I felt that this trip could be a better value than it was. There are many Flix Buses going back and forth from Vienna to Budapest, so you easily choose the times you would like. The guide was knowledgeable, but seemed scripted. I was very disappointed in the restaurant chosen for lunch, which was more bistro than homey. The server was not very pleasant, and it seemed as if they were expecting us to build around the lunch that was provided. We waited a very long time to be served the dumpling after the soup. It was already after 2. . The group was for lunch was just me and another woman, for the tour it was only 4. We were there in Bratislava for six hours. Bratislava, in that area was much nicer than was in my mind, from the days of communism.

The city is so beautiful! We had an amazing time exploring and luckily there were artesinal markets going on at the same time. The directions were very straight forward and super appreciated
Very unaccomodating when I was late and missed the bus because they had not sent me the QR code, or made it very hard to find blaming me that it was sent. Ending up missing the whole tour and all they did was just blame me offering no help or solutions. Very poor customer service.
This tour was a great value for an introduction to Bratislava. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and helped us to get our bearings, the bus was clean and air conditioned, and lunch was delicious!
It was a nice and interesting day excursion to Bratislava from Vienna. Bratislava is definitely another hidden gem in Central Europe. Our tour guide, Daria, was well-informed and provided funny straightforward and intriguing explanations pertaining to various historical and cultural sites. The halušky were spectacular, soft, cheesy and flavorful from the slightly smoked bacon. I would highly recommend this brief day tour in the capital of Slovakia.
The tour is too short, an hour only. One has to take the bus going and coming back near the Vienna main train station; tickets included.
Wonderful trip. We met the guide in Bratislava, which seemed strange but was easy to navigate. Erica was a lovely guide. The city was wonderful, lovely to walk around. Lunch was good. Lovely day.
A very interesting tour around this charming city. Guide could have been a little more fluent in English.
Make sure you leave the bus at the stop under the bridge. The Park Inn hotel was visible but there is another further stop that the bus makes. The meeting place location was perfect for toilets. Our guide Elka was lovely, very solicitors and knowledgeable. Only 8 people on our tour so able to hear Elka perfectly.
See this is good experience but be keep in mind that till you receive actual tickets , its not automatically your journey is booked. In my case though I paid to & fro Bratislava bus fare but since I didn’t receive bst code , I had to pay for return bus ride, although it was included in the package.
This tour requires you to make your way to Bratislava, but detailed instructions and bus tickets are provided. We met our guide, Suzanne, and made our way through the old town. The hour long tour gave us the tools to decide what we wanted to do ourselves after the included lunch. The restaurant where Suzanne to us to, was a couple of minutes from the old town and we enjoyed our 2 course meal. We chose to add wine and dessert. Plenty of time to explore
Very informative learnt a lot about the history of the town and country , wasn’t sure what to expect and really loved it
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Our tour from Vienna to Bratislava was nothing short of amazing. From the start, the tour operator was extremely professional—tickets and clear instructions were sent timeously, and everything was very easy to follow. The meeting point was clearly described and effortless to find. Our tour guide, Daria, was exceptional—very knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about Slovakian history. We truly enjoyed learning about Slovakia and Bratislava as a whole. The lunch provided was also awesome and a lovely addition to the experience. A special mention to Katarina, who responded to all our queries with impressive speed and efficiency. This is hands down the best tour we have ever booked on Viator. Highly recommended—we thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this trip!
Not worth the money at all!! If you’re in Vienna you’re better off booking the bus for €10 and exploring the tiny town yourself! The guide was okay but there was no food for me as a vegetarian. The restaurant they take you to is a tourist scam. I ended up leaving and buying my food elsewhere and there’s much better options to explore in the town
Great tour which was very informative and interesting. Coach journey and lunch also included which was good value for money and well organised
If you want to know the history of Bratislava in details first hand, this tour would be a good choice. Erica was quite knowledgeable about its history being a local.
