Fast practical comfortable and very convenient. I was travelling with hand luggage only. The service drops you in the heart of town. My hotel was outside town. But it worked very well for me

Easy, friendly service, quiet. I highly recommend it. It was pleasurable to get to the airport on time and without a hassle.
Much a convenient method of transport from Airport to City Centre. Located in Airport Premises. 16 minutes comfortable budget friendly seamless travel.
We didn’t realize public transit would have been nearly as fast and about 1/3 the cost. That said we bought a return ticket and used a discount so it wasn’t too bad. The service was excellent and train was clean.
The CAT service provides a quick, safe journey to and from the airport. Easy transfer to the ubahn. Friendly staff. The local trains are much cheaper so catch them if you can.
Absolute joke. Ticket is three times as expensive as regular traintickets. Don’t fall for the aggressive advertisement.
If you need an elevator due to mobility issues, a stroller or just lots of luggage that skip the CAT from the airport. The elevator does not work and apparently has not worked for 3 months!
27 minute wait for a train at 1.40 PM does not make this a fast or even very convenient way to get to airport. Cost at nearly €15 one way makes a taxi for two much better value.
Easily accessible and efficient transport to the inner city of Vienna. Clean and comfortable transport.
Very easy to locate at Airport and end destination. Quick and convenient and cheaper than a taxi, easier than a bus
We have used the CAT train several times to go from the city to the airport; in 2024 were were unable to check our luggage at the train in the city as before, but there was no difficulty checking it immediately when we got to the airport. It is a seamlessly easy way to get to the airport and it runs regularly.
We had a layover in Vienna and we were able to use the train to go into the city and back to the hotel we were in at the airport. It’s very convenient, comfortable and easy to use and to find. It’s a non-stop 16 minute ride and the train was very clean. We got our tickets when we arrived at the airport and it runs every 30 minutes with multiple runs throughout the day from early morning to late at night. It was really great to have this as an option we got the rerun ticket which was €25 per person.
There Is no lift working to the platform, of you have heavy luggages you have to take them down the stairs yourself. More expencive than the normal train and it's not that frequent, of you miss one while you drag all your things down the stairs you'll have to wait 37 Min, while you see passing other 3/4 normale train to the city center. Not worthy at all, just take the normal train.
Very quick and convenient. Easy to buy tickets online. If you ride on the top deck you get better views. There are no stops, the train only goes from the central train station to the airport and back.
This is a great way to get from the airport to Vienna and back. It was perfect for us after a Sydney-Dubai-Vienna flight - trains are every 30 mins and the trip took around 15 mins. On the return trip we were able to check our luggage in at the train station with a super helpful CAT train agent, no queueing at the airport. Super efficient!
My ticket was not accepted on this train since there is an another company whith almost the same price for the tickets. Was fined with penalty €120 yes . Have travelling for 16 hours and all I was looking for is to get home as soon as possible. This trains should be running for free since it's only a few stops to the main station. To be catching people when at their weakest point it's disgusting I'm so appalled by the inspection services. LP
The train journey itself is fine and comfortable. The locker situation is crazy. One place that they suggest also does not have lockers. The Mac shop across the mall only opens at 9 and you have to book online even if you just go in there. Our train had only one working toilet available. The terminal is also one one side of the city really and not that central. Also beware AI answers. They do not check in for Ryan Air. There's a surprise.
the easiest way to get from the Vienna Airport to Vienna . None stop no way to get lost. The station is clean with food and shopping options at the station.
