Private Tour Of Melk Hallstatt And Salzburg From Vienna - Sound Of Music

I messaged the tour operator the night before to confirm our pick up and they responded with the name of the driver and the time. When they did not arrive by 8:20 am I called the number provided and the number I found for them on the internet since the driver did not respond. We were then told they were cancelling the tour. Do NOT book with this company- Randon Travel or as they are listed on the internet Europe City Tours. Had we not been staying at the Ritz Carlton with an incredible concierge that rebooked our trip immediately, we would not have been able to go to Salzburg at all. Viator should remove them completely from the tours that are offered.

Hallstatt is the highlight of this trip. Our guide René was wonderful, very knowledgeable and took great care of us. My one negative is very minor, I would remove the Melk stop as it’s very close to Vienna it could be done separately, which would allow more time in Salzburg.

Excellent!! Overall we had a great experience. We decided to skip Melk to sorbs more time In Salzburg. Our driver came in a Mercedes van that was spotless and was on time. He was very friendly and helpful. Had a great time overall

A terrible waste of money. No guide on this tour. The driver Phillip had no clue on where to take us apart from only knowing he had to take us to Melk, Hallstatt and Salzburg. He kept on saying I am not a guide and just a driver. After paying close to 1000 US$ we expect to be told where to visit on these places and what to look for. A definite request for money back. Pathetic.

The presentation for this tour is misleading. Although the description of it does not say anywhere that this tour is with a professional and certified tour guide, it does lead to that assumption. For a first time tourist in Austria, who’s reading the description days or maybe weeks in advance of the tour date, the tour description does seem to implicate it will include a certified tour guide. To my surprise, I met a 22 young man, not an Austrian native, who was nice enough to tell me immediately that he is not a professional tour guide. Since I paid top dollar for this tour and although I was upset to realize I will not enjoy a professionally guided tour, I decide to go ahead with it. The driver was nice, accommodating and attentive, but he was not a professional tour guide. I should be partially reimbursed for this tour.

Hallstatt is beautiful. The church is in the most stunning location. The cemetery was the most peaceful and serene location ( I personally do not visit cemeteries ). When we got to the church yard I thought the graves were small garden plots. Over the small town atmosphere along with the local shops and eateries. Salzburg was a bit of a let down after visiting Hallstatt and our guide forgot to stop at the sound of music locations. I would stay in Hallstatt for a couple days and use it as base camp

Wonderful trip for those who have limited time but still be able to visit both scenic places. Our tour guide Dusan is amazing, a nice guy and well versed.

This is the best for those who want to see a lot but have limited time. We have seen a lot in one day. We took the tour on Saturday September 24, 2022. Our driver, Tim, made our day one of the best day of our vacation. Thank you, Tim. You are amazing.

The guide, Timo was outstanding. He tried to make us to have the best tour possible. He is knowledgeable, caring and very nice. We enjoyed our whole tour with his excellent service.

1. The driver arrived late and he didn’t reach us by phone or mail to let us know about it. 2. He didn’t know nothing about the places we visited 3. It was obvious he was not trained for this job 4. We decided to return ourselves by train

What a great experience. We visited some really cool locations. Pick up was flawless. The van was very comfortable. The hosts were very accommodating and professional. Would recommend this day trip in a heartbeat.

It was a beautiful scenic drive and our driver Domenic was very nice, but not very knowledgeable. I had to ask him questions to get info. He kept apologizing because the air conditioning partly failed on the way back, but not too big of a deal for us. It came down to being a $600+ car ride.

Great trip, excellent driver / guide. Peter was fabulous. Excellent car. The trip was around 700km, and took 9 hours, but was worth every penny.

Our visit to Hallstatt was fantastic. Philip was an excellent tour guide. We were able to explore Salzburg and see everything from the Sound of Music film. A wonderful sightseeing day

THIS IS A CAR COMPANY NOT A TOUR COMPANY. Wow. I don't even know where to begin. The coughing "tour guide" that had to be told over and over to put his mask on. He was from Slovakia. No idea where he was going. Relied on GPS and still made wrong turns. Car had no cup holders. Tinted windows so you can't see outside well. He was not happy we had our windows open. He smoked so the car reeked. We had to stop so he could have a smoke. Dropped us off in closed towns. Thankfully I insisted on 30 minutes not the 2 hours he was pushing. We had 1 pm lunch reservations. Arrived in Salzburg at 1:45. Missed our lunch the entire reason for the trip... I can't go on...Dropped us off in a closed park... gah it was just the absolute worst. We actually tried to get a cab back to Vienna but unable. We 1000% do NOT RECCOMED. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Wonderful trip, wonderful driver! We skipped Melk to spend more time in Hallstatt, and it was worth it!! The most beautiful place I have ever been, and Salzburg was amazing too. Our tour guide gave us great advice, tips on what to see and where to go.

Not worth the money. We were short on time and thought a guided personal tour would be a good way to make the most of it. We essentially got a driver who did nothing but drive us to each place, drop us off and say see you in x mts. No background info on the place, no interaction, definitely no guiding

Peter was an awesome safe driver and guide with cool little tips on what to eat / buy / see on the places. As for those who are a little confused on thie description of the package tour and why is it priced higher than the others. It is a Private Tour which means you have your own Private Car for 2-3 persons or a Private Van / AUV for 4 persons and up to drive you around drop you off and pick you up again. as for the tour the drive takes a total of 3 hrs going and 3 hrs coming back... so expect your time in each of the 3 places short and better prioritize what you want to see first ahead for my suggestion... I would like you to offer an option of 2 places per Tour like Salzburg + Hallstatt or Melk + Hallstatt so that we can have additional time to explore.

Norbert was an amazing guide. Very personable and knowledgeable. Went out of his way to ensure our day was customized to our likings. Highly recommend him! Fantastic day!
