The guide was knowledgeable but in my opinion didn’t share enough historical info for us to know much about the country. He said he like to give a lot of free time, which I understand some people prefer. The transportation on the other hand was awful. 9 of us squeezed into what was technically a 9 person van. That would have only been comfortable if some of the 9 were kids or very small adults. I would not recommend this tour, or take it again simply due to the very uncomfortable transportation.
We had a great day visiting Bratislava and Budapest with Martin! He was friendly, and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the beautiful sights and interesting stories along the way. Definitely recommend this tour with Martin!
excellent the tour guide was excellent the sites good the drive good we had a excellent day - you must go on the tour
This was a great tour. Our guide, Samuel, was very knowledgeable and kind. He knew the history of the cities and a lot of fun facts. He made sure we knew our options for free time and made recommendations for restaurants and things to do. I’d definitely recommend this tour!
Great experience, Samuel was an amazing tour guide! Would absolutely recommend to anyone staying in Vienna.
It is a long day into the night. Beautiful and scenic places to see. Good history background provided by our guide. Traffic was horrendous on the day we went, but definitely worth it. What an experience to see these places, especially Budepest.
what you should know is while the tour of the places themselves is very interesting the road construction between Vienna and Budapest and Bratislava adds a great deal of time to the trip. It's stop and go for a very long time. We had a 9 passenger van with 9 passengers and it was somewhat uncomfortable after awhile. Our driver was a very nice young man, but he didn't use any headset to communicate sites along the way and the only people who could hear what he was saying were in the front seat with him. I'm sure he's a safe and good driver but the surging back and forth on the gas peddle in the slow traffic made me nauseous. He decided to reverse the itinerary and that was a good decision as we saw the Bratislava castle and old town lit up after dark. It was a very long day and totally worth it, but I would suggest he get a headset and do more narration of what we were seeing along the way.
It was a wonderful experience. It was totally worthwhile. Highly recommend. Our guide was very informative and a very smooth driver.
Wonderful day with so much history and sight seeing . Very comfortable transport . Great value for money 15 hour day . Highly rate
The most memorable experience in my tour to Vienna, Austria. The tour was very well planned by Lucky (my tour guide) and ensured that we got ample time for exploring/wandering the streets of Budapest and Bratislava. I learned a lot about the history, thanks to Lucky! I would highly recommend this tour if you are looking for a short trip to explore 2 countries in 1 day.
A great opportunity to visit 2 additional cities and countries while staying in Vienna. Each city with its own personality and enchantment. Our driver/guide was very knowledgeable of history and was able to describe really well in Spanish. Not his first language.
Our day tour to Bratislava and Budapest was truly unforgettable, made even more special by our exceptional guide, Dmitry! Visiting two beautiful capital cities in one day, taking in the breathtaking scenery, and experiencing their rich history was incredible. Dmitry ensured we saw all the key sights while remaining attentive and flexible to everyone’s needs. Whether we wanted a little more time to explore an area or were ready to move on, he listened and adjusted accordingly. What truly sets Dmitry apart is his wealth of historical knowledge, combined with his personal life experiences, which brought even greater meaning and perspective to everything we saw. His passion for history and the countries he knows so well was evident throughout the day. It was also the thoughtful little things that made such a difference. From providing water and special treats to making sure we had convenient, clean restroom stops, Dmitry went above and beyond to keep everyone comfortable. He also shared helpful travel tips and things to be mindful of along the way. One of the absolute highlights was seeing the magnificent Hungarian Parliament Building in Budapest both during the daylight and beautifully illuminated at night. It was breathtaking and the perfect way to top off an already amazing experience! Another unexpected bonus was Dmitry’s photography skills! He took fantastic pictures and made a genuine effort to ensure everyone had beautiful photographs to capture their memories. He knew exactly where to stop for the best views and photo opportunities. A few helpful tips for future travelers: We brought euros for Slovakia and Hungarian forints for Budapest, although most places accepted credit cards. Be sure to try the delicious chimney cakes in Budapest! While this is a long day, it is absolutely worth it. You’ll experience so much, learn a great deal, and still have opportunities for independent exploration. And reminder to please tip your tour guide. He spent 13 hours making our day exceptional and stayed safe. It was well earned. Above all, what made this tour exceptional was Dmitry himself. He is humble, hardworking, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about sharing the history and beauty of these countries. He doesn’t simply take you sightseeing; he helps you appreciate and connect with the places you’re visiting. We would absolutely book another tour with Dmitry without hesitation, If you’re considering this experience, we highly recommend it, . It’s a long day filled with incredible sights, fascinating history, and memories you’ll treasure!
