Claudia was our guide- knowlegable and gifted with a sense of humor. She is an anthropologist. As such she was able to point out interesting things about the architecture and icons associated with the different phases of construction of the Hofburg palace.

I would give this a 1 but I’m not because the tour guide was very knowledgeable. I purposely booked this tour along with the other tourist that were there to see Sisi’s museum and the Apartments. They failed to mention that those are closed from 10/6 to 11/19. They only stated it when the tour STARTED! Everyone was as surprised as I was, especially since that’s the main reason I booked this tour.
Hofburg Palace was well worth the visit even though Sisi’s museum was unavailable due to renovation. Our guide Evo was super informational. Very professional. Recommend.
It was a bit of a disappiontment that we could not go into the Sissi museum as this was one of the highlights of this tour, it waz under renovation!! The rest of the tour was great, and tour guide, Ivan was great!! Loved the castle, i thought the horses would be in a more spectacular stable, but it was great to see them. In general, We all loved the tour.,.
Our guide met us on time outside the Hofburg Palace. After some introductory explanations about the Habsburg Dynasty and the Palace we entered the building and started with the Sissy Museum showcasing the life of Empress Elisabeth, wife of Emperor Franz Joseph. Our guide gave us many additional informations. Afterwards we entered some of the State rooms as well as the personal living quarters of Franz Joseph and Elisabeth. The end of the tour was a walk to the outside of the Palace, where we saw the building used by Maria Theresia, buildings of the Palace now used by the Austrian Government and received information about some monuments of other monarchs and military leaders. Our guide did an excellent job touring this expansive palace complex. Her entertaining style of talking kept the members of the tour interested until the end. Great job.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and personable. She adapted to a cold rainy day well. We liked that her speaker phones were worn on and not in the ear which was much more comfortable than ear buds.
This tour was well worth the money. I had been to the Sisi Museum before and I learned so much more this trip. Claudia was an excellent tour guide!
Virginia is outstanding! I highly recommend
Our guide was very knowingly this tour 10/10. She was from the area and k ew a lot about the Emporess
Fantastic tour with Deter. Highly recommend!
I did the tour with Raffa... Amazing guide, explained us through everything, gave us various miscellaneous and interesting details about the Empress's life, and was very enjoyable in general. The museum was very nice. Only complaint I have was that many rooms were covered by the exhibition's covering, not allowing at times to see the rooms in their full splendour. But it was amazing nonetheless.
Great guide and amazing tour. Well organized and fun. Si Si museum has narrow hallways, hopefully more space will be allowed in the future. Our guide took extra time to position or group in most efficient way. Thanks!
Excellent guide for this tour. She is an archeologist and provided informative history and detail with fun commentary. The museum can be crowded due to narrow passages but she navigated all of it well, and kept us prepared! Thank you!
Engaging, story-driven storytelling by knowledgeable guide Stefan; a well-rounded route covering the Sisi Museum, Imperial Apartments, and the surrounding Hofburg grounds and gardens.
Our guide was so pleasant and organized. Her tour rapt the crowd ranging from kids to older adults. She was informative and funny. It was a very hot day and the tour moved at a pace and route that considered the comfort of our group in those beautiful old buildings without central air.
It was not really necessary to skip the line; there was no line. The guide was just ok. The real problem was the headset. It was only available in the right ear, which is a problem if you are deaf in that ear. Had to wear the unit upside down and hold it, which was very problematic.
We had Mark as our tour guide. He was incredible. The tour was extremely informative and he made it humorous as well.
Great experience with a knowledgeable guide. It’s not a large museum and gets backed up so having a guide help move you in and explain as you go is a big plus!!
My family enjoyed the tour which we found very informative and enriching. Our guide was very helpful, patient and helpful and showed concern if my mom (who is 80+) was enjoying herself or had any discomfort. Truly hospitable while being knowledgeable.
Great trip! Learned about Sisi’s life
The tour was quite long and not too interesting. Everything could have been covered in 60-75 minutes.