Great service to and from vienna airport service every half hour always on time would highly reccomend this service
Lack of clarity to destination and unhelpful head office staff Expensive and other trains are only marginally slower, or as we found faster. CAT fast airpot to city center green train. Don’t be sucked in, as we did at the baggage belt, to purchase tickets, as this train ONLY stops at Wien Mitte, and not Wien HBF (central station). There is no specific details as to where this train stops when you purchase tickets. Return tickets are slightly cheaper each direction. The CAT train advertises a “16 minute journey to the city centre”, but they neglect to tell you - The wait is longer for the one train to arrive at the station, when you could have been in a standard train that arrives sooner and takes a few minutes less than the CAT airport train. - No actual final destination station other than “the City centre”. Of course all visitors to Vienna know what station is the city centre —- NOT. The CAT airport train is €14 one way but a standard train (to the airport) is €4 We enquired at the airport CAT information desk to see if the train went to Wien HBF, and it did not. I spoke to staff at the CAT information desk who informed me that a refund is possible and a refund is a common occurrence, yet when i contacted the head office contact, via the web (as i was directed to do) they have refused me a refund of any type, even though they can see the tickets have NOT been used. We had to purchase new tickets for a standard train to WIEN HBF, to get to our desired destination. The RJ541 train is direct from the airport to Wien HBF and takes only 15 minutes to the Wien HBF from the Airport. Avoid this service if you do not want to go to Wien Mitte station. After many communications with the Vienna CAT support staff, they ignore me for periods and refuse to refund any monies to me, even though the tickets have not been used and I’m no longer in Austria. Not the type of service I expect from Austrians. After back and forth communications of refund denials, one lady has offered, as a one off gesture, will provide a full refund. I have also tried to request a refund on the website, (as it indicates, REQUEST A REFUND) but you get to a certain point and all they will offer is a new ticket for future use.. Even their website is misleading to request a refund. VERY DISAPPOINTING
Convenient, clean, and easy to use. Buying the ticket confised me a little between single or return. It should have been one way or round trip.
Yes the local trains are cheaper and don't take that much longer, but I didn't think the price was extrotionate and the ride was quick and quite so the service seemed good to me. I was in a rush so this suited me, if I wasn't in a rush or had planned ahead then I'd have brought a local train ticket, but in the moment this was fine.
Amazingly efficient. More expensive than using other trains from the airport but is direct and has plenty of room for the suitcases.
Normal ticket. Works perfectly. Just board the train and the worker will scan the qr code and thats it.
I was going to take the CAT from Wien Mitte to the airport for 14.80 Euros, as they advertised free luggage lockers and another close locker facility was going to charge 12 Euros just for storage (the official station ones look like they've been closed for some time), but they only had 2 ones large enough for regular size check-in luggage. And they were full, of course. So I stored with Bounce in the McShark computer store opposite for about 6 Euros and caught the local train instead.
Fast easy clean - I recommend this way to get to Vienna from the city. But - be aware - get a return as it's valid for a month (or 6 if you buy online). If you buy one from Vienna to the airport be aware it will say 'airport - mitte' - you haven't bought the wrong ticket it's just you can use a single for either way.
The service is a total scam; you should consider taking an ÖBB train instead. It is significantly cheaper and offers better value for your money.
We found that there is connection via metro from Karlsplatz to the airport so we went to the sale office of Wiener Linien on Karlsplatz and asked for 2 tickets to the airport. No problem, we bought them for EUR 9 - great price. On the bill is stated from: Vienna to: Airport Vienna. And we have been told that we have to change to the train at Landstrasse stop - which is Vienna central train station. It was a bit confusing to find the direction where to go but then we spotted airline stewardesses so we followed them. Train was there standing, we quickly went in and it left almost straight away. After being in for about 10 minutes a lady conductor came, we showed her the tickets we bought and she said they are for slower, regular train, not this one. But there was no sign at the Central station which we could follow. So we paid again EUR 14.90 per person. She told us that lots of people use the CAT express rather than the slower local train because there is a lack of signage or explanation and we should put claim to Wiener Linien. When we came to the end stop - the airport, we used the elevator (I'm using walking stick) and we found us in front of the airport building and needed to walk a bit to get inside. Despite it's a good service we think it's very confusing and really not well signed with the information where to go especially for the foreigners. That's the reason why I gave only 3 stars.
It was pleasure driving with this train service, on the time and ultra clean! Looking forward to having experience again!
Smooth easy to use and efficient. We paid around £21 per person for a return ticket to the city. You can go back and forward as many times as you like for a week.
Super quick transport into Vienna city centre. It only took 16 minutes and the connections to all other parts of the city were extremely easy from the centre.
Their exact aim “16 min non stop,, is the actual problem, because it always takes longer, and does not make any difference with the much cheaper normal train which takes 22 min for the same route.
I booked the return tickets on line. Once you arrive at the airport it is very easy to see the green signs for the CAT. Both trains to the city and back to the airport were on time, very clean and it was nice to sit on a double decker train. There are definitely cheaper ways to get into the centre and back but we were happy using the CAT.
