This tour was great and filled with so much good information. Our guide Sebastian was really good. I wasn't that impressed with the SISI exhibition - that was just blah. I would rate the SISI exhibition a skip.

Lisa Marie was very well organized. She provided details about Empress Sisi & fun stories. Walked around the museum and shared how impressive Sisi was. She was very knowledgeable and enjoyed what she was doing. Awesome guide and a great tour. We would highly recommend her.
We had an outstanding private tour of the Hofburg Palace with Petra. Her expertise in the history of the Hofburg dynasty and Empress Sisi was impressive, and she shared it with clarity, enthusiasm, and genuine warmth. Petra took extra time to provide thoughtful insights and made sure we fully understood the significance of each part of the palace. Her kindness didn’t stop there—she personally guided us afterward to ensure we reached our next tour promptly. Petra exemplifies professionalism and care, and we highly recommend her.
Our guide was very energetic and showed much emotion about the topic. We enjoyed it very much and would recommend.
We met our guide in front of Schullin on Michaelerplatz. It was a fair size group but we were fitted up with headphones so were could always hear our guide. After the Sisi Museum and Imperial apartments we skipped the courtyards and gardens as weather was not too great. It was a super tour and I'd highly recommend it,
We had an excellent experience on the Hofburg Palace and Sisi Museum tour, and Mariola was absolutely outstanding. She was beyond knowledgeable—not just about the history of the palace and the Habsburgs, but also about Vienna itself and all the details that brought everything to life. She made the tour feel engaging and personal rather than just a standard walkthrough. Her explanations were clear, interesting, and full of stories that made the history memorable. She was patient, warm, and answered every question with so much depth and insight. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does. The skip-the-line access made everything smooth, and having a guide like Mariola made the experience so much more special. Highly recommend this tour, and if you can request Mariola, do it!
our guide was very nice , polite and very knowledgeable. he gave great explanations about the place and the history. Highly recommend this tour, it also provided background and references for other musical events and concerts.
Very knowledgeable about Austrian & world history! Her love & passion for the Hapsburgs is infectious! We were lucky to have her as our guide because she wrote a book about Sisi. Highly recommend this tour with Mojca!
Alex is an incredibly engaging and helpful tour guide who will keep you captivated the whole tour and give you many valuable tips and recommendations.
Amazing and knowledgable tour. Loved our guide and the palace is amazing. Would use them again on our next trip
Maria was excellent, set a pace appropriate for older folks, very knowledgeable, good English, nice person
Very interesting and informative tour Exhibits are really fascinating Guide Ewald was excellent and synthesized much information in an understandable and enjoyable format
Our guide really knew the history of Vienna and Austria, and of the Hofburg dynasty. She gave us more than our moneys worth, walking us thru sisi’s living quarters, the treasury, and the exterior of the Hofburg. Her English was perfect and she was able to provide detailed explanations whenever we asked any questions. We wish she could be our tour guide for each and every future tour.
Good. Ewald told us a lot of history. He is knowledgeable. We enjoyed the tour. I would recommend this tour to someone else.
This ended up being a private tour and Peter did a fabulous job of walking us through the tour locations and providing interesting and thorough historical background. These are definitely a must see and were even better with an expert tour guide.
No disrespect to the tour guide who was very good but the tour was a bit boring and not worth the money we paid. The guide's English was good. We felt that the Sisi Museum was overhyped and the outside areas/sights of the Hofburg and gardens could have been visited for free and we would have enjoyed them more. I would save your money and go for a tour by yourself. The Sisi museum isn't that interesting as much is currently being refurbished.
I always use Viator and this was a disappointment The tour was not interesting and the guide was very nice ande accommodating but hard to understand with his accent which made it difficult to be engaged. I wrote to the company and they took off 10% which is very little considering the cost of a private tour
My tour guide, Alex, was great. He was friendly , engaging, and knowledgeable about Sisi and Hofburg Palace. My only caveat is that these guided tours don't allow much time for sightseeing at your own pace. The rooms, depending on their size, can get crowded very fast as other tour groups or individuals on an audio tour are also passing through. Afterwards, Alex took us on a quick tour of the outside grounds and gardens and gave us helpful tips on how to get a seat at Cafe Demel. Incredibly useful!
Highly recommend this tour. The palace is so huge and overwhelming we could not have done this without a guide. Ute, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable and very good at highlighting the important pieces for us. We learned so much!
Our guide was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The palace museum while crowded is amazing to see.
We had a great tour with Marc! He was very knowledgeable and engaging. We learned so much and enjoyed the experience. Highly recommend this experience!
We booked a walking guide tour with Rossotravel. Our guide Alex was wonderful, in explaining the stories behind and some of the details. We felt our time was well spent on the tour. Only thing I would like to improve is the time for group to gather at beginning of the tour as tour time on the ticket was little different than the app notifications time (which was bit earlier). The text msg was ok but didn’t have the exact time we should meet. Overall, the tour itself was super smooth and guide was professional and informative.
Our guide, Michael, was very knowledgeable and his stories about the Hofburg Palace and Sisi Museum were captivating and brought the place to life. A private guide is the way to go!
I had booked this tour for my planned trip to Vienna for the Taylor Swift concert. Unfortunately, the concert was cancelled, so I wanted to cancelled this tour as I would no longer travel to Vienna . However I missed the 24-hour cancellation window by an hour.. I still asked for a refund, which was declined as per their policy. Well I had expected some leeway given the situation, and given the fact that many Viennese institutions offer refunds/free goodies for concert goers. Refund did not happen, but okay, that is the policy. 3 days later (!) I would get such a condescending and unfriendly email from the so-called “customer complaints specialist” Aleksandra, I was shocked! She made feel guilty about not showing up and letting the guide wait, incurring costs on their side and preventing other customers to book the tour!! How is any of the above on my side? I told them I would be unable to join, hence my request for a refund. They could have easily open up those spots! I am still shocked at this experience. Once back in Vienna at another point (and I travel there often) I will definitely not book with them and prevent anyone else not to do so too..