It’s a lot of information but our guide, Bernadette did a great job explaining and organizing. Museum was crowded so headsets helped.
Michael was a great guide. He gave us a lot of information in an entertaining manner.
Michael was a great tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and kept us out of the sun and the pace of the tour was great
Not like “The Empress” on Netflix. Definitely worth it if you are interested in seeing the inside of the Hofburg.
Excellent tour. Interesting, organised, funny and enjoyable. Our guide knew everything. First rate.
Julia, our guide, was very knowledgeable and engaging. I recommend this tour if you are interested in Franz Joseph and Elizabeth.
We really enjoyed this tour. Our tour guide Michael was the best! Good pace, interesting, and very entertaining.
The tour was great, the guide Barbara was very friendly and knowledgeable and made the tour really interesting.
This was a fascinating tour. Barbara is a personable, knowledgeable guide who did a great job answering questions and explaining the complicated life of Sisi. Really enjoyed learning additional facts than what I already knew from the excellent Netflix series. Loved it; highly recommend!
Our tour guide was excellent!!! Not only did we learn a great deal, but with her engaging humor we had a great time!
Our guide, I believe his name was Evan, was excellent. He had great audio devices, was very knowledgeable and corralled the group efficiently.
Good tour guide with a wealth of knowledge but headsets kept going in and out so it was impossible to hear all of the tour. It was also very crowded and felt a smaller group would’ve let us be closer to the guide.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and made the tour very enjoyable. They explained the history of the palace from the outside, and then we toured the inside, where most of the Sisi items and history are explained.
Great experience. My Cissy loves Sisi.
Our tour guide was really lovely and knew her stuff! But it was hard to hear her if you got behind, or to see what she was gesturing to/talking about. Some of the rooms are really small so it’s impossible for the whole group to be nearby. There wasn’t really a line to slip when we arrived at 1:00, so honestly I think I’d have preferred to go through the exhibits on our own with the audio guide.
Amazing tour! We spent the first hour inside the museum and the second half outside learning about important parts of the palace and grounds nearby. I learned so much and it was very interesting!
Great tour!! You can easily see the museum on your own with the supplied listening device, but the guide provides so much more information. Self guided people breezed by, while we enjoyed stories with depth that tremendously enhanced the experience. Our guide was exceptional.
The tour guide was very knowledgeable and inclusive. The museum itself was gorgeous. I would highly recommend this tour
This was an excellent tour with a comprehensive overview of Austrian history as a whole! Claudia was a great guide! She was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and very well paced.
Our Guide , Celine, was wonderful! Very knowledgeable about the palace. We had a great time and would recommend it
Great, informative tour. We learned a lot and it was very well organized. Would recommend. Thank you, Diana!
Our guide Michael was very knowledgeable and made the tour very interesting and fun. We saw not only the inside of the palace but also the gardens.
The pace of the tour and what was seen was excellent. Michael, our tour guide made the tour worthwhile with his knowledge and personable presentation.
Seline was an amazing guide for the Sisi museum! Not only did she know so much about the history of Sisi, but she also knew a lot about the numerous structures in Vienna like the heroe statues on horses and the statues holding up the golden globes on top of the library! Highly recommend her! She also knew every party in her group by name almost immediately making the experience extremely personable. Great experience thanks to Seline!
Not only about Sissi' but whole dynamics of the Austro Hungarian Empire at the time. Brilliant. Your guide really new her history
We had the chance to have this great tour with Michael today, he is such a great tour guide, I strongly recommend this tour with him.
Mark is an outstanding guide. The museum is fascinating when toured with an expert.
Informative and a nice paced tour. I was interested in the history of Empress Elizabeth and have been watching the show on Netflix. We had been to Vienna before but did not go into the palace so it was nice to go inside and see the museum and their apartments. The whispers were very nice to have with the larger group (23 total).
Excellent tour guide and experience. It was so nice to have someone who knew so much about the palace and family. We learned so much more than we would have if we’d try to do this on our own. And it was great being able to skip the line!
