Disappointing, we thought we had booked an English Tour yet from the start on the bus the Tour Guide spoke in German. The words just rolled into each other so was very hard to understand. Then when we arrived at the Palace the guide was not loud and clear or easy to see as we walked through the crowds to the Ticket office (like you yellow jacket guide ticking us off at the beginning of the tour which was easy to see). We then had a great lady guide for the palace who was clear but again spoke in German and English which double the time it took to do the tour and there was no free time as promoted in the tour information. Not even enough time to go to the toilet or buy a gift. Again disappointing

Reviews
Nice bus tour of Vienna's highlights followed by a guided tour of the palace. Some reviewers commented that they would have preferred more time at the palace. But you don't need to leave when they do, you can remain on your own after the tour and take the subway back to the opera house (meeting point), or an Uber to wherever you wish. The palace grounds are enormous, and the zoo is not to be missed - you could easily spend several hours at the zoo alone! Eleanor was a fabulous guide. Some folks were put off by her moving us along, but the palace has strictly timed entrance requirements. Don't be "that guy" straggling behind risking it for the those of us who can follow instructions!
A great guided tour with free time to explore the gardens. We had Charlie as a guide and he was wonderful with excellent knowledge to share.
The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history of Vienna and the palace ad well. I would definitely recommend it.
Don’t go on this tour. We started out with the tour of the city where the guide pointed out everything in the city (pharmacies, apartments etc) instead of sticking to highlights. The bus was moving way too fast for us to get anything out of this part of the tour. We were so disappointed with the way the tour guide had no group control (pushing, people running into others) - total disrespect for other tour members and the guide didn’t say a word. The tour guide was too much in a rush for those who were not in the front of the group. He started talking about the next display with only the two in front getting any quality input. By the time the rest of the group got into the room he was already half way into the history. His way of separating the language interpretation was unorganized and confusing. He would say half a sentence in one language, interpret it in another language then go back to the original language he started with to complete his sentence. He spoke into the mic with spit coming out of his mouth. The noise that he made was loud and uncomfortable. We had no fun and got nothing out of a place that we were looking forward to seeing. We wish we could be refunded.
We met our guide at the agreed upon spot by the Opera House. We had a great 20 minute tour around Vienna where we learned about all the important sites around town. Then we drove to the palace where everything went according to plan. Our guide, Sophie, was excellent. Learned so much about the palace and people that used to live there.
Very Informative. Bus was comfortable and time was appropriate.
I booked an English speaking tour and got an English and Spanish tour. It was very hard to follow since the tour guide would speak them both. I wasn’t able to get much history out of this tour. I felt like this was a waste of money and it would have been better if I just went there on my own. Very disappointed by this tour.
Great tour ! Guide was vey knowledgeable . The only downside is he kept switching between English and Spanish in the middle of the sentence . It would be better if he completed the thought on English and the went to Spanish .
This was a nice way to have a city tour without needing to walk and quick access into the palace. The guided tour was very helpful in managing both the crowds and understanding what we were looking at at the palace. I would definitely recommend this tour.
Very good. Guide was kind and knowledgeable. Medium amout of walking. DONT BRING A BACK PACK! if you do, you will need to check it in, free of charge.
Micro did not work in the bus The guide was standing in front of me blocking completely my view and he was frequently leaning over me further stressing. Even after several attempts to ask him to move away Did not enjoy at all. His explanation in the castle was good
It’s really nice and the sight seen helps you think it should have an extra hour so you can have an opportunity to explore the gardens or the. Market as 20 min is not enough
Booking - via Jet2 Pick up - difficult to find location to be picked up OPERNBRUNNEN Language - English and spanish difficult to follow as jumped between languages City Tour - speeded around city difficult to see landmarks and absorb information provided Palace tour - extremely busy had to push through crowds Palace grounds - no time to see unless you missed the bus and find your own way back to the city Tour guide - extremely knowledgeable and assertive but pleasant to tour group Recommendation - try to book when not busy OR find a full day tour when not to rushed
Wonderful experience and well organised tour to a very busy and hectic site, excellent guide, Charles, adequate time to wander around on your own in the market area and informative guide through the interior
Tour guide was knowledgeable and respectful to all. Overall tour was well worth the cost. Nice to skip the line for the castle tour (no waiting whatsoever) . Tour guide was bilingual and provided information in both german and english during tour. The only downside we experienced was during the city bus tour portion. While the tour guide was speaking in the alternative language, we may have missed seeing the landmarks being pointed out as the bus passed them. . By the time our language was translated, we had already passed the building(s) being discussed. It would have been nice to know what we were looking at as we passed the city icon. Otherwise, it was a wonderful experience.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and witty. Perfect to day 1 in Vienna to orient you with where to go and what to do. The palace itself is only “ok” - not the most dramatic .
