended with a delicious visit to a Viennese coffee house with a local dessert! Our guide gave us recommendations for dining and other things to do in Vienna. A perfect day!

Aida our guide was excellent full of information and friendly with a great sense of humour. If you are lucky to have this guide you will have more than an experience of Vienna you will learn history and feel blessed to meet such a wonderful person.

We were excited for the Vienna Gems walking tour and appreciated the chance to explore the city. We arrived at the meeting point 10 minutes early, but there was no clear signage, branded clothing, or any indication of who the guide was. Due to spotty phone reception, it took a while before we received a WhatsApp message with a vague description of the guide’s outfit. When we finally approached the guide, we were met with a rather cold and unwelcoming attitude, as if it were our fault for not recognizing them sooner. Communication during the tour was difficult due to a strong accent and fast pace, which made it hard to follow the commentary. The café stop at the end was a nice touch, though only one of us was offered cake, which felt odd. While we may have been jet-lagged and could’ve asked for more clarification, we hoped for a warmer, more engaging experience—especially at this price point.

The tour guide Aida is a lover of history and she shared a lot of in-depth knowledge with us. Her English was very clear. The sachet cake and coffee at the end was delicious

She showed us everything what was planned, and had a great knowledge about the city and the history. Viator is always hit-or-miss (we had a bad experience in Prague) This tour is definitely a hit!
