Hallstatt Semi-private Day Trip From Vienna (Max 8)

We really enjoyed this day trip. Balazs was a great driver and guide. He was funny, helpful, and informative. His presence really elevated our tour experience. Everything went smoothly during our tour and I really recommend this tour company.

The trip to Hallstatt was amazing. I would definitely recommend it. It is the prettiest place I've ever been to.

Excellent trip Driver Roman was outstanding

We took a semi-private day trip from Vienna to Hallstatt, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about our guide, Roman! He was incredibly kind, thoughtful, and accommodating throughout the entire day. He shared so many interesting insights and helpful local tips about Austria and Hallstatt, making the experience that much more enjoyable. Roman was also a smooth, cautious driver and was more than happy to accommodate stops whenever needed. Along the way, he took us to several beautiful lakes that were just as breathtaking as Hallstatt itself. Once we arrived, we enjoyed a lovely guided tour that introduced us to the town’s history before having plenty of free time to explore, enjoy lunch, and take in the scenery at our own pace. The entire experience was well organized, relaxing, and memorable from beginning to end. I highly recommend Roman and his tour company to anyone considering a day trip to Hallstatt from Vienna. He truly went above and beyond to make the day special!

This was a wonderful experience! Markus was a great tour guide and host for our ride. He was knowledgeable and funny and ensured we had what we needed. He was also a good and safe driver. The scenery was beautiful. I highly recommend this tour if you are staying in Vienna and want to get to the country for a day.

This your was great from start to finish. Our guide Roman was simply the best guide you could ask for - he was incredibly helpful and went above and beyond from driving us, pointing out landmarks and explaining us about the lake towns we were visiting or any questions we had, imparting lots of travel tips! He always made sure we were comfortable throughout the trip, even offered to drop us off in city centre at the end of the day as we wanted to explore a bit more after the tour. We had a group of 5 so it was a really nice small group tour. The little towns we visited along the way were beautiful and Halstatt itself had so many things to look at and do! Halstatt was a little crowded but given it was start of off season it wasn’t overwhelming. I would suggest visiting during off season. The scenery was stunning and I highly recommend getting on self driven electric boats. Our guide in Halstatt was Christiana who is a local and she gave us a lot of information on local history and places to explore. Lots of restaurants and cafes to enjoy, but make sure you take some cash with you as not every store takes card. We had 3 hrs in Halstatt which was plenty and it didn’t seem rushed. Thank you Roman and Christiana for an amazing trip!

We had a fantastic day trip from Vienna to Hallstatt with White Alligator Tours for our 25th wedding anniversary. Markus was brilliant, full of funny stories and interesting information, with great stops along the way for photos and complimentary bottles of water. Dorothea was equally fantastic, showing us hidden little walkways away from the crowds and sharing great stories about Hallstatt. The communication between them was excellent, making the whole day easy and stress-free. We couldn't have picked a better way to celebrate our anniversary. Highly recommend White Alligator Tours!

Ramon was an excellent, skilled driver and very informative. The van was spotless. The sights were breathtaking.

Markus was a great guide. The van is super clean and modern and comfy. They also provide water which is nice. My only suggestion would be to spend less time at the stops prior to Hallstatt. There is not enough time to do the salt mines and it would have probably been nicer to just go straight to Hallstatt and have 5-6 hours of free time.

Wonderful experience! Picked up right on time at location. Many stops along the way to Hallstatt. Plenty of opportunities for bathroom breaks. Each location was wonderful! Had plenty of time to explore Hallstatt, even after the tour. Special thanks to Peter for sharing some great information and background on each stop and for making our tour wonderful! The drive to Hallstatt was comfortable. Our driver/guide Markus was knowledgeable and friendly. Hallstatt was truly beautiful!!!

Markus did an excellent job keeping us safe, educating us on the Austrian culture, navigating through the Austrian countryside. We had an amazing day living in the fairytale Lake District.

Our tour guide Balazs was amazing. The stops at various lake region villages was great. Halstatt visit was phenomenal. A truly pleasurable experience.

The company is very good . Minivans excellent. Drivers excellent . Wifi and water in van . Overall good trip but lady guide in Hallstatt was total disaster . She rushed everything as she had to join another group . Company should have guides to help tourist till the drop point like other companies were doing . This apart perfect five star to company.

