It was a fantastic day with Jan, an excellent guide. Punctuality, comfort, wonderful locations, a great lunch (recommended by Jan), and a fantastic wine-tasting experience! Highly recommended tour!

Richard was an excellent guide and gave us a knowledgeable and passionate tour of Brataslava, with stops at several castles and the Okd Town. He worked hard to meet everyone’s needs and requests and (frankly) was a pleasure to have as a guide. We would happily use him again and wholeheartedly recommend him and this tour to other travelers.
Good contact and updates from the company. At the last minute our scheduled guide had a minor accident and the tour was to be cancelled, but a substitute guide - Tadeáš was found at the last last minute. He provided an excellent well paced comfortable tour of Forts, old Town Bratislava and local foods finishing with wine tasting - in a carpark, but hey wine tasting is wine tasting ! Enjoyable day !
Nice overview of Hainburg, Bratislava and Devin castles, plus sights in Bratislava itself. The climb to Hainburg was a bit strenuous. We had a nice Slovakian lunch at Devin castle. Jan, our guide/driver imparted a lot of information and history. Very interesting trip, and only about an hour or so out of Vienna.
Mr, Jan Kaiser was very kind and helpful; always taking great care of everyone, explaining the history about every place we visit. It was great.
Wonderful tour of Bratislava. Richard was an excellent tour guide! He was knowledgeable, friendly, and made the tour both enjoyable and informative. We had a wonderful time exploring Bratislava with him.
It was a very convenient tour. Picked up at our hotel and parked very near sites. Only issue was, although our tour guide was nice and knowledgeable, it seems he was very new and could have been trained better on guiding.
The stops on this itinerary were very well planned so that my friends and I felt as though we had the chance to see and learn a lot without being rushed. Our guide, Richard, shared his expert knowledge of history and his native perspective on Bratislava and Slovakia with an enthusiasm and personal touch that added meaning to our experience of learning about the places we visited. He also encouraged and answered any additional questions from the group and sent useful information to the group via WhatsApp to help us navigate Bratislava and find good options for lunch. He asked for our input on timing so that our preferences could be incorporated into the itinerary. (He also reordered the itinerary for our tour so that we had spectacular afternoon views in Hainburg rather than visiting it in the morning rain.) The schedule allowed for a satisfying mix of wandering the charming streets of Bratislava and taking in magnificent views from the castles we visited. My group of three shared the tour with five other visitors and rode in a van that was full but still comfortable. We also had a great time sampling Slovakian wine and liquor (grape juice on offer as well) and getting to know our fellow travelers. Late October was an excellent time to take this tour, though I imagine it would be a wonderful experience many times of year. I highly recommend this tour to those who would like to visit Bratislava and castles with all the logistics taken care of by a guide who knows his stuff and knows how to engagingly acquaint visitors with his country’s past and present.
Our guide was local and well- versed in the history of Bratislava and the areas we visited. He was mindful of our needs and did all he could to make our trip pleasant and comfortable. We learned a lot and enjoyed the whole experience.
I absolutely loved it. One of the best day trip experiences I have had. Our guide Danny was absolutely fantastic. He was knowledgeable, very courteous and funny. Immediately put all of us at ease and set the mood for the whole trip. I also felt the tour allocated proper time for each of the travel venues. I highly recommend it.
So many things to see it Bratislava area. It was a good experience. Richard had many interesting things to share about each stop.
Richard our guide was exceptional, very friendly , polite and knowledgeable, filled us in on the history of the each place we visited, answered all our questions. We had a great time
Guide, Muro was amazing. He was friendly and knowledgeable and gave us time to explore, have lunch and relax. He even brought wine and Palinka to celebrate by the Danube at the end of the trip! Very blessed to do this.
Danny was excellent- full of information- really interesting. Very professional, friendly, and an excellent driver. Chocolatey treats and a wibe tasting - all from Slovenia plus he sings along to Slovenia music. Excellent time. Thoroughly enjoy it.
The tour was cancelled the night before - too late to book another tour. Communication with the provider was limited and three different people were involved. Very disorganized. Do not book this tour
Nice day trip. The historic center of town is so charming. Learn a lot from our guide Richard.
A lovely day Rich with history the weather was perfect and small town was walkable and full of beautiful sites and a great meal due to our tour guide Richard helping us find places it was a pleasant day.!! Richard -our tour guide was pleasant and very informative regarding the local and long history of the area! Also guided us to the best restaurants!