Sam was a great guide! He was knowledgeable, thoughtful and funny. He did a great job of keeping us on schedule. He shared a lot of information about each area, history, agriculture, culinarily. My own complaint would be that the van was a little small and over packed.
A great option for my transfer from Vienna to budapest. Picked up from the door of my apartment and dropped at my hotel in Budapest. And in between the company of agreeable travellers while being guided around places of interest in Bratislava and Budapest. Matus was a great guide, full of interesting titbits of info and tales of the local history. He looked after us very well and all of our group appreciated his concern and his knowledge.
I booked a full-day tour with DANNY R. as our guide and it exceeded all my expectations. Not only did he know the history of the spots that we are visiting but, he also adapted the pace to fit our group. His style of tour is more relaxed and allows you to explore the cities at your own pace and style. If you will ask him questions about the places we’ve visited, he will gladly answer it; other than that, he gives you ample time to explore the cities on your own which makes the trip more personal than being like a school field trip. Transportation was smooth and he was a careful driver. Also, communication was clear from the start, and his warm personality made the whole day fun. He tries his best to accommodate everybody regardless of their personalities and age group. He’s like an old friend touring you in his hometown but, he’s still professional with his work. Moreover, Budapest and Bratislava are both beautiful cities in their own respective rights. It’s a must to visit these places if you’re in Central Europe and be sure to look for Danny as your guide.
Danny was a great tour guide. He made the tour very enjoyable with his guidance and left enough time for us to roam the city on our own as well.
We were picked up at 7:50am by our driver who spoke NO English. We proceeded to pick up two other groups. We pulled into a rest stop and were greeted by Sebastian, who was driving another van with passengers. We were told that we would now be driving to Budapest first because of traffic later in the day. There was no prior warning for this. We had our 7 month old infant with us, and we were not prepared for this change of plan. We had no food, no bathroom breaks. We sat in that van for 4 hours with no further communication. When we got to Budapest, our driver could have dropped us off and parked, but instead we sat in the van for 20-30 minutes while he searched for parking. When we finally parked, we had to change our son’s diaper (naturally, we were driving for so long and he was extremely uncomfortable), and the driver stood over us and shouted “hurry, hurry!” It was awful. When we finally met up with the other group, they told us that they had waited 1.5hrs for us at the rest stop and 1hr in Budapest. I feel sorry for them that they wasted so many hours, but also for us, just sitting in the van. Naturally, we were then behind. Sebastian was as lovely as he could be given the circumstances, but he clearly rushed through his tour. I’m afraid we didn’t really see much of the city or learn much. Upon arriving in Bratislava, it was completely dark and everything was closed. It was so late. I wish they would’ve just brought us back to Vienna - there was no point in seeing Bratislava. By the time we were dropped off (first to be picked up - last to be dropped off … with an INFANT) it was 11:50pm. The description of the tour is 10/11 hrs, with a note that it may extend to 12 hrs if there is traffic. There was NO traffic (probably because it was so late on a Sunday), yet we were with your group for 16+ hrs!!! Thank god I brought more diapers and baby formula than I thought we would need. Furthermore, I have to make specific complaints about our driver. Again, he spoke no English. We had no way of communicating with him and we had no one to give us any tour information or history etc on the way, which I was told Sebastian did with the other van. He also was a terrible driver. He left the highway and drove slower back-roads on the way to Budapest for no reason - we were told by the other van there was no traffic. He also was speeding, driving erratically, looking at his phone, got lost multiple times, and ran red lights. On the way home to drop us off, he took a wrong turn, ended up in a tram-only lane (with an oncoming tram), and then drove up onto the pedestrian sidewalk in order to avoid the tram and get back onto the right road. Thank god again that it was late and there were no people walking around! I honestly have never felt so uncomfortable and scared driving with someone - we had our infant son in that van!! It was completely unacceptable. It is really a shame, because we were looking forward to this tour as a highlight of our trip, but in reality we felt unsafe and taken advantage of. We have tried to be in touch with both the tour company and, with no real response. No acknowledgement, apology, or any kind of compensation for our day wasted. Do not bother with this tour. Pick a city, travel by train, and get a local guide.
