A bit out of the way but definitely worth it. The cafe has some excellent food & drinks- would definitely recommend. Lovely panoramic view. Staff were lovely.
This was such an amazing experience! I often visit lookout towers when I go to other countries so I knew this was on my list. If you book online, you save a couple of euros however the price was fair. The price for the slide was fair for the attraction, comparing it to similar attraction in other countries such as the Adam swing in Amsterdam. We stayed a good length of time, you can stay as long as you want. We didn’t visit the restaurant however we visited the cafe and were very impressed that it slowly rotated giving 360 views of the city. The price in the cafe was also fair and what you’d expect. The coffee even had a chocolate stencil of the tower on which I loved the little touches. For an added price, you could purchase photos, just like at other attractions. I really enjoyed this experience and if I came back to Vienna, I would definitely go again. I’d recommend this to anyone I know visiting the county!
Definitely a must when visiting Vienna. The views are outstanding. We had cake and a drink in the revolving cafe at the top which was an experience. Cake was delicious. For the bravest there’s a slide on the outside of the tower which is fun.
We had a wonderful time visiting the Danube Tower in Vienna with our family on July 30, 2026. The views from the top were absolutely breathtaking, giving us a beautiful panoramic view of Vienna and the Danube River. It was a relaxing and memorable experience, with plenty of great photo opportunities. A perfect place to enjoy the beauty of Vienna from above. We truly enjoyed our family time here and would definitely recommend the Danube Tower to anyone visiting Vienna!
Enjoyed the tower and it's views. Used the vienna pass for entry. Go up in a lift and beautiful 360 views of vienna with areas signposted. Other things to do beyond the observation deck as well such as a slide and restaurant. Recommended.
I visited the Danube Tower to see the views over the Danube and Vienna. It was a perfectly clear day and the views were spectacular. I also had lunch in the revolving restaurant. The staff were very friendly and the food and service was excellent. I would definitely recommend a visit and would go again on a future trip to Vienna
Very much out of the way and was a bit to get there. But nice view to see all of Vienna from that point. Walking through the park was nice. Would be nice for elevator attendants to give a bit of history on the way up.
fun experience, the slide is really good
I visit the tower annually - a testament to how much I like it up there. This time, I did the slide and it was the best 17 secs ever!
I went with my mom staying in Vienna. We walked through the very beautiful park. It was really quick and easy to get into the lifts, and the guy in the lifts was very nice. I am under 15, my mom paid only 10 Euros. She paid 18 for herself, not overpriced at all. The view was good, nothing special though. And the electronic information board's inside away from the view which wasn't great. The slow rotation Cafe offered the best view. With a nice iced tea and I didn't order anything else just because I was not very hungry. The waiter wasn't very nice, and didn't speak and began ignoring us. The slide cost 6 Euros per ticket which you get for 1 go. Fun, daring, high, thrilling, bumpy in a good way, fast, and off the side of the tower going down 2 floors. Very enjoyable. Not busy when I went. The tower has a train stop dedicated to it. Very nice taking you around the park. Stayed for about an hour and a half but went by quickly. Overall very nice experience and atmosphere and best for a sunny day. Would recommend.
A trip to Danube Tower is worth the visit to see amazing views. The views from the top are amazing to see beautiful Vienna. There's a lovely cafe where you can sit and view and have lunch and drinks. Very slow steady speed, the tower rotates around to get the best views in different angles. You have a slide, which is fun and enjoyable for all ages to use. Enjoyable and definitely worth the visit when in Vienna.
The panoramic view over Vienna is absolutely magical, and the Danube looks especially impressive from above. The slide is a must-try experience — fun and a bit thrilling. If you can, reserve a table at the café or restaurant; even enjoying just a coffee up there makes the visit feel special. A memorable stop in the city.
Staff were very kind and informative. Great viewpoint, and nice cocktails. VERY overpriced though. It was €18 just for entry to the view point, then extra for food/drinks, and for the slide (€5). It’s not very central either so you need to get the train, and walk 15/20 mins.
It’s sad to see the degradation of Austrian culture. I visited the Donauturm 35, 30 and 20 years ago – each time with my dog. I’ve just learned that for the past ten years, “dogs have been banned on the Donauturm.” No doubt, thanks to the "new influencers” who are devouring what’s left of Viennese culture. Long ago, Croats protected you from them in Sisak – this time, you’ve let yourselves be culturally conquered. If you keep going this way, dear Wien, soon the famous grilled Stelze will be made of pigeon instead of pork, because it might “offend” someone’s quasi-culture. By the way – this is pure robbery. They sell you an entrance ticket for about 40 euros, even though upstairs in the café they tell you it’s closed, the slide is closed, the shop is closed – but the parking still has to be paid for. Better to throw your money into the Danube over your right shoulder and make a wish.