Vienna Guided Bratislava and Devín Castle Tour via Hainburg Operator - TrailTales, Karpatské námestie , Bratislava, SK, 831 06 +421908980372, pan.transfer1@gmail.com Trip 12/09/2026 - Booking reference: 1408331407, Advised Start time: 06:00 by email on 3 occasions. We were advised pick up would be 6am, the van arrived at 7.45am. I called the office and emailed - no response - ever ! Bad start ! Tour of Hainburg castle was OK, steep climb to ruins. Tour of Bratislave castle OK Tour of Slavin memorial OK NO Tour of Bratislava town, just advice from the car park on where to walk towards NO tour of Devin Castle ruin, just advice from the car park on where to walk. Nice lunch in the restaurant though Wine and palinka tasting was held standing in the car park. Guide Danny did not introduce himself, or ask the other passengers to introduce themselves. Quite awkward journey. Nice drive in the countryside, comfortable van. Maybe it was a bad day, maybe this is normal, not sure I would recommend.
It was very nice, well organized , great group, very good experience. Sasha was very helpful and friendly.
Our guide, Richard, was fantastic. He is young, knowledgeable, energetic, and quite good at communication. He is from Bratislava, so he really knew what he was talking about. The walk down from Bratislava Castle was easy and educational, with Richard telling us stories and history along the way. We had plenty of free time in town for shopping and sightseeing. My only complaint would be that the write-up never mentioned that there are substantial uphill walks to both Devin Castle and Hainberg Castle. Viacom should be more clear about activity levels for its tours.
We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Richard as our guide. He was knowledgeable, friendly, professional, patient, and incredibly helpful throughout the entire trip. Richard explained everything so clearly and made the tour both interesting and enjoyable. His knowledge of the history, culture, and important landmarks really brought the places to life. He was also very attentive to everyone’s needs and made sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves at every step. Thank you, Richard, for an unforgettable experience! 🙌❤️
A great day trip to see some amazing places - I would highly recommend! Enough time is spent in each place without feeling rushed, despite being on a tight schedule. Bratislava is great to visit, you do only have enough time to see “old town” but this is the main attraction and the reason we went on the tour. The journey was broken up by stops at different places listed in the itinerary and they are all fascinating and beautiful in their own way. Our tour guide and driver, Samual, really makes the trip extra special. He’s polite, friendly, funny and knowledgeable - the perfect combination for a guide of this type. Proudly showing us round his hometown of Bratislava full of history and culture. Communication prior to the tour was great - on the eve of the tour you get told your pick up time from your hotel. Which is early (07:20-8:00) but needed to see all the sights. Our pick up time did change in the morning due to traffic but this didn't really affect us. Overall I would highly recommend this day trip where you get to see a lot of really cool places!
The tour was not well organized. It did not have a set itinerary and we do not know if we really got to see what we should have seen. It seemed like the guide was improvising all the time. We travel to another continent to visit a City and you cannot be sure you actually saw everything you could.
Our guide Richard was hands down the best tour guide. He was very knowledgeable about history, architecture & famous people from his country. He was a wealth of information and made our tour extremely memorable. If you are in Vienna, don’t miss this excursion. It was an amazing tour.
A beautiful day tour I would highly recommend! Thank you, Richard, for a wonderful day! We appreciated your safe & comfortable driving, your historical knowledge, and your perspectives on culture. You patiently answered all questions and led us to the prime locations of interest and for best viewing. You treated us most specially, with the perfect balance of tour-talk and free time. You are a fantastic guide and upstanding young man! We had a fabulous, fun tour group thanks to your fine leadership. Sending all good wishes to everyone!🚐🏰⛰️☀️♥️✨
Where do we start, we’ll let me say that we absolutely loved our tour, Danny our tour guide and the day. He did everything possible to make it the best and memorable for us. He was curteous, kind and patient with everyone. This tour provided us with the opportunity to see things in Slovakia that we would have never known about to include Slavin, the Devín Castle and National monumental. At each location Danny explained important históry events which brought the experience to life. We were very fortunate to be a part of this tour and have Danny as our guide. This tour is highly recommended as it will give you ansight to Slovakian cultural. Thank you Danny you were very professional and we will never forget this day with you in Slovakia.
Ahmed is the goat. Best guide ever!
the experiens was very intersting and well organised
Richard our tour guide was excellent and was very accomodating .
Thank you for an amazing day, Definitely recommend !
Really enjoyed the Bratislava tour. Our guide was helpful, professional, and very nice.
Really enjoyed our day in and around Bratislava. Great that we could do so much in a day. Our guide Mura was was very helpful and informative. All the Castles were very interesting. Would certainly recommend.