Make sure they read the instructions, especially where to get off the bus because the driver isn’t knowledgeable about the tour.
Everything worked- links, journey and superb guide. Only aspect I would say is lunch was rather a disappointment. The soup was a broth. Almost water either couple of bits of carrot plus then some pasta which is country speciality. But we could tell we were not important customers. No-one was rude. Just offhand.
It was such a lovely day trip! So well worth it. The communication was great. The tour guide was very very knowledgeable! The amount given to us to explore I think was very sufficient. Bratislava is such a cute town. Well worth the visit!
It was worth the day trip to visit Slovakia’s capital. It’s small enough to see the highlights in the day trip. The communication was good however the guided tour could have been an hour longer to benefit from their wisdom of the city.
Convenient and easy to find starting place and the guide. The guide showed us all major attractions in the old town at a relaxed pace. Well informed professional guide. We visited in Feb so there weren’t too many tourists but the weather was very cold (0 deg). Good tour for history, architecture and culture enthusiasts. Beautiful quaint town. Loved it.
It was a fun day out in Bratislava. Only an hour by bus from Vienna, it’s a charming city with a very relaxed vibe. It’s definitely worth checking out if you want a break from the hustle and bustle of Vienna. My only suggestion would be that the tour be shortened by an hour in the winter months, due it being quite cold and dark when its time to leave at 6.30pm.
This easy trip was the perfect introduction to Bratislava. The bus station was near the u-Bahn. The bus trip was on time and comfortable. The guide was excellent and tour just right to understand some history and where all the important sites were. We really enjoyed the trip and had a great day in Bratislava.
Excellent tour of old town with a knowledgeable guide. Having a few hours to explore the town alone actually was very enjoyable also.
The tickets and instructions of where to meet the bus and tour guide were good with pictures included. Bus trip was nice and we met our guide in front of the hotel. She was excellent and provided good local information as well as recommendations for our free time. However, the lunch was terrible. There was no choice. The lunch was cold and fairly flavourless. The restaurant was just outside the old town but would have preferred a restaurant in the old town.
We were impressed by the sites in the city. Our tour guide gave a brief history of the city explaining the political and religious differences throughout time. It was very hot that day and she tried to find shady areas to stand in which was greatly appreciated. The reason for 4 stars was the lunch. The food wasn’t authentic. We were hoping for authentic Slovak food.
Our visite with our tour guide who was excellent. Gave explained details about all the places visited with their historic.
Was supposed to go on viator tour of Bratislava. Unfortunately the flixbus from vienna was not reported correctly and a number of folks including me missed that bus. Even though the tour operator was well aware of the problem with flixbus they would not issue a refund nor did they offer another date. Neither viator nor the tour operator offered to make us whole even though the problem was with a provider. I travel alot and for this reason I will never use or recommend viator again.
Flixbus provided incorrect information and we missed the tour. I'd like a reimbursement from viator for this. Your agent also provided the same incorrect information.
When my friend asked our guide a question, she was more interested in getting everything done by the clock, so she told her to Google it. When asked how we return to the original meeting place to find the bus back to Vienna, she said it was not her responsibility, her only responsibility was the tour. She said Google it. Bratislava bustles with little shops and lots of history. We did not learn any until we googled it. I took a stab at it and guessed the big beautiful building I found on my walk around town was the opera house. I googled it and I was right! No lunch prepared for vegetarians. Googled it! Find a guide who cares about Bratislava and other people. Google it!
We enjoyed visiting Bratislava for a day from Vienna. The bus ride is smooth and we found our tour soon after our arrival. Lunch was fantastic!
I found Bratislava a charming town. The tour guiding was minimal: we were unaccompanied on the journey out and back and the tour guide only gave us an hour of her time before dumping us at a restaurant for a pre-booked meal. My meal itself was unsatisfactory. I am vegetarian with digestive issues, and the food available did not really suit me. The time keeping of the buses out and back was fine.
It is a nice city and tour guide explained all the details in the old town. The lunch option provided is also nice and lunch menu was awesome.
