It was nice. Venue is beautiful. If you dont sit within the first 5 rows, you will not enjoy as much, actually you may loose engagement. Second, Asian tourists seem to not understand restrictions about use of camera and phones out. It was annoying. I left mid session

The setting is beautiful...the music wonderful All things combined made for a very special fun time.
Everything was beautifully done, the orchestra was magnificent. The Miestro was the star of the show, he even got the audience involved with the evenings performance. I would recommend this venue even if you're not a big classical music fan. I am a big country & smooth jazz fan but this event was out of this world.
Very enjoyable. Classic venue with marvelous music. Opera as well as classical music with a very engaging mistrow
I loved the music and the singing and especially the conducting! He was fantastic! So was the violinist!! She was amazing! It was a lot of fun! The only reason that I gave it a 4 star review was because I thought I had booked the concert in the golden hall and it didn’t look like what I was expecting. I am not sure if that’s actually where the concert was. It was still a great way to spend an evening in Vienna!
It was fun ..very entertaining..costumes were a bit dated… singers were good..conductor was funny..not all the guests were dressed as suggested..many came in very casual which detracted from the overall vibe
Feels like a must-do, to experience classical music in an incredible setting while in Vienna! The Vienna Mozart Concert in the Golden Hall more than meets that qualification. Tickets are not inexpensive but our seats were exceptional and allowed us to thoroughly enjoy the evening comfortably (first row between sections so lots of legroom) and with no visual impediment. I spent as much time looking around at the hall, which was absolutely exquisite, as I did enjoying the excellent acoustics of the hall. The performance was well-done although I found the operatic sections less enjoyable. The musicians are very talented and the pieces performed that evening complimented each other beautifully. All in all, a lovely evening in Vienna!
Do not upgrade to a special seat. I did and ir put me in the back half for an extra $50 and there were many seats closer empty.
The musicians were phenomenal, as were the singers. And the chance to attend a performance in a venue that beautiful is one you shouldn’t pass up! The process of exchanging your voucher for the ticket can be a bit chaotic, so just arrive plenty early.
Very bad seats and you are not able to pick your seats at the time of purchase with Viator the venue gives you what they want at the time you redeem your voucher. Go directly through the venue so you can pick seats. We sat in a corner behind a Pilar. Would not use Viator again.
Best experience ever!!! very vivid! I feel part of the shiow and music and performers the best! Highly recommended!
Entertaining and lively. Very authentic and Pleasant . Try to get tickets on the main floor or balcony .
Absolutely enjoyable evening. Musicians were excellent. Conductor was exceptional and engaged the audience as well. Soprano was truly outstanding. Highly recommend
I guess this is a must do in Vienna. We booked late (only 3 days before) as we hadn’t planned to go to Vienna. We managed to book seats, and had to get our seats “on the night” We went there the day before to make sure our seats were real, and we were able to select some balcony seats. We were in balcony 7 (also called 4- long story) row 2, seats 1 and 2. NOBODY else was in our balcony section, so we were able to move to the front of the balcony. View was a bit restricted unless you leaned over edge. Music was wonderful, although I think some pieces were a little fast for my taste. At the intermission we suddenly had a whole lot of friends who joined us in our balcony. People were able to move freely to “better seats” Concert hall was brilliant, music really good, although the percussionists looked a little board (they do this 4-5 times a week) The female vocalist was stunning, and the Violin solo was exceptional. Just wish it was New Years Eve, the traditional costumes would have been even more wonderful. Great night, but also a bit of a tourist trap.
It was a classic Vienna experience, a nice evening. It was walking distance from hotel. Took pictures outside, we noticed the line was pretty long so we waited since the seating was assigned. We had the superior level seats, which was nice because we were in front of our section and had extra leg room. Performance was fantastic. Played several Mozart selections, including some opera pieces and they had male and female opera singers for those parts. I preferred the orchestra pieces to the opera. They had a great floutist for some flute conciertos and Magic Flute pieces. The conductor was the best part, he got the audience involved and was a great entertainer. There is one break in the middle, but no drinks or food are sold so be prepared for that part.