We took a trip to the tower on the dullest day of our break in Vienna. Decided to walk there, appx 75 mins from the bustling At Stephensplatz. The sheer size of the tower is impressive as you approach. Quick QR scan and you're awaiting the lift to take you up to the observation deck. If the weather had been better, I'm sure our views would have been better and it wouldn't have felt so cold. Worth doing all the same. Then we had a refreshment at the rotating cafe, getting more views in warmth and comfort. The tower is within a park, take time out to wander the park. It's quirky, well maintained and worth exploring.
This attraction is a little off the beaten track. In hindsight, we went out of our way to see it. But it is as definitely worth visiting. You can see for miles.
During our visit on a Sunday, the cafe was closed and the restaurant prebooking only. Great view, but facilities disappointing.
Amazing view, such a spectacular view. An outside viewing platform, and a rotating cafe. We had a fantastic time don’t miss
Paid the €19.90 entrance fee and got the glass topped lift up to the viewing platform.took lots of pictures through the metal bars and walked up to the cafe where i think that due to the lateness of the hour (near 5pm), we were lucky enough to get a seat. The cafe is a revolving one,and there are no bars across the windows. I would suggest you are better off getting the lift to the cafe, then walking down to the observation deck, and then getting the lift down from there.you can get better photos from the cafe and don't have to wheeze up two flights of steps
While Viator states that it open 10AM to 10 PM, they do not tell you that the upper deck and the slide closes at 9:00 PM. We went at 8:55 PM and by the time we took some pictures, they would not let us up to do either.
Donauturm (Danube Tower), Vienna – A Unique Experience The Donauturm offers a spectacular panoramic view of Vienna from its 150-meter-high rotating restaurant. The slowly revolving platform allows you to enjoy a full 360° view while dining—perfect for a romantic meal or a memorable experience with friends. The food is good, though slightly overpriced, but the view makes up for it. One of the tower’s most exciting features is Europe’s tallest slide. Spiraling down the tower at thrilling speed, it’s a must-try for adventure seekers. The ride is short but exhilarating, adding a fun twist to the visit. Overall, the Donauturm combines scenery, fine dining, and adrenaline in one impressive landmark. A great stop for both tourists and locals. We highly enjoyed. Must stop visiting spot.
We were a party of 4, 2 of which were wheelchair users. Our only option was to the observation deck. Unfortunately, the lift does not go to the cafe or restaurant at the top of the tower. We were limited to the cafe on the ground floor, which was very expensive. We felt that 20€ per person was a lot for the observation deck. Wheelchair users get in from fee.
Great view just a little out of the way to get too but wasok by train helpful staff . You can also eat at the top of the tower !
Excellent place to visit located in beautiful park and surroundings. Great value and fantastic sights of Vienna.
As part of a combination ticket with the zoo I would heavily recommend this, on a clear day. Makes the value worthwhile, especially with the unique slide to go down at the top (which is a shame you have to pay extra for). Staff were helpful and friendly. I think as a standalone activity it’s not a must-do - it’s out of the way, everything is far away from the tower itself and you can get better views from the city centre itself.
Super, fun experience! You can see the whole of Vienna from up here! It was a nice walk about 20mins from the nearest tube station - but you stroll through the park, so was lovely to be in the greenery. We did stop for a drink in the cafe - we knew it would be pricey, but less than some London tourist attractions - was 15 euros for 2 bottles of coke and a hot chocolate. You must try the slide! It was a hilarious, thrilling ride and you get to see a photo of yourself at the end! We couldn’t stop laughing!
If you love panoramic views, the Danube tower is a must visit. The observation deck offers a spectacular perspective of Vienna. Though it’s a bit outside the city center, it’s well worth the trip. I visited at night and the view was absolutely amazing.
Best views and best value for money in Vienna. Tried to time our visit with sunset but just missed it but managed to catch last light which still made for a lovely sky. Staff were welcoming and friendly and it was easy to get to via the underground albeit with a 10-15min walk through the park.
Well worth the visit and straightforward to get to via the U-Bahn U1 line, via Kaisermullen station. When coming out of the station there are brown tourist signs giving directions, and after ten minutes walking you can see the tower on the far side of Donaupark. The internal lifts have clear ceiling so you can see how rapidly the you are moving upwards. The viewing gallery at 150m provides a great 360 degree view. A little higher up the is the opportunity to go down an external spiral slide, the top half of which is clear. In our late sixties we decided this was a must do!! A little higher up is the rotating café.
This isn't easy to get to on public transport so we got a taxi. It is a bit pricey to enter - 16 euros, but I guess takes a lot to keep going. Worth going there, good views of the town and rivers, and also the cafe turns slowly round so worth having a drink her to get the feel of moving. Yes it is pricey and it is a short stay but worth it.
We had so much fun with out family & friends at this excursion. You can overlook the whole city. A beautiful park around the tower.
This tower is definitely worth the bus or train ride to visit. A very fast lift takes you to the top of the tower where you will find a revolving cafe and large observation deck. Take lots of panoramic photos. We went up on a very rainy day, but the visibility was still good.
