The show was great. However, we booked through Tripadvisor. We were overcharged for the concert by TripAdvisor. The tickets were cheaper upon arrival at the House of Music. We would never use TripAdvisor in the future!
We enjoyed the experience very much. The musicians enthusiasm was infectious!
It was a wonderful evening of music at the music school. The musician were fun and made it a fun evening.
It was incredible to hear so natural and good 3 violins and a celo without cables or micros the quarted dit it so good all of them they play very nice. I will say to friends and the experience was very nice. My wife was also surprise about the music and the soul of Viena .
The musicians were top-notch. We were very impressed. And to experience them in such an intimate setting was thrilling.
Today we had the absolute pleasure of attending a string quartet performance at the Haus der Musik, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The performance was given by the Danube Quartet, featuring the exceptionally talented violinist Ms. Lucia Harvanová. Composed of highly professional musicians from Bratislava, the ensemble delivered a high-quality, technically flawless, and deeply moving performance. What made the evening truly stand out was the unique and rich program. Instead of sticking to just one era, they beautifully bridged the classical masters, playing a diverse selection of works by Mozart, Dvořák, Haydn, Beethoven, Schubert, and Strauss. The venue itself added immensely to the magic. The setting at Haus der Musik is remarkably intimate, allowing you to feel fully connected to the performers. The acoustics were outstanding, capturing every subtle nuance of the strings. Additionally, organizing the evening was effortless—tickets were very easy to access right on-site. If you are looking for a top-tier classical music experience in Vienna that feels authentic and personal, I cannot recommend the Danube Quartet enough!
Amazing musicians and music selection, and leaves you wanting more. However please make an announcement to limit phones. People in front row next to me were just scrolling on their phone, so rude and distracting to everyone there and I said something. An announcement before should be made.
Absolutely brilliant definitely worth going only a small and intimate audience but the musicians interacted with the audience and were quite funny they obviously work well together. A lovely evening. Marilyn
We loved this concert. Small venue to enjoy an amazing quartet playing fantastic classical music. An hour was perfect to fit in and the location was great as lots of lovely bars and restaurants close by. It was a lovely last night in Vienna.
We were at the concert yesterday and it will definitely be a highlight of our time in Vienna! The performance was excellent, the musicians were professional, and engaging (although each musician was impressive, we were particularly taken with the cellist. She brought so much drama and flair to her music!). It did not feel like a pro forma show for a bunch of know-nothing tourists. And the women were as wonderful to look at as they were to listen to. They are all beautiful!
We really enjoyed this concert. It was reasonably priced, conveniently timed, and about an hour long — a perfect length after a day of sightseeing in Vienna. The musicians were excellent, professional and very engaging. The sound was beautiful, and I really liked the interaction with the audience, which made the concert feel relaxed and lively rather than overly formal. The program included Mozart, Schubert, Dvořák and Strauss. My only small suggestion would be to include a little more Strauss and perhaps more of that cheerful, unmistakably Viennese music that many visitors come hoping to hear. Overall, a very enjoyable concert with wonderful performers, beautiful music and a great atmosphere. Good value and highly recommended.
Engaging passionate performance by four young musicians happy to show that the Austrian/German classical tradition is still alive and flourishing in Vienna.
The concert was really good, all the pieces were presented in an utterly professional manner, and was very enjoyable to listen.
Incredible concert plus visit to museum. Clever combination of large screen telling the story and introducing the music and the incredible orchestra plus a wonderful soprano.
We had a wonderful time listening to these talented and enthusiastic musicians. They introduced each piece with a bit of whimsy and humor. They were flawless in their performance and lovely to listen to. The intimate venue allowed for us to really see how the quartet works together to create beautiful music. It was a wonderful complement to our musical learnings around Vienna. Highly recommend.
Can appreciate the talent of the musicians and the complexity of the compositions, yet enjoy the music. It's chamber music in a smallvenue, not a full orchestra.
Absolutely wonderful. A pure pleasure to experience . No bad seats . And the Haus der Muzik is a nice place to visit outside of the concert.
Perfect. Comfortable, intimate venue, very talented performers, varied enjoyable program, good value. Easy to recommend.
Wonderful intimate experience. Very talented musicians who played all the well known tracks. The first violin gave very good commentary on the music which was much appreciated !
It was purely magical. There were various pieces played and the performance was world class. I would definitely go again.
Beautiful music! The selection of music was perfect and the performance was masterful! It is a small venue so you can hear the sound so well. One hour is the perfect length for a taste of classical music.
Good value for money. Nice intimate area. The performers were great and obviously enjoyed performing their music. We loved it.
No intro to artists. Not enough info about the piece they were playing. Poor seating. Very cheap.
This was a wonderful experience. The small, intimate area allowed us to feel very involved in the performance, which was at the highest level. The seats were comfortable, and the explanations given by the first violinist were amusing and informative. Our ensemble were all women, beautifully dressed and extremely skilful. Highly recommended!
We went to the house of music to listen to a quartet play Mozart, and Strauss. The place was small but good and the musicians created a good atmosphere and made you smile, laugh and cry. It was very good.
This was a live Vienna music postcard. We felt very special to be hosted by a chamber group of clearly very talented, professional musicians. The choice of pieces was excellent for for all ages and excellent introduction to classical musical. It felt like a tailor made mini New Year's concert in an intimmate setting. It was an unforgetable experience in an amazing setting. A must if you visit Vienna.