Beautiful concert hall and very talented singers accompanied by a wonderful orchestra. Definitely worthwhile. I highly recommend going.
Excellent Vienna/Mozart music experience on every level. Great Mozart music, beautiful music hall, full orchestra, very exciting and animated conductor, great opera segments. All around a very uplifting and wonderful show!
This was a wonderful concert for a first time exposure to Mozart and opera. Music was good, costumes were fun. Beautiful venue. Easy to find.
Wonderful orquestra very entertaining! Costumes were increíble makes you feel you are in the era. Acoustics are amazing in the Theater.
Just go!! It’s brilliant. The golden hall is magnificent the musicians were absolutely brilliant and polished. Tbe singers entertaining and the their voices were … OMG. Just stunning. The conductor was a character d involved tbe audience. Overall a brilliant performance. Jaw dropping.
This was an amazing evening musicians were fantastic great to see them i period costume the opera singers were very talented and we loved the way the conductor got the audiance involved and partaking in the music. Would recommend
Highly entertaining and engaging fun performance. Well done. The venue is beautiful and has great acoustics. The only negative is you will wonder why the seats are so low to the ground?
The music, performers, concert hall, and costumes were mesmerizing. The maistro was entertaining and engaged the audience to clap with the music, and you can tell that he enjoys his job, smiling and happy. The opera singers were incredible. The costumes made you feel as though you were in the 18th century. I loved the music and would gladly attend this concert again! Mozart is always a crowd pleaser.
Think twice if booking May through October —while it has a Wonderful performance with excellent music and costume and the opera songs were a nice touch . Would have given a 3 if not for the performance — as it was DREADFULLY hot - no AC, no Windows and NO FANS- horrible working conditions for the poor performers - people left at intermission . To top it off- no refreshments snacks or water fountains Nothing - Asking for a medical emergency and a business venture just - could sell thousands of dollars in just water !!! If I knew the ci Doron’s and no beverages available I would have booked a different concert elsewhere as MANY to choose !
I was at a special concert at the Vienna State Opera. The tickets were quite costly. When seated in a Loge/ Box you will only get a good view from the front row. Be prepared to only being able to see small parts of the stage (which is totally normal, and because of the architecture). They played wellknown compositions mainly by Mozart, but also by Beethoven and Haydn. Perfect for guest that are new to this genre bit want to experience Vienna classical music and the Vienna State Opera/ or Music Verein. Very nice and helpful stuff.
Loved the music, the setting and the conductor really brought it to life. Singers and violin soloist were exceptional.
This was a beautiful event. The music was beautiful, the venue was beautiful. It was easy to pick up the tickets. The night was great! Thank you so much!
You'll be sorry if you miss this event. Totally professional show. Professional performances through out in a magnificant theatre. The whole eveing was fantastic with excellent choices in music and song! Well worth it!
Just fantastic. Paid a lot for good seats and it was worth it. Orchestra and sibgers fabulous. A really good atmosphere and such a stunning venue. Unforgettable!
Others should know not buy concert tours/tickets from Viator . My wife and I got a very bad seat after paying 278 Euros. Our view wad blocked by Musicians legs and chairs and we couldn’t even see the singers. At the time of purchase , we couldn’t select the seat and all could select was category. What a waste of Money.
What an incredible show. The costumes were gorgeous, they looked they they stepped right out of the 1700s. The musicians, singers and conductor were incredibly talented. All the instruments playing together was a stunning display. There was even some fun audience interaction. Definitely a highlight of our trip.
It has been a fantastic experience. Great atmosphere in the Golden Hall, excellent sound and vibes from the orchestra and the audience.
Definitely more of a tourist attraction than authentic Wien opera, however we still had a great time. Although, we did buy standing tickets on the day, which as students under nineteen only cost us €19, that made the whole experience a much better value for money in comparison to the outrageously expensive seated tickets which only had a slightly better view. The orchestra and opera singers were fantastic, though the historical costumes were slightly gimmicky. As for the standing area, it was not overly booked which was ideal, and, if you wanted, could sit down on the floor at the back of the room. Overall, worth a visit for the novelty, however, I would not go again.
