The New Cafe is right on Main Street, facing the Racine Post office. We were there during the July 4 parade, where we had great food and a great vantage point. The staff was friendly, and the food was top-notch. I had their special burger, well done, and it exceeded my expectations. Iced tea was fresh-brewed and cold. Definitely recommend this place for breakfast or lunch if you're in town. It's got an old soda fountain feel, which I like, and the bathrooms were clean - another plus and a sign of management that cares.
We booked the Christmas Concert months in advance through GetYourGuide, probably paying a premium because you can actually get the tickets locally. But better safe than sorry and we had seats somewhere in the middle. The setting is glorious, especially with abundant Christmas decorations all around. The quartet was very professional and we were happy they did not just play the more popular tunes that the tourists expect to hear. Great experience, highly recommended !
It was a good show, but I should have really done more research. I went in thinking it was a Christmas/New year concert and the majority of music played was strauss
Lovely music in a great setting but would have liked to know in advance what pieces of music were being played.
A beautiful venue for an amazing strings quartet. Our entire group aged 13-74 enjoyed the performance!!
We were in Vienna for 3 days but I can definitely tell that you have to experience this concert even if you are in Vienna for few days like us. It was magical and I didn't understand how time fly away during the concert!
Beautiful place music was good. It was small and not so grandiose compared to the price is charged another words. You couldn’t feel the music, but the music was played and well played. For the price feeling the music physically and filling the entire church would have been grandiose for the amount charged Would you recommend the experience last night? The pews are very narrow for seating which was a premium up charge and uncomfortable to sit for an hour..
Gorgeous church and amazing music. The performance was magical. Perfect way to spend Christmas night.
What a fantastic evening. Lovely little quartet that playing amazing classical tunes for an hour. Great experience. Seats are not allocated so if you want good ones it is best to arrive a little early. The small church is an amazing venue
Wonderful experience. We loved it. Music was amazing. Art and talent in a place. Definitely recommended.
It was fantastic really atmospheric. The location added to the experience. I just wish people would not talk. They think they are being quiet but the mumbled voices can spoil the experience.
no Christmas music. The quartet seemed out of tune and we did not know any of the music. The seats were very uncomfortable
We booked this concert for Christmas Eve and it was one of the highlights of our trip. The church is beautiful at night and the musicians were superb. We booked seats in the front and were not disappointed. We had read that the church was cold, but we were able to sit comfortably with our coats off. I would suggest getting there about 45 mins early to collect your tickets from the person just inside the church doors. There are people showing you to your allocated area, but seats are first in first served. It is a thoroughly enjoyable way to spend an evening.
Perfect Christmas experience! The setting is unbelievably beautiful and the musicians were incredibly talented!
A very special experience. The venue provided a special acoustic to the passionate performance led by a very talented group. Would very much recommend.
Do not miss this opportunity!! You will not regret it. Amazing music in a historic intimate chapel!!
Beautiful music in a beautiful setting! We sat in the back so we could admire the church while listening to the Orchestra.
This was a classical music concert with a string quartet in the amazingly beautiful St Peter’s Church in Vienna, a short walk from St Stephen’s Cathedral. The concert was an hourlong, with no introductions or programme which felt odd and we were packed in like sardines some in pews and some on chairs. The music and setting was beautiful and much enjoyed but felt it was a little disorganised and with a few tweaks would be much better.
The setting was exceptional but the quartet chose to play mostly unusual pieces I felt this was the wrong balance for a concert attended by mostly tourists and not music experts
The musicians were top notch, very professional and extremely good. A string quartet played several different composers' music equally proficiently. Everyone was thrilled and clapped until they did an encore ! They made The encore fun by playing a comical version, yet serious music, of jingle bells. The only problem was that it was very cold in the church and there was a draft blowing across the front area where I sat that made us keep our coats on and shivering.
Nice . Church is beautiful. Music is good. Overall not really worth the price though . They did not start on time And it was very cold
I thought the quartet had a real sense of ensemble. I would particularly mention Martin Reining’s attack and Tristan Feichtner’s warm cello in the Borodin. And each member brought their individuality to the variations in the slow movement of Schubert’s Death and the Maiden - I would like to have heard the whole work.
We absolutely loved the one hour concert at St Peter’s Church. The inside of the church is amazing! The acoustics were great and the string quartet were truly talented! It is a must do in Vienna.
Beautiful church and the music was exactly what I was hoping for. This venue is on the smaller side, making it easy to navigate the crowds and get up close to the musicians. I highly recommend.
First thing is, St Peters Church is a surprise as on the outside, it's very ordinary but inside it is stunning! The string quartet are such accomplished musicians and performed the selection of music flawlessly! From the very first piece, it was clear we were in for a treat and they delivered. The only downside was the church pews were possibly the most uncomfortable seats I've ever sat on. Take a cushion if you plan on going!