Great to way to see highlights of multiple cities in one day. It was so nice to not stress about driving, parking, etc. Our guide Marco worked hard to ensure the experience was excellent for all.
Budapest was very interesting and we had free time for lunch. This is a long day as we reached Bratislava at night. I wish more history / facts and explanation of where and what we were doing next.
Long day, but well worth it! Good way to get an overview of these two beautiful cities!
It was a long and very full day but an excellent experience and a great way to see so much in a short period of time. Our guide MartinB was very knowledgeable and made sure we saw the main sights and still had some free time to relax and enjoy ourselves.
Our guide Samuel was very knowledgeable and accommodating, being available in any way. He knew the areas and their histories well and cared deeply for them. The only problem was the pickup : every participant was picked up at their location and it took 1 1/2 hrs of driving around before we could leave Vienna.
Greatly satisfied! Michael H was very helpful and informative! He made sure we were comfortable and give us recommendations the best places to eat for our lunch and best places to visit on our free time! Best tour guide!!!
The friendly greeting when I was picked up carried through the day. It was a long day but made pleasant by our fantastic guide Sebastian. The trip was spectacular and we saw all the sites plus some extra in our free time. The information and history was interesting and the local knowledge in Bratislava made for a wonderful experience so definitely value for money. Thank you Seb. It was lovely to have met you.
I wait one hour for my operator in my location to start my tour, but anyone came and after that they didn’t even come to pick me up also they didn’t gave my refund back. I lost my time wait and this make my holiday or vacation very bad experience.
An incredibly long day. This tour is more like 15 hours door to door than the 12 hours suggested. It’s a great way to see both capitals in one day, but it makes for a long day. Our guide could have been better with communication as well with regards to logistics. The small group was good but those sitting at the back of the van could not hear it. Suggest really considering the length of the tour before booking. It’s not 12 hours as suggested. We also didn’t start in Bratislava as suggested. We started in Hungary. Picked up at 7.30am and dropped off at 10.30pm!
Great your excellent guide Michael Van should be bigger better Buda was prime spot Paparica new find
Great way to get a taste of BP/Brat but need a few days in BP and a full day in Brat to see everything! A bit of a long day but worth it. Lucky was an awesome guide!
This trip was a long one but worth the time and money! We were able to visit two other countries in one day! Our tour guide Sebastian was great and very helpful! We enjoyed this day tour a lot!
Disappointed that guide took us in reverse order, which prevented us from seeing Bratislava in daylight plus it was so late list shops were closed and castle was closed for a private event. Guide was difficult to hear and understand. Also wasn’t able to eat until 3pm and only given 50 minutes.
In this trip you get a lot in one day. We were very tired at the end of it but it was truly worth it. Our tour guide was informative and patient. His recommendations were helpful and the stories and tales were entertaining. Bratislava and Budapest are definitely worth seeing for the history.
This was a long day but well worth the trip. Guide Michael was amazing and tireless, driving us around for nearly 14 hours in total. (There was an accident blocking Traffic on our way home which added an extra 45 minutes or so .). Michael took us to some amazing places. There was another group from the same company who we met at our site visits and between that tour guide, Maria, and ours Michael, we had a great time. I would highly recommend either of these two if you book this trip.
This was a professional, knowledgeable and friendly tour. The tour operator was very informative about explaining all the sites
A definite must see. Budapest and Bratislava was amazing. Scenic and historic well worth the long drive. Our driver Richard was sweet, kind and gave great history of both regions. Only suggestion would be to perhaps play music or chat on the ride to the locations to make that part more enjoyable.