This skip-the-line Schönbrunn Palace tour was perfect for our short time in Vienna. It was well organized, efficient, and let us see the main city highlights without feeling rushed. Skipping the lines at the palace was a huge plus, and we loved having time to explore the castle and enjoy the Christmas market. A great way to see a lot in a limited time, highly recommend!
The tour as very good and very educational and meant you don’t need to buy any of the other tours of the city. The palace was lovely but the tour of it was rushed. A longer time would have been better. I don’t know if it is longer if the Christmas market is not there in the courtyard. 55 minutes was given to look at the market first.
A guide was most helpful and informative. The crowd was bad which cruelled the experience. Would still recommend any visiting Vienna to do.
The guide was very knowledgeable and interesting. She brought to life the history of the people, events and buildings.
It was informative and interesting. Our guide was succinct and well-prepared and his commentary fit the group he had.
Our tour guide was an older gentleman and was so full of knowledge, we were in awe. We he way switched languages frequently and often was amazing. He was a huge wealth of w!
The best guide ever ! great sense of humor , made tour very interesting and informative I would recommend
Beautiful palace, such history, and the gardens are incredible. Such opulence is hard to fathom. The family tree is wow!
Safe and friendly tour guides and bus driver. Excellent stops. Perfect tour for a one day in Vienna for a first timer. The only reason they did not get five stars is because I had signed up to be on an English speaking tour and the tour guide was a native German speaker who split 2/3 of the trip speaking Spanish for the Spanish-speaking folks and only 1/3 of it in English so I missed an awful lot. I wish it would’ve said that it was both English and Spanish being spoken. I wouldn’t have chosen that.
I liked the combination of bus trip around Vienna before going to Schonbrunn but not enough time to see Schonbrunn Gardens. Also, combining two languages translation does not work.
While my tour was booked for English, it is provided in both Spanish and English at the same time. I found this to be confusing. I do not feel that I got the tour I paid for. The dual language aspect was not indicated when I booked the tour. Since 1/2 the time was spent in a language other than English, I feel we got half the tour we paid for. I would not recommend this tour. Because the tour guide went back and forth between languages, there were times we were past the point of interest being discussed.
This tour included a drive through in Vienna before getting to Schönbrunn Palace. It’s a good idea to see the gardens before the tour of the inside of the palace
Over rated tour and very crowded. Tour guide didn't even cover the garden areas and didn't provide time to walk yourself.
We arrived before 915am but there is no one with signs or direction where to wait. Finally we found the tour guide. Tour was great and Chris was very knowledgeable and informative. You don’t have a lot of time after the tour before they leave on the bus so be aware of that as there literally stick to the time if your any minutes late you will be scolded. Also you don’t have much time to see anything else in the market. Otherwise the tour was good just the guides should have a little bit more patience.
I really enjoyed the Palace and looking around Shronbrunn. I think I would go without a guide if I went again because I think the tour/guide was more comfortable with an older audience.
It was a great tour the guide was very good , they took us to the palace , wonderful experience and a must do in Vienna .I think you should do it too .