A wonderful, touching and emotional experience. Absolutely worth the money. Impressed and convinced with the whole quartet, absolutely flabbergasted by the Cello. Would go again :))
Excellent, loved it. Highly recommend.
After much research into which classical concert to book for my family while in Vienna, I am very pleased with my choice! We attended last night Sunday 8/16 performance. I'm not very knowledgeable about classical music and found this string quartet extremely accessible. I loved being in an intimate setting and having the cellist introduce each piece with a bit of information and humor. I found one hour to be just the right length. The more knoweldgeable and discerning musicians in my family also felt that this was a high quality performance. The venue was comfortably air-conditioned which was an important part of my choice to do this rather than a concert in a church. We would have liked to have the program further in advance but that is not they way they operate. They did send it to us at 7PM, on the day of the concert. I'll post here as a sample in case that is helpful to people, though the specific musicians and program varies I believe. Here is what I received one hour before the performance: Thank you for booking our classical concert experience. We are delighted to share the concert program with you in advance. The evening will feature a beautiful selection of masterpieces by Mozart, Beethoven, Haydn, Schubert, Strauss, Dvořák, and Brahms. Concert Program • Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – Eine kleine Nachtmusik, 1st Movement • Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – String Quartet No. 19, “Dissonance”, 1st Movement • Antonín Dvořák – Humoresque • Ludwig van Beethoven – String Quartet No. 4, Op. 18, 1st Movement • Joseph Haydn – Emperor Quartet, Op. 76 No. 3, 2nd Movement • Joseph Haydn – The Joke, Op. 33 No. 2, 4th Movement • Franz Schubert – Death and the Maiden, 2nd Movement, Andante • Johann Strauss II – The Beautiful Blue Danube • Johann Strauss I – Radetzky March • Johannes Brahms – Hungarian Dance No. 5 We look forward to welcoming you and hope you enjoy a memorable evening of classical music. Best regards, Wiener Klassik Ensemble
This concert was beautiful. The musicians are so talented. They played many songs that people would recognize and it’s only an hour so it leaves you wanting more. So happy we did this.
A remarkable quartet of highly skilled musicians performs a selection of cherished classical melodies from various composers, evoking the essence of Vienna. Their performance is both interactive and engaging. I wholeheartedly recommend it.
Look, when you're in Vienna you have to see a classical music concert at least once. We chose this at the last minute and didn't know what to expect from the House of Music. Category A vs B depends how close you want to be. Category A puts you in the first 2 rows in a room of 75-100 people. The stage reminds me of high school - one step away from the performers. Our quartet nailed 10 songs, half of which I was familiar with and the other half I thoroughly enjoyed. Great opportunity to hear wonderful music in an intimate setting over an hour. Would do it again.
Wonderful experience, very good music, small group atmosphere. Enjoyable annd well done!! Excellent!!!
Excellent. Absolutely fabulous musicianship. Our 2 teenagers were mesmerised and both thoroughly enjoyed it. The chat between the pieces kept the tone fun and relaxed. The Ladies of the String Quartet really seemed to be enjoying playing together. 1 hour covering some of the well known classics. Thank you Johanna. Only negative, don’t bother paying extra for Category A tickets.
Enjoyed the selection of music and length of time was just right. A good way to get a taste of music and very budget friendly
Had tickets to the concert tonight. The quartet of ladies were fantastic. The concert is held in an intimate setting and you can feel the passion that the musicians bring to the music. When in Vienna go to concert halls if you must. But, do yourself a favor and don’t miss these dedicated musicians.
Awesome. Absolutely stunning performances of brilliant classical music. Small and cosy and intimate venue
We all enjoyed the show! Everyone in the ensemble performed amazingly, with the rendition of each piece all great! What was particularly enjoyable was that each music was introduced and briefly explained and allowed for a bit of audience participation. It was an initmate show of great talent.
I thougt it would be a concert with a big orchestra in a big concerthall. M Could be I missed the information about it. However it was a musicquartet in a smaller hall this was a wonderful experience.
Easy to book Well organised Small ,intimate setting ,2 violins a cello and a viola playing popular compositions from the greats
Great value - the quartet played a mix of well known classical pieces and a few very different pieces. A very enjoyable experience
It's a must have experience in Vienna. The sound is divine and the musicians are masters. It was on our last evening in Vienna and what a treat it was to finish our stay with such a great performance. I would highly recommend this concert to everyone who visits Vienna.
String quartet provided an enjoyable 1 hour program featuring Mozart, Dvorak, Beethoven, Hayden and Strauss. Lovely evening!
We got the combo tickets for Mozart Museum and House of Music. Both are good experience but make sure you leave enough time for House of Music.
Fantastic musicians playing great classical music. Entertaining from beginning to end. Would recommend it to anyone.
Very small, intimate venue. Classical string quartet played beautifully. An enjoyable evening, would highly recommend.
String quartet led by Evelyn Reich performed very well. She was excellent, cheerful and interactive. Informal setting. One hour.
High quality musicianship. Very enjoyable evening. Good variety of pieces selected and warm rapport with audience in an intimate setting. Chairs could be more comfortable! But a minor inconvenience
The string quartet was absolutely riveting to hear and watch. Their performance brought tears to my eyes. There was so much passion from the individual artists as they shared the music from several classical artists. Highly recommend this quartet!