This really was an excellent day out. Got to the main bus station on U3 direct from our hotel. It was right next door and a smallish station so really easy to find bus. My instructions told me to get off at 2nd bus stop SNP Most, and meeting point was 2 minutes away. There were only 5 of us in the group so easy to hear and ask questions. The tour did take 2 hours rather than 1 which was our gain. Lunch was soup and then chicken and chips, the others had coffee and cake option. All lovely. Plenty of free time so walked to castle and blue church. Then had coffee and cake in oldest coffee shop. The honey cake was one of nicest cakes ever had. Our guide was Yuri (spelt wrong) and was excellent.
I thought visiting Bratislava, Slovakia was an amazing place to visit. I thought guided tour was fantastic the man who did the guide tour was very knowledgeable about the history of the city, which is something I've learnt about. It was worth having a 2 course lunch which was free.
We don’t get lunch The driver hardly speaks English Otherwise the drive is comfortable My son and I had a great time on Bratislava and it’s a beautiful place.
We took a day trip via the public bus OBB for 4€90 ticket return. This ticket can be used in Bratislava as well. It’s a 1 hour drive. Drops u off at central station(last station) .YOu can either walk or catch a bus to the city center. We walked used google maps. safe to walk. We only realised later that we could have used the same ticket multiple times. We had organised a tour guide but he didn’t pitch. (City and castle tour, introduction to Bratislava). It was nice enjoyable day. We actually met a guide in the city center who volunteered to give us a tour for 2 hrs and charged us 30€ for 2. We ended paying her more for her kindness and knowledge. We did most of the sites except the ones that were far from the city center. Lovely country. You don’t need to pay lots of money for an organised tour with lunch. You can find your way. I’m not from Europe and we managed without getting lost. Just plan your activities in advance. GPSmycity and Citymapper are helpful. We had lunch at one of the restaurants. Beautiful small city with character.
Great tour for the price. The guide was good and gave us a good idea of what to do with the remainder of our stay. Transfer via bus was comfortable and pretty easy.
Our guide Milan was so sweet and informative! The city was beautiful and I was happy to go back to the place my ancestors came from
the most unfortunate experience. the road to Bratislava was fine, on time. the meeting with the guide on time, a short tour, but ok. the worst moment was at lunch, we had paid for 2 courses, but at the restaurant we were served only the starter. there was a long wait (1 hour) for the next dish, but in the end the waiter informed us that there was nothing else for us and that it was the guide's mistake for not announcing that we had 2 dishes. the most embarrassing moment followed when we were asked if we wanted them to look for some leftovers in the kitchen.🙄
The tour company was amazing at communicating, they emailed me a full itinerary and it help my trip over to Slovakia go smoothly! The tour guide was sweet and very nice.
Sebastian our English guide fetch us infront of the meeting point at exactly 12pm he showed us around the city of Bratislava explaining its history and why that spot was called after the tour he took us to the restaurant for our hearty lunch and from there it’s the end of our tour I highly recommend Mr Sebastian because of his sense of humor when entertaining us tourist .
We enjoyed Zuzana so much! She was very knowledgeable and so much fun. We love the tour and only wish that it could have been longer! Bratislava is adorable snd Zuzana was fabulous!
It was a great trip even though it was cold and rainy the 23 Nov 2022. It was easy to go from Vienna city center to Erdberg international bus station, we used line U3. When we arrived in Bratislava we went for a quick coffee near the bus station and then we headed towards the city center of Bratislava. We bought our souvenirs and then it was time to meet our tour guide. We went to a location very close to the bus station and there we met our tour guide Stefan. He explained a lot of things regarding Slovak history and as we were walking throughout the city he made his suggestions regarding where we can eat a sweet and what other locations we should visit like the palace, San Martin's cathedral and the blue church. At the end of our tour he walked us to the restaurant where we had our lunch. The restaurant was exactly next to the presidential palace which was another sightseeing location. It was definitely worth it. We paid 59 Euros through booking.com per person and we enjoyed going and returning with a bus as well as lunch and the tour guide in Bratislava city.