Outstanding day. Even when traffic pour us behind, Sebastian made sure we did not miss time at our destinations.
Samuel, our tour guide, was great. He was very knowledgeable and made the entire experience enjoyable. We loved his recommendations for local food and his recommendations on extra things we should see during our free time. We would definitely recommend this tour and Samuel to anyone without reservation.
What a way to explore two beautiful cities! This tour was an excellent way to get a taste of both Bratislava and Budapest with easy travel arrangements and a knowledgeable tour guide. Samuel was a great guide who was happy to answer any questions and made this trip run smoothly. Overall a fantastic experience!
Lucky was a great tour guide. He kept us on time so we got to see all the sites. He was super knowledgeable and we had a great time. We would highly recommend this tour.
Very good pressed with the tour. Our guide, Samuel, was very knowledgeable, polite and attentive. Would definitely recommend this trip!
While this was a long day, it was really beautiful and so good to see Budapest and Bratislava. I think it’s a must do. Our guide, Danny, was so nice, accommodating and adorable!! Knowledgeable and funny. The van was comfortable and we were with since very nice people. Danny brought us to beautiful places and had interesting tidbits of info. Lots of free time to spend as we wished. Thank you Danny!!
The guide contacted us with pickup arrangements at 10:30 PM the night before to say he would pickup at 7:50 AM. The only previous contact was a WHATS APP at 8:00 AM, saying someone would advise a time later in the day, but to be ready for a 7:20 - 8:00 AM pickup time. And to be 5 minutes early. When I let him know they woke me up, and these arrangements should have been made hours ago, the response was “Complain to the company, I’m just the guide”. The company didn’t wake me up, he did. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get back to sleep for hours and then had broken sleep after that. I was so tired the next day, I fell asleep in the Van twice. Additionally, the guide has a very soft voice with a significant accent. I was a lot of work to hear and understand him. I gave up. I was really looking forward to this day. Unfortunately it was a 14 hour day without much sleep the previous night. I won’t book with GOAT CE tours again.
Our guide Sebastian was awesome and made the trip fantastic. He put in an extremely long day withe group and made sure we saw everything. He was personable and knowledgeable throughout. We had a great time!
The van a was too crowded not really an enjoyable experience if you do not like sitting in cramped van touching thighs with seat mate for 3 plus hours each way do not book this tour stick with vienna and maybe take private car or bolt to Bratislava
It was a good trip to get an overview of Budapest and Bratisalva to see if you would like to visit and spend more time. Our driver/tour guide was great
It was an excellent trip, thanks to the Guide Sebastian. He was very punctual and particular about the pick up, safety and comfort of the guests and proved to be a very informed guide. He took us to all the important places and briefed us about the history and significance of those places. The best part was that ours was a group of women travellers and Sebastian ensured we were taken to places where we could avail restroom facilities for free. He also provided us with complimentary water bottles and chocolates. He also served as our photographer. Highly recommended for anyone willing to cover both Budapest and Bratislava in a single day
Our guide, Lucky, was entertaining, and we had a great time. However, we were unable to visit Bratislava Castle because it was closed by the afternoon.
It’s a long drive from Vienna but worth ot to see how beautiful it is and they do several stops on the way going
Our driver, Lucky, was friendly and very knowledgeable about both the history and sites of both Hungary and Slovakia. He was an outstanding driver and guide. I would highly recommend this tour!
This trip is wasted potential. It is simply a taxi service in a van to and from the noted locations. The tour did not follow the itinerary, actually followed it in reverse. The tour guide was ill prepared for extreme traffic due to highway / roadworks which left us arriving approximately 2 hours behind schedule in each location. The “tour” is more of a collection of random anecdotes and AI facts. There’s no history or tales of each location. Majority of what was presented was also lost in translation. We left not really understanding the connection between the two locations, other than the guides bias towards Bratislava (his hometown). The driver was also frustratingly distracted and on his mobile phone while driving many times which left the passengers uncomfortable and on edge. If you book with the simple expectation of transportation, you’ll be satisfied. If you expect to learn anything about the history or politics, or the “story” that is advertised, you’ll leave disappointed.