Would have given a higher rating, but was not the tour that we signed up for and we were not given notification that our tour was combined with another tour. Our tour was combined with a castle tour of four castles (only visit the free areas of the castles). Views of castles were nice, but a lot of additional driving through the countryside, when not anticipating it. We did get to visit the old town on Bratislava and had free time to explore the old town. Also visited the grounds of the Bratislava castle. Guide was doing what he was instructed and salvaged the day, but it would have been nice for tour company to notify of changes in itinerary before the departure.
Richard was our guide visiting Bratislava. He was very knowledgeable about the city. He gave us a tour and then sent us recommendations of things to do on our free time. He answered all of our questions and took us to many different view points for the city. After the city tour, we went to Devin castle and had lunch. Unfortunately it began raining, but Richard had a couple options that allowed us to stay dry. It was fun to try new food and learn the history of Slovakia.
Tadeas was a wonderful guide and the reason I gave the tour more stars than I wanted to. The tour itself was nice, but they don’t tell you if you have mobility issues, you will struggle. I don’t, but another person on the tour did. I was supposed to go on the tour on Monday, and after sitting outside for over two hours, calling and messaging, the company finally responded. The initial pick up time was 6 am, and I never got the whole ‘what to bring’ message or anything adjusting the time. They finally let me know after 8am that the driver was in an accident an hour prior (so, still an hour after pick up time) and they’d have to reschedule to Tuesday. I incurred expenses due to this issue. I did, however, get the ‘what to bring’ message and accurate pick up time for the rescheduled tour. I will note though that the guide was really great, and was knowledgeable and nice to all of us.
I’d like to leave a review, but this tour was canceled on me. I waited outside my hotel for over an hour to be picked up no one ever came. It took me trying to reach out to the tour operators- who never answered the phone each time I tried. I reached out to Viator and they could not find out anything. I told them I wanted a refund since it was clear I was not being picked up. They made me fill out some form through email. 2 hours later I got a message stating the driver was in a fender bender and that is why I wasn’t picked up. Ok. Well, I don’t know what to say ?
Basically this was a glorified van ride to 3 locations. The guide was very young and not very knowleagable. He gave us the bare minimum information and was looking things up on his phone just as we could have done ourselves. We saw one castle ruin up close and inside as it was free, the next Castle we saw from outside only and the third was another ruin we saw from below. Basically it was just photo opportunities with basic information at each place. We had 2 hours free time for lunch in Bratislava which was way too long as there wasn't much to see or do. What we did see is other tour guides taking their groups around and giving them LOTS of information we just didn't get from our guide and he was also not knowlegable enough to answer questions accurately. If we had hired a car and read information online we would have saved a great deal of money. Plus the van only opens on one side and has seats that need to be lifted to allow people in and out from the back which is definitely not ideal for a tour with more than one stop. There are more user friendly vans which open on both side and the people in the back can get out easily as well.
It’s an interesting city to see. I recommend staying 3 hours. Less than this makes it difficult to see much of the city. We had an excellent guide and driver, Timo. I recommend Slovak Pub for lunch. Authentic food and delicious. I recommend the travel company give more accurate pick up times. I was told 6 am in an email which meant I got up at 5 am. The driver provided and update via WhatsApp. I was never told they would reach out using WhatsApp. My driver arrived at 8:10 am Not happy about the poor organization and communication.
George was very friendly and knowledgeable. Took the time to explain many aspects of the Slovak heritage and life. The town was small but nice
Did a great trip to Bratislava today. Murat our guide was a mine of information and made our tour very interesting and enjoyable. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone and give it an enthusiastic 2 thumbs up!
Our guides were very comical and fun. They let the travellers choose the pace of the day which was great. Our driver Rasťo was kind and shared his knowledge of local areas we passed through. Highly recommend for a day trip to see some beautiful places!
Mária was an amazing tour guide. This time of year had a small group and the times for everything was perfect. It never felt rushed and I definitely recommend seeing Bratislava. I will note that we did not go into Devins castle but there is a great view if you go by the toilets.
Guide Marko informed us in the evening that he picked us up at the hotel the next morning. Due to circumstances he was a little later than planned but had informed us of this. Marko is a good driver and a great guide and knew a lot about the city, the castles and the area. Highly recommended to get to know Bratislava with him. Educational, safe and entertaining tour.
Samuel was a perfect tour guide, who is enthusiastic about his homeland and provided us with interesting insights into Slovak culture and history. Thank you very much!