It was a clear day when we visited so we had amazing views of Vienna. Danube Tower is located inside Donaupark which is a lovely and spacious park. The cafe near the top was nice and the staff were friendly.
Everything was perfect We all enjoyed a lot The person who served us was very virtuous friendly and always smiling He gets 10/10 marks We appreciate him
There isn’t a U-Bahn close to the tower, so we walked through the (lovely) park to get here. Upon arrival there is a short film you can watch before heading up in the fast elevator. At the top there is loads of space to walk around & the views are excellent in every direction. The slide is also a lot of fun & only slightly scary!
My partner & I recently visited the Danube Tower which is located in Donau Park outside of central Vienna. It wasn’t busy when we arrived and were whisked up to the top quickly. The views are outstanding with all of Vienna visible. Would like to return in the evening the next time.
I was pretty happy that i did not miss doing this while in Vienna for first time.. the weather was partially cloudy and bit rainy but up there a strong wind was waiting for everyone.. I was lucky to meet one guy of the restaurant to ask him if possible to get a table for a drink… and he was very kind to get me one… where i had a big beer and later on a coffee with sochertarte (the very famous sweet in Vienna), which the price (based on the location and place is very reasonable) PS. I booked the ticket online and was very easy access
The Danube Tower is located in the Donaupark and it is a nice walk from the subway stop through this park. The open terrace is at a height of 150 meters and the view of Vienna is really beautiful from here. With good visibility, you can also see Bratislava (the capital of Slovakia) from here. An elevator will take you to the terrace in 35 seconds. There is a café with a panoramic view, where they offer pastries and coffee. In a height of 170 meters there is a restaurant with a 360-degree panoramic view. An interesting attraction here is a 40 meter long slide.
Glad we did it but nothing exciting. Had to pay $5 per person for the slide. Kids enjoyed the slide, but something I would only do once in my lifetime
Stunning view over Vienna. Lift going really fluid. Slide down from restaurant level to viewing gallery is cool. Also, the park around Donauturm is a great place for a walk: Donaupark offers nice gardens, a lake, a railway, and several playgrounds for familis with children.
Easy to find using the Hop On, Hop Off bus. Great fast lift to the top so that in itself is fun. Cannot explain the views as so beautiful. The revolving restaurant was wonderful, staff friendly, can recommend the apple strudel. There is a little slide that you can pay to go down at the side of the tower. Needs to be done! Definitely worth a trip.
Arrived at 1830hrs on 13th June 2024. Paid the €18 entry each. Arrived at the top to find the cafe and restaurant closed. It was just a view therefore expensive, avoid!
The Danube Tower is a must-visit in Vienna! This incredibly high tower offers breathtaking views of the city. The fast lift whisks you up to the top in no time, where you’ll find a fantastic viewing point and a lovely café. I had a delicious hot chocolate while enjoying the stunning panorama. There’s even a slide for the adventurous, though I wasn't brave enough to try it. Highly recommend for an unforgettable experience!
When booking this experience through viator, you don't get tickets. I needed to email the vouchers to the ticket office on arrival, so ensure you have data to do that. Or perhaps a printing facility (this wasn't given as an optio, but surely should be) In terms of the actual experience, we went by train and had a lovely walk through the park to get there. Amazing views of Vienna from above. As we had gone to the town center the day before, we had fun picking out a lot of sights we'd seen. Reason for 4 stars is that it's a short experience - once you are up and have walked around a bit, taken pics and possibly tried the slide, unless you have booked a restaurant, there isn't really much else to do. Also the information monitors didn't seem to work.
Fun to experience! Up via the super-fast lift in no time (be sure to look up through the lift's glass ceiling!) Once you arrive at the top, one of the things you can do is go to a revolving cafe where you spin around in about 5 minutes. There was a very nice hostess/operator walking around who offered to take a photo of many guests. My wife had a capucino, they put the tower's logo on the foam with it, very nicely done. The tower also offers a slide but we didn't use that. There is also a promenade/outside deck with fantastic views over Vienna. The restaurant at the top was not open yet in the afternoon, but the café also offered something to eat like cake. Transport there was easy with a bus line 20a from the nearest metro station Kaisermühlen VIC .
I was fortunate with the weather so I had great views. At around £18 for an adult it's an expensive visit but you can extend the visit for as long as you wish. There is no time limit. Do try the resolving restaurant if budgets allow. It's a unique experience as is the incredibly fast lift to the top.
Enjoyed apple strudel & coffee drinks in the Cafe. Watching the children in the tube slide. The end.
Nope... Not worth the money...views are cool but it's not worth juggling the transport links. We were in and out within 5 minutes. (Didn't go to the cafe).
It's not that the view isn't nice (though not amazing) - it's the value-for-money. If I hadn't used my Vienna pass for it I wouldn't have gone there. Plus be advised - it's quite windy up there (got some nice photos of hair-in-the-wind though).
