Budapest Private Day Trip From Vienna

We had a wonderful day trip from Vienna to Budapest. Ivan was an excellent driver—friendly, knowledgeable, and great to talk with throughout the journey. The drive was smooth, and when we encountered traffic due to road construction, he quickly found an alternate route that helped us save valuable sightseeing time. The private Mercedes van was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. We had time to explore Budapest, including a fantastic tour with a local guide that had been arranged for us. Budapest is a beautiful city with so much to see. It was interesting hearing his loval perspective. We decided not to go into the Parliament building or Cathedral so we had time to enjoy lunch at a nearby restaurant before making the relaxing drive back to Vienna. This was a well-organized and enjoyable experience, and we highly recommend it.

Our driver, Romano, was great! He picked us up at the entrance to our hotel in a nice, black van, and we had a lovely, safe drive to Budapest while learning about the city along the way. Our tour guide, Orshe, was waiting for us when we arrived in the “pest” side, where we started our walking tour, and then we moved over to the “Buda” side. She was an excellent guide who shared the history, many architectural details (which we never would have noticed in our own), and stories about the monuments and statutes (that we most certainly would have missed if on our own). Orshe is a delightful person, who is funny but also respectful and kind. This tour was well worth the cost for a safe, comfortable, private drive, an informative and fun tour, and free time to explore some areas on our own.

Romano was a fantastic tour guide very well informed made our day trip to Budapest. Very pleasant. Gave us a lot of facts. We really enjoyed it with highly recommend him as a tour guy for any tour you take while visiting Vienna thank you, Romano.

It's a wonderful full day trip. Our driver stopped so we could get food for the road. Our city guide was very knowledgeable. Note that while Hunary is part of the European Union it's currency is not the Euro.

Our group had a wonderful time on this private trip to Budapest with Romano as the driver and Erica, our local tour guide. Both Romano and Erica were knowledgeable, courteous, and friendly. We were picked up at our hotel in a luxury car (new Mercedes) and dropped off at our hotel at the end of the tour. We highly recommend Romano and Erica for anyone who wants to take a day trip to Budapest from Vienna! I would give them 10 stars if the system allows

Trip was a great overview of Budapest in a day. We hit highlights with a little bit of time to eat and explore on own. Our tour friend, Darko, shared experiences/stories, customs, cultural highlights, and restaurant suggestions about Vienna/Budapest as we chatted with him over the 2.5 hrs back and forth to Budapest. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Darko patiently answered our many questions especially from my Mom. He was a highlight and should be recognized as a real asset. He was so knowledgeable on so many topics and willing to share with us. We really enjoyed our time with him. Judit (Budapest tour guide) was great too. She was very knowledgeable and patient with us as it was a hot day and kids were a bit impatient. She gave the rt amount of detail for our crowd and we saw a variety of places in the 2 hr tour. It was nice introduction for a future trip. Highly recommend this trip!

The tour was amazing. Pedja took care of everything and was excellent. . Our guide in the city was very good and informative.

Our driver Pedja picked us up from our hotel in Vienna at 7:30am - he was terrific. On the drive to Budapest he told us about Vienna and other places in Austria. Then when we arrived in Budapest we were met by a guide and had a very nice walking tour of Pest. The only reason I give this 4/5 stars is that I would have liked more free time in Budapest. I feel that 2 hours we had were definitely not enough to discover this beautiful city - we would have liked a chance to explore both Pest and Buda sides more. We spent about 6 hours in total in the car - back to Vienna by 6:30pm.

We had an amazing experience and an amazing tour guide. We made friends with him and he was so educated about the area. Would do this again! Budapest is a beautiful place!

Our driver Romano picked us up promptly from our location. We had a pleasant and comfortable drive to Budapest. We were dropped off right with our private walking tour guide. The tour was wonderful and we learned a lot. Romano was easy to contact through iMessages and responsive to where we were and what we needed. After the tour we were driven to two more sites on the other side of the river. They had great views of the city. So glad I booked this tour and would recommend it.

Our family just got back from our trip and we really enjoyed this tour. Our tour driver Darko was one of the highlights. Really informative and entertaining. He provided loads of information on life in Vienna and the region. Our tour guide in Budapest was also really great. She provided a great history lesson of the significance of the statues and buildings in the main part of Pest.

Darko was our driver for this tour. He was punctual and accommodating. Darko was very knowledgeable about a lot of cities and gave me some useful tips & suggestions. During the tour at Budapest, we wanted to enjoy the coffee & lunch at the famous New York Cafe. Darko arranged with the tour guide to take us there and pick us up from such a busy district. We enjoyed the ride and my kids had a great time during the whole tour.

Pedja, our driver, was punctual, friendly, and professional. His car was clean and comfortable for the ride to Budapest and back. During the drive, he shared great insights about Vienna and Budapest, making the drive entertaining, engaging, and informative. The tour was well organized and exceeded our expectations.

We had a wonderful time on this trip. Our driver Pedja was on time. He had contacted me yesterday to tell me that we should carry our passports in case of any checking. Pedja was very informative about life in Vienna and also in his native place in Serbia. His car is very comfortable and Pedja also took care of our comforts in Budapest. He is a very pleasant person to talk to. Once in Budapest, we met our guide Orsi. She is so high on energy and was always smiling. Orsi answered all our questions patiently. She told us the history of Budapest in those 2 hours and also showed us the beautiful architecture of the city. The water fountain that you can sit and start was also nice. And finally Orsi told us about the best places to eat Langos and Chimney Cake. Overall an excellent trip for us. Will recommend to all tourists in Vienna who want to have a great private experience.