Awesome performance in a majestic concert hall. The music was also out of its world, what a wonderful way of spending an evening in Vienna!
A fun night in a magnificent setting. We had heard the two opera singers a couple of nights before. And they added a lot too- great interaction. Highly recommended.
The staff and venue were superb. Also, surprisingly, I was upgraded to an upper deck with no extra cost. The venue has an impressive concert room, neo-renaissance design, and a feeling. The orchestra was really good as well. Tripadvisor booking was easy and simple to follow. That was the positive part. Although the concert is rather a tourist show than a music lover's concert. The venue carpets and chair textiles were dirty. The outfit policy did not hold; most of the tourist where in shorts and sneakers. The acoustics of the room are not so impressive. The lights were left on during the concert, which was weird compared to the other concerts. If the lights are on, the focus is withdrawn from the orchestra. For just the first experience of classical music, I would recommend this.
Great music and ambience. Only one limitation for us was that there was no air conditioning at the venue. It was a so warm in the concert hall that it made it less enjoyable.
Wow wow wow What an amazing concert Beautiful scenery, amazing music, and incredible atmosphere. Would highly recommend
Excellent but not fantastic. Female singer a bit weak. Conductor a lot of fun. Good rapport with the audience.
I really enjoyed this experience in Vienna. I’ve never been to a concert like this and wanted to experience something new during my travels.
It was a wonderful experience, although our seats could have been better since we paid for a superior location. We dressed for a truly magical evening, only to find it disheartening that many other guests wore jeans and T-shirts.
Ticket prices are a tourist rip off especially if bought via ticket partner ViennaClassical.com. They allocate you a zone, fair enough, but they don't tell you that some zones have zero view if you sit back in your seat. If you sit forward and lean over the balcony you can see the top of the heads of the conductor and the front row of the strings and nothing else. 69 euros each for a ticket with no view. At half time I sneaked downstairs to one of the empty seats, a lot of people moved around at half time. I could see more but as the seating is not raked, and the stage flat, I could still not see anything other than the first 2 rows of strings. The musical quality was good but a twee performance of people who didn't look right in historical costume (stubble beard and a white wig doesn't work). Would not recommend if you like a good classical concert.
Very professional and enjoyable. Lovely venue. Entire chorus joins orchestra and soloists for several pieces. Loge 3 seats a little tight for knee room but chairs can be shifted if neighbors amenable.
It’s a lovely venue at the Musikvereinen. The audience was diverse and the director kept the audience engaged with his gestures and animated directing.
During the booking thru Viator I was shown a seat max and selected expensive seats - at the time of ticket collection these were denied to me and I was given seats right at the back. I was told Viator could not have shown a seat map to me a what a rip off. Shame on you Viator
The music is great. Buy your tickets directly from the venue. We paid for A level tickets and were given seats on the top level with a view of the stage of less then 20% of stage. You buy the tickets but evidently they assign your seats at showtime with what they have. To pay over a hundred euros to not see the concert is a joke. If you buy direct you can pick your seats at time of purchase. It’s a shame the music was great it would have been good to see it and not just hear it
The concert was fantastic. It was entertaining and more interactive than expected. The only downside was the seating. We weren’t expecting to be seated on stage with the orchestra. It’s the same price as the side and you see the back of the musicians.
This is a tourist-magnet. The performance is great, and the musicians and singers amazing. But the prices are very high. You can definitely get the same experience for a much lower price. Since it’s very touristy it’s hard to really enjoy the concert because quite a few in the audience talk, film and clap throughout. We were also additionally unfortunate because were assigned seats behind a pole and couldn’t see the stage. For the price we payed we did expect better. Would most definitely choose any other kind of performance at the Musikverein.
I paid for cat 1 seating and ended up with cat 2 seating. You have to be vigilant with the ticket especially with a big crowd
Fabulous concert. Sat on the stage with the orchestra on the left side and could watch the maestro direct his musicians, which was highly entertaining. Soloists were outstanding. Despite dress code listed in ticket info, many were wearing sneakers and casual jeans, which apparently wasn’t a problem. All coats and shopping bags have to be checked in the basement. It is a MUST SEE concert!