Our flight was delayed and we arrived at 00.30 am at Vienna Airport. We wanted to take the CAT but found out it doesnt even run in the morning hours. Now my sincere question: What is the point in using an expensive CAT train instead of the cheaper S Bahn ? It doesn't even operate 24/7!!
Nice comfortable trains which provide a quick ride into Vienna town centre, we’ll sign posted to find once you’ve got of your flight
Best way to get to the city and back to the airport fast. Easy. Good value for money. Incredible customer service. Big thanks to Angel working for CAT who helped me out and went beyond what I expected.
There is also the CAT (City-Airport-Train) as a separate express train only for the airport transfer between Wien Mitte and the airport. The train reaches the airport in 15 minutes because it does not stop anywhere in between. The ticket costs twice as much as a trip by S-Bahn or train.
Unless you really want to end up at the so called Central Station save your money, get a universal Vienna Travel Card and use the U Bahn / s Bahn network system which also runs from the airport station and is more likely to take you to where you want to go. The City Centre waiting room facility is good but really, you don't need to use this CAT service at all. The crowds heading for the regular platforms at the airport station told us something.
Advertising everywhere to confuse you to use that instead of public transport which is slightly slower but way more cheaper. Just use public transport and save your money
This was the best and most cost effective way to get my entire family into the city center after a long day of traveling. I only wish it ran 24/7 for our 3am flight back! It was super easy and efficient.
Why use it? Expensive and just not necessery, takes 16 minutes for 14,9 euros! Train (s7) 30 min and not even half the price.
.most. memorable was the CAT train was not working due to technical issues. Thus I was stranded for over an hour before figuring out how to use an alternate train service. Why was I notified by email? The CAT had been down for several hours before my plane arrived in Vienna according to a CAT EMPLOYEE. I feel you owe me a 100% refund, not a vowture, since I will not be returning to Vienna.
Very helpful gentleman at the kiosk at Vienna airport. His name was Asad, he helped us plan our journey and get our tickets and gave us directions to the train.
The train is excellent but the cost for two or more people from the city may make a cab more sensible - particularly if you are leaving from terminals 1 or 1A as the hike from the train to check in is a lot longer than Heathrow’s. Think about it if you are older or had a big day hiking around Vienna through the Museums.
Yes, you can use the slightly slower local line to reach the city center for a cheaper price, and in hindsight, I should’ve probably done so. But without a comparison to another option like that, I can say with confidence that the CAT is clean, comfortable, spacious, convenient, and very accommodating of wheelchairs (i.e. no advance notice needed). Just flag down an employee on the platform, and they’ll get the ramp to use to roll onto the train. That easy! I appreciated the inclusion of three languages (German, English, AND Spanish) in the welcome announcements and safety videos (which were very entertaining to watch). There were plenty of areas to store baggage. The Wifi onboard was fantastic, albeit slow. It is evident that the folks behind CAT have put the effort in to ensure a more glamorous and very seamless, worry-free trip to/from Vienna Airport. Sometimes the peace of mind that you’ll make it to the city center without the need to stop, change lines, or pay hidden fees is what counts, and CAT delivered.
You’d be better off taking the normal trains to the airport at least you can take a luggage trolley from the platform. The CAT platform has none and never had any as I was informed buy one of their workers.
Extremely convenient and cheap transport to Wien Mitte. I transferred to U3 to get to Stephensplatz. Train is immaculately clean. Clear signage on where to go to catch train. Tons of green kiosks in arrivals baggage claim to purchase your ticket. I arrived on a Sunday so unfortunately stores at Wien Mitte Station Mall were closed, as were ticket offices. But I bought my U3 ticket to Stephansplatz at a kiosk. If you’ve been to Paris, London, then Vienna’s train system works same way.
The train was so easy to get to and was very clean. Very convenient to the Metro which took us right to our hotel. The person working the train was very friendly and helpful! Highly recommend
The CAT is highly advertised in Vienna airport and as you can see below even at the entrance to the platform from which it leaves. Unfortunately the 14 Euro charged is not warranted by the 6 min time saving. Yet from the same platform, the red trains of the OBB also depart for Vienna Centre and beyond for 2.40 Euro. The trains leave from 3 a just round the bend from the flashy green coloured CAT trains. So forget the Green go for RED the Viennese do!
It is little more expensive but who wants to be on the local train with hord of tourist and locals.CAT is always almost empty and u dont have to deal with anybody especially after long transatlantic flight.