This was an amazing concert by an extremely talented string quartet, including two violins, a viola, and a cello in the beautiful setting of Saint Peter‘s Catholic Church. It was a perfect way to end our trip to Vienna!
Nice overall experience in beautiful surroundings. However no hint of Xmas in either the surroundings or music. Disappointing.
Lovely evening; Beautiful church and fine classical music. Quartet plays for over an hour. A few things to note; although you have ticket on phone you must get a paper ticket before seated. Paper tickets available as you enter. No seat assignments. Come early for best seats; suggest 1/2 hr. There is no intermission, etc. just beautiful music. Church is COLD so dress appropriately.
The church is very beautiful and alot to look at as you listen to the classical music. Even If you know very little classical music, you will recognise some of the pieces. The location is especially nice at this time of year with lors of lights on the surrounding streets.
A wonderful concert in the most beautiful setting! St Peter’s is the perfect place to experience such a great concert.
The Christmas and New Year's concert at St. Peter's Church in Vienna was an extraordinary experience. The superb atmosphere was complemented by the incredible performance of the string quartet. The music of Mozart, Bach, Vivaldi, and other composers was deeply heartwarming.
The tour company cancelled with less than 24 hours notice then gave me an option for a private tour for another 150 euros. I declined. Please ensure any charges are refunded.
A very enjoyable evening at St. Peter’s Church. The one-hour string quartet concert was a great way to listen to some of the Vienna’s (the world’s) greatest composers’ music in the most ambient of surroundings. Worth getting there early to secure the best seating for your category. We arrived an hour early to pick up our voucher and then entered the church 45-minutes before the concert started. A very accomplished quartet who captivated the audience with their renditions.
If you’re wanting traditional Christmas songs as I was hoping, there wasn’t any. Still amazing talent and a great concert. I was expecting traditional Christmas songs but I’m still very glad we went.
Nice Christmas concert was a great way to end our stay. Gave a little touch of the culture in the area. Highly recommend.
Lovely setting and the concert was fantastic. Get there early to get seating of your choice (pew or chair).
We have just returned from a 4 day Christmas Market city break in Vienna. We booked, via ‘Get your guide’ and secured seats towards the front of the seated area for a ‘ Classic Ensemble’ performed in St Peter’s Church. 2 violinists, a Viola and a cellist performed for just over an hour to a packed audience. They played various classics by Mozart, Vivaldi, Schubert, Bach, Dvorak and Humperdinck. A brilliant experience in a fabulous church and well worth it.
A lovely evening of classical music performed by a string quartet of 3 violinists and a cellist set in the baroque splendour of St Peters Church in Vienna.
Spectacular location! The concert was beautiful; very talented musicians. I would go again tonight if I could. Plenty of people to show you to a seat. Doors opened at 8pm and I was glad to get there early.
Absolutely beautiful. The 3 violinists and a cellist were amazing...such talent. And the church itself was breathtaking.
It was a pleasure to watch this foursome manage these incredible pieces of music in a stunning church of Saint Peter’s (it’s very near to Rosewood hotel in the inner city). Three violinists and a double base player started with Vivaldi and moved on to the programme pieces which of course included Mozart. Their proficiency is outstanding, not a note out of place, acoustics great, historic decor made for a special atmosphere and we loved it.
The concert was lovely, the church was beautiful, the mouse running under my chair during the concert not so lovely.
This tour gives you a look at the history of Vienna. Our guide was very knowledgeable and provided some interesting facts.
Fantastic program in a beautiful setting worth great acoustics. seating is by section and first come first serve within your section,
It was advertised as a Christmas concert. However, there was no traditional Christmas hymns or carols. Beautiful venue.
Absolutely stunning setting in St. Peter's Cathedral! A cultural must while visiting Vienna! We enjoyed every minute!
Wonderful concert in a beautiful setting. Loved the classical pieces selected. Concert lasts about an hour.
We went in winter so wrap up well, church interior is fabulous and those playing were very skilled indeed.
Christmas and New Year Concert at St. Peter’s Church in Vienna Attending the Christmas and New Year concert at St. Peter’s Church in Vienna was an unforgettable experience. The church itself was breathtaking, with beautiful Baroque architecture and warm candlelight that created a magical atmosphere. The music was performed by a talented chamber orchestra and featured classical pieces by Mozart, Vivaldi, and Strauss. The acoustics inside the church were incredible — every note sounded pure and powerful. What made the evening even more special was the festive spirit. People from all over the world were there, united by music and celebration. It was a peaceful and joyful way to welcome the New Year and reflect on the meaning of Christmas. I would definitely go again!