This trip was absolutely worth the money. The driver/guide I had was Balazs and he was wonderful. Very knowledgeable and informative, and also flexible if needing to make a stop for a break along the way, as well as dropping people off at a different location in the city at the end of the day. Always making sure everyone was comfortable. The trip itself was one of the best I’ve done. Hallstatt is like something out of a movie and we were lucky to have great weather to take some amazing photos. The stops on the way to Hallstatt were also just as good - very picturesque Austrian villages. The day is a long one but absolutely worth it, and having the pick up and drop off eliminates any stress of having to find a meeting point. The company itself were also very communicative prior to the trip which I appreciated. Highly recommend this day trip!

I booked last minute and I'm glad I did! I was picked up on time by a friendly and very knowledgeable guide. The road trip and visiting the different little towns was great. Hallstat was amazing! The pictures don't do it justice, you have to see it in person. I definitely had a great experience. I highly recommend White Alligator Tours.

Great experience! Our guide Marco was so informative and used a headset which really made the difference in voice projection in the van. So knowledgeable about the history. Great sights to see along the way. Needed to travel to pick up location as not in vicinity of my stay. Communication for booking was excellent though. Breathtakingly beautiful sights.

The driver Markus was excellent we got plenty of time to explore with our stops. Also toilet stops were at nice intervals. Had a good amount of time in Halstatt. Loved the tour the van was comfortable. Highly recommend a long day but enjoyable. Take cash a lot of places do not take cards.

The trip was beautiful, the villages that we stopped at along the way were quite nice along with the rest stop that the driver took us to for a break. The driver did an excellent job contending with heavy rain and accidents during our travel along with selecting nice stops to see the countryside. The guide in Hallstatt was excellent and very helpful with great historical knowledge and details to make our stay very enjoyable.

I travelled with teenagers. It is a long day / drive, but everything went very smoothly (pick up from hotel, stops, car, tourguides, stops). Lovely views, since I wanted to see beautiful nature, this could not have been better. I did not understand before that Hallstad is so overcrowded with tourists, hopefully locals get some rest after summer.

Absolute must do when in Vienna. It’s a long drive, but it’s worth it. Marco was a great guide and driver. Schedule ran smooth, nice air con in van, made the day a joy. You’ll regret having not gone.

Balazs did an excellent job of taking us to all the perfect spots and giving us all the history and color around the tour. He was very organized and had a great personality. We would strongly recommend him and this tour.

The day trip from Vienna to Hallstatt was spectacular. Our driver and guide was Roman - he went above and beyond to point out sights and give us history and fun facts throughout the day. He answered all of our questions and was incredibly accommodating. Brigette in Hallstatt was lovely and adapted to what our group wanted to see. The sights were incredible and even got to go on a boat tour as an addition. I was a solo traveler along with several others and Roman made us all feel very comfortable. The van was comfortable and had everything we could need - water, plugs, AC, and WiFi. I would highly recommend booking this tour! Thank you to Roman and Brigette!

This was one of the highlights of our trip to Austria! Peter was an excellent guide—professional, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. We learned so much about Austria's history and modern-day life, and he made the journey interesting from start to finish. The Lake District is absolutely stunning, and Hallstatt is a beautiful, unique little village that's well worth visiting. We had a fantastic day and would highly recommend this tour!

Roman was a fantastic tour guide. He picked us up from our hotel and was very knowledgeable about Vienna and the surrounding areas. Hallstatt was beautiful, we did the little motor boats out on the water! So fun, would highly recommend. It was a great day.

Marco was lovely throughout. The stops along the way were fantastic and Hallstatt lived up to every expectation. Was the best way to end of my trip to Vienna. It is quite a long day, sat in minibus, but each destination was very much worth it.

A long day with 6 hours of freeway driving in the bus. Limited time in Hallstatt. Magnificent scenery. Very short tour in Hallstatt then free time to poke around. Driver/guide was excellent.

Nice to be picked up at the hotel, stopped at few small town before we came to amazing Hallstatt, a must see for everybody! It was a long day but worth it!

So worth the long drive although our driver did various stops along the way, we didn’t feel rushed. Peter was full of info and facts along the way. Coming home we came straight thru but he offered to stop serval times if anyone needed a break. Being a small group of 5 people it was an excellent trip, no waiting for those late comers at each stop. Hallstatt was absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend this tour!

We had an amazing day in Hallstatt and Brigitte, our local guide in Hallstatt was very good. Even though it was raining we were able to see everything and able to have a proper meal at one of the best restaurants in Hallstatt. We would recommend this tour to all our friends and family back home.