Exceptional. If you’re truly into the details of Habsburg/Viennese history (*and not just wanting a quick run-through of basic highlights), this is the guided tour for you. Well worth the higher cost and extended time. Our English tour guide, Ute (a certified Vienna tour professional), was fabulous - and funny - and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience with her as she guided us around the palace, the treasury, Sisi museum, imperial apartments, and all of Hofburg’s many noteworthy sights and anecdotal stories.
Excellent tour of Hofburg Palace today with guide Alex. Learned a lot and so glad we did it. Easy meeting place and audio sets were very helpful
Barbara is a great guide. We covered a lot, from the Hofburg palace, Sisi rooms and museum and specially Imperial Treasry. Learned a lot about the history of Austria and the Habsburg family. Also gave us great pointers on our walk of the old town all the way to the Cathedral.
Wolfgang our guide was very knowledgeable. We all enjoyed , thank you and would definitely recommend.
A very complex tour and full of a lot of well-documented information from the Ute guide. I recommend 100%.
First, I want to thank the local organizers to accommodate is so quickly. We booked the tickets and saw no option for language. When we received the tickets, the guided tour was in Spanish. We needed English!! We had no problem, getting an English speaking guide, even tho it said no changes can be made with less than 24 hr. notice. Thank you for providing us with a great experience. Secondly, I want to thank our wonderful guide , Angelika. She was our personal guide through the castle, the museum and the Treasury. Her explanations and recommendations for after the tour were fantastic
Seeing the Hofburg palace and the Silver Treasures was very cool and enlightening! Our tour guide was very informative and friendly!
Amazing tour and we learned a lot. So much better than an audio tour with great historical facts and funny stories.
Gennaro was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable. Loved the experience. We learned a lot. Kids favorite tour!
Our tour guide (Samie) was great. She tailored the tour to our interests and she was able to navigate the crowds to get us in front of the exhibits.
Seeing these places with a private guide just for my family was great. I believe you learn more and have a better experience with a guide.
Sayed was excellent. Incredibly knowledgeable, with so much information and great stories about the Hapsburg family. We loved his attention to detail, sense of humor, and seemingly endless expertise. Sayed even generously took us on an impromptu walking tour Innere Stadt after our tour of Hofburg! All around a great experience. Can’t recommend Sayed enough.
Loved this tour. Our guide, Ute, was incredibly knowledgeable and was able to bring history to life for us. It was also great to skip the long lines at the several palaces/buildings that we visited.
The Hofbug is a large complex in the centre of Vienna with several attractions. The complex itself is evidence of the collossal wealth and status of the Austrian emperors. The silver museum is very complete; so much in a fairly small space. The range of objects goes from relatively banal cake-molds and dinner services to quite superb porcelain and silver collections. It is clear when comparing collections of different periods (especially with those in the Kuntshistoriches) that the taste of the ruling dynasties declined during the 19th/20th centuries from superb to kitsch: some of the pieces in this museum are so kitsch as to be grotesque. One of the rooms however houses a frankly magnificant collection of Imari's once belonging to Duke Charles Alexander of Loraine. This alone is worth the price of admission if you are an Imari fan as we are. The museum section dedicated to the life of Sisi and her apartments are moving. Take the time to read the texts displayed on the walls to understand fully the tragic life and personality of this legendary character. Would not have wanted to miss this visit.
Great tour and our guide was amazing! Robert was just so nice and knowledgeable and it was well worth it to have a private tour. He took time to explain everything and answer all of our questions. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Vienna.
Robert did such a great job explaining what we were seeing during our excursion. His wonderful sense of humor made it so enjoyable.
I enjoyed learning about palace and looking at the silver collection which was very impressive. What I enjoyed the most was going into the Sisi Museum and walking through her apartments and learning about her life. The guide was very informative and interesting and I learned a lot from him. Over all I enjoyed the whole tour.
The reason I gave it 4 stars because I felt our tour guide needs to be more energetic. There were moments where I started yawning. A dense 3-hours tour is no easy thing with lots of information to digest and absorb. That is why a more energetic and exciting tour guide is needed for these type of things to keep us focused and engaged the whole time. On the other hand, I think the cost is a bit too much.
Unfortunately, the tour went so fast there was no time to look, savor and enjoy the beautiful artifacts. My tour was not the full length; we did not visit the Imperial jewels or other stops. The museum/palace was not busy and would have been easy to tour alone without a guide. My guide was, however, friendly, warm and knew history.
Nice to visite this historical place. The ticket is combined with the Sisi collections museum. You can see the imperial apartment of emperor Franz Joseph and His wife Elisabeth. The collection of silverwares and porcelains in the Silverkammer is very impressive. In Sisi museum you see Elisabeth’s clothing and personal items. The display and the lighting of theses museums are dated.
Palace was amazing and the guide was very knowledgeable and thorough! Really enjoyed the private tour!
We had a wonderful tour with our personal guide who was so pleasant & knowledgeable. We were able to see everything in a very relaxed manner & learnt a lot of Austrian history.
What a wonderful tour we took at sisi palace! Tour guide was soooo very knowledgeable and kept the tour very interesting!!! I think this tour is absolute must for Vienna!
Ute was a very good guide: smart, friendly, knowledgeable, and energetic. She was a pleasure, and we highly recommend her.