Where do I begin? First the good news: The guide inside the palace was what a good guide might be telling the palace's centuries of history in 45 minutes. With all the chaos around brought about by 14k visitors (her info) she managed to do her best under the whirlwind circumstances. I have no complaints about the palace tour. However, the bus tour guide/narrator going around historical places in Vienna was an elderly man who may know all of Vienna's history, but he narrates all that in a flat, low, monotonous voice that people sleep while touring. It is not an exaggeration. He might as well be praying because that is how he sounds. Moreover, he does not give clear instructions. Most (MOST) of us were NOT able to see the palace gardens because when we arrived at the palace, he said we have 45 if we want to use the bathroom or eat. He DID NOT say those 45 minutes included the garden self tour. So, there we were our group of 10 people thinking after the palace tour, there would be a guided garden tour by our guide decrepit as he was. Of course that did not happen!!! I was upset and asked him before I got off the bus "Why is this called the palace and garden tour when most of us did not see the gardens?" He said the 45 minutes after we got off the bus was for the bathroom break AND the garden tour. Finding the bathrooms, paying 1 euro to use it, plus the lines to the bathroom... these can eat 45 minutes easy. If you are to take this tour know that once you get off the bus, either you head for the bathroom and/or get a bite to eat or you do the garden. Your choice! Unless you have superhuman powers you cannot do both. You would be better off buying a ticket by yourself and take all the time in both palace and garden. And oh, there is a bathroom right inside the palace's entrance and it is free. No need to pay one euro. One last very important thing, be very, very sure where your bus is going to be parked and what it looks like because the bus parking lot is very confusing! We did the tour in December 15, 2024. NOT FUNNY. May you have a better bus tour guide and may there be less people when you are there at the palace.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. We skipped passed the crowd straight into the palace.
Learning about Maria Theresa in the different rooms and how the Hapsburgs expanded their influence by marriage throughout Europe and their interest in the different cultures around the world
Excellent tour. Very professional, knowledgeable English speaking guide. Enjoyed thoroughly. Recommend to all.
Very informative, and quite a sight to see. The enormity of and artistic scale represented was mind boggling. Very impressive.
Guide managed the time very well. Unfortunately we did not appreciate much the gardens because it was raining
The palace was a stunner.pick up was well described and all well to plan, the drive around town wth live guide was moving quick but gave you an overall experience of the city, perfect for those who were only there for day or 2
I enjoyed the garden as compare to the palace. The garden was very beautiful. The driver and guide were very friendly.
The tour was a bit short, we didn't have enough time to go to the garden side. But overall it was great tour with transportation too.
The trip to Schönbrunn was well organized and very well managed. However, the Vienna Historical City Tour is not worth it as the bus just drives around a fe minutes to catch a glimpse of the notable sites but you can’t get down at any site. Would suggest that to get a proper city tour would be a better idea + the Schönbrunn palace
You need to consider if skipping the line is worth it. It was convenient to have a transport to the Palace and back to town and hear a bit of history of the city. My friends found out much more by listening to the recorded guide than our group. Every guide has its flavour, mine was boring to me. Heard everything I didn’t care about and very little what I was interested in. There are other ways to book tickets and not queue.
Could not attend the "skip the line Schonbrunn tour" as there was a death I'm the family, so lost my fee for this event!!!
The sites of the tour itself were well worth the visit although to properly visit the Palace requires a minimum of half a day, given its size (including the gardens). Our tour was mixed Spanish and English speaking, which we felt meant that we only got part of the information that would have been shared on purely english speaking tour. This was only a minor point, but when you are driving past points of interest, timing of the information sharing is important, and this cannot be achieved if the guide has to repeat the information in another language. So in the end someone misses out. The guide was knowledgable but did not appear too enthusiastic.
Took an english tour, had an english and german tour! 1 hour of city tour in the bus before heading to the site, not desired nor asked for. When getting to the venue, 1/2h of free time before the tour started. Tour started in confusion and was crowded. Very specific on 1 part of the Schoenbrunn castle (Maria Theresa), but nothing for the rest of the site ( Franz-Ferdinand/Sissi, gardens, etc).
The guides were excellent. Firstly the bus tour around ring road was very well commentated. Then the guide in the palace was great. Someone reviewed saying they couldn't hear the guide.... they must have had the ear piece turned off or in their pocket. The garden is amazing. We spent a lot of time after the inside tour looking at the rest of the property including the zoo. Allow most of the day to get the most of this wonderful place.
So unhappy with this tour. We saw nothing in the city & then waited a long time for tour. Our guide hardly spoke English. Do not suggest this tour
The whole site is breath taking house gardens and also went to a concert there only downside there are two many people at any one time and all the extra things you have to pay for