Had a great time visiting Bratislava and Sebastian, our guide there, was very helpful. It was good to get out of Vienna and enjoy a slower pace in such a beautiful city. Lunch was very nice and overall it was a great day. The only bit of advice I would like to offer is better signposting at the bus stations.
Nothing against the tour operator or our guide, because you get exactly what's offered. But the trickiest part of the tour is finding the bus station in Vienna on your own, which takes you to Bratislava. If you can do that, you might as well handle the rest of the trip yourself. Our guide was friendly, but he gave a 50 minute tour- and then you're left back on your own for several more hours (most on the tour were ready to return 2 hours before the scheduled departure time.) Food at the designated restaurant was okay, not great. I will give this tour group credit because others charge even MORE for offering the same. But overall, you can book the Flixbus yourself off the app, decide how much time you want to spend there, and save yourself lots of Euros. Bratislava is well- worth exploring. But you reqlly don't need a guide -or more than 4 hours- to do it.
My wife and I hired a car with an English speaking driver from Vienna to Budapest, Hungary with stop-over in Bratislava. We were charged Euro 200/- one way trip. We found it was cheap because the driver picked us from Vienna hotel and dropped us at Budapest hotel. On top of that, he took us for a walking tour to see the old palace, government buildings and the narrow streets of downtown Bratislava and fantastic Blue Church. Bratislava is a small city and the whole tour took us only one hour. But it is a nice city with nice friendly people.
WARNING! PLEASE READ BEFORE CONSIDERING! This company is not capable of providing a professional and consistent experience for it’s customers. I booked this tour experience in hopes of having a more simple way to travel to Bratislava and learn more about the area. Instead, I received several different bus tickets with multiple time changes. Before leaving Bratislava, I realized that my returning bus ticket was incorrectly booked for days later. It is obvious that this company is not organized or compassionate for it’s customers wellbeing. It is impossible to plan a trip with this extremely inconsistent business. Members in my party were given faulty tickets that did not work at the bus station. We were forced to pay for another ticket with cash. When contacting the company about this issue, we were met with demeaning and unhelpful support. This tour company only cares about taking your money. Your travel experience in Bratislava does not matter to them. They will never reimburse or provide assistance for your troubles. I strongly recommend anyone considering this tour to book transportation independently. The tour was informative, but not at all worth any amount of money. The included lunch was not appetizing, and was located far from the main attractions in the area. Choosing your own place to eat would be cheaper and far more enjoyable. The guide will walk with you through the Old Town area and abandon you at a restaurant with slow service and no air conditioning. I could not be more disappointed with the communication and support that this tour company has provided. If you experience any difficulty or trouble during your trip, you will be insulted and left to pay for it on your own. This tour experience was created to prey on tourists. Booking this “Bratislava From Vienna By Bus With Lunch” experience nearly ruined our time in the area. Instead of enjoying the day in Bratislava, we were busy trying to arrange transportation and receive support for faulty tickets/abrupt time changes. PLEASE DO NOT BOOK THIS EXPERIENCE!!
The guide was nice and lunch was okay but we could have done it ourselves for cheaper. It was not worth a whole day there, I felt like an hour or two would have been enough. Also, my bus ticket got changed last minute. When I got to the station, I was told it wasn’t valid and needed to wait for the next bus. When the next bus came, I needed to buy a new ticket. It was very frustrating and confusing. I bought this tour so I wouldn’t have to stress about transportation. I’m hoping to get reimbursement for the ticket, but I’m still waiting for a response.
I had such a great day in Bratislava! The bus was very comfortable and easy to find. I was the only person on the walking tour which was very pleasant. The only downside was the lunch. It was at a restaurant that was further out from the main part of town and I only had two options for lunch. I would have rather picked my own restaurant for lunch.