Our driver Darko was great. Gave us insight as we passed areas of interest and he was very friendly and flexible with our group. Our guide in Budapest was great. Very passionate about her city and gave us great insight to the city and its history. Gave us recommendations where to eat etc.

This tour is a very convenient way to visit hungary from vienna and have a little taste of the budapest city. The highlight of the city is the parliament and it is at the start of the tour make sure to spent some time viewing this architecture marvel otherwise you will have to walk back to see on your own time. Please try the langos shop it is amazing. Finally but not least our driver Pedja was amazing. He drove us back and forth safely and he was very polite and give us very good insides about the city and the Austrian culture.

Went with my parents and friends from Vienna to Budapest on a day trip. Our driver Darko was amazing and very friendly. Local guide in Budapest was knowledgeable and definitely learned a lot about the city. Even though it was a rainy day, the views were still beautiful. Would definitely recommend!

What an amazing day. We were picked up by Darko who is awesome! It's a 3 hr ride to Budapest and back so you get to know your driver well. We talked and laughed about th NFL, singing donkeys at the Christmas Market, and Vegas. He was so patient and charming. Be sure to ask for Darko when you book. Don't hesitate it's worth every penny!

I cannot say enough good things about our driver Ivan. He was very informative and made the long drive very enjoyable. Our tour guide in the city was very knowledgeable and did his best to show us all the sites he could in a short amount of time.

The trip was amazing, Romano took us from Vienna to Budapest in a spacious Mercedes SUV, the ride was pleasant and filled with friendly conversation over EU politics, history of various neighboring country in Central Europe. In Budapest we met with the fabulous local guide Ester who walked us through the parliament area and center of Pest, we loved the cheerfulness, lovely sense of humor, depth and breath of historic contents. After Pest, Romano took us to Buda for a walk on the breathtaking St Stephen’s church and fishermen tower (as well as the Citadel), we also had a bit of time to wonder inside the art gallery.

Romano was awesome. He was friendly and provided informative, engaging conversation during the long drive. He altered the pickup point to accommodate our request to visit and spend more time at the market. Orsi, our guide in Budapest, was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic with local insight. It felt like we were on a tour with a friend who was telling us about their city and showing us around. If we were here longer, we would do it again.

The trip was fantastic. Our guide Romano always make sure we were comfortable. Happy and meet every moment a great one. She even switch a bit itinerary so we could visit the Fisherman bus which was not on the tour and end up being my favorite part. The local guide in, Budapest Andrash Spoke Spanish, which was a plus and was extremely knowledgeable and fun and an amazing tour. We had also a great lunch and dessert. This was a memorable trip in every way. Five stars in every way..

Budapest is great to visit in one day 2:15h drive from Vienna in a Mercedes went quick. Our guide Adam was friendly and helpful, few recommendations for some food spots. For end our driver took us to a foto spot to get a perfect photo and get everything that we wisit in one pictur ( Citadel ) Thank you Romano for a great day

This is one of the best tours we have ever done. A driver picked us up at the hotel in Vienna and took us to Budapest. The diver was early and came into the hotel we were staying at to meet us in the lobby. In Budapest, we met a local that took us on a walking tour of the Pest side of the river. She gave a rundown of the history of the area. The Parliament building was a must see. After the tour, we were given time to explore the Christmas market and eat. The driver was very flexible with the meeting time. He took us over to the Buda side of the river to see the former palace and drive along the river. The drive time is about 2.5 hours each way (maybe a little longer with traffic). There was great communication with the driver after we met him the day of, but there was little communication leading up to the day of the tour. An improvement would be to get a day before confirmation that they will be picking us up at the set location.

My Driver, Ivan was awesome. Very nice and kind. Picked me up at 8AM sharp. We got a bit of traffic on our way to Budapest, but he made time fly by with conversation. We got to Budapest and I met my tour guide, who did not reveal her name. She was kind too, but very ironic on the way she spoke (specially about politics). I expected the walking tour to last more, 2 hours is not nearly enough time

Even though this tour was just for the day, Budapest is a wonderful place to visit. This was our first time in Budapest. The architecture, panoramic views of the city and the Danube River are breathtaking. Our driver and local tour guide were great. We were able to see most of the important landmarks of the city. We really enjoyed and recommend this tour.

What a perfect day! Romano and Ivan (in training) were our drivers/guides and they were so friendly and knowledgeable! Romano knew so much and was so fun to talk with. His English was great. We had a great time with the drive and when we reached Budapest our guide Veronica was exceptional! She was kind and so knowledgeable and took us to Chez Dodo for the best macarons! After a two hour guided tour she recommended some great restaurants and shopping areas for us to spend the next two hours free before we met up with the guys again to explore the Buda side. The whole day exceeded expectations and we can’t wait to come back and experience more.

Our driver Romano was very friendly and the trip was pleasant. We took a tour of the main points of the city of Pest and the view of Buda is beautiful.
