Full extended American family (kids ranging 3- teens) doing 10 days in Austria and Hotel Altstadt was one of the highlights for all of us! Staff were gracious/helpful/accommodating. Very funky/tasteful hotel in great location. Breakfast was extraordinary, didn't want it to end :). 100% would recommend to anyone - couples, family, etc.
I have stayed all over the world and this has definitely been the best service at any hotel I can think of including $1500/night type places we did during our honeymoon. They offered sparkling wine when we checked in We arrived at breakfast 30 mins after it had ended and ordered two lattes. When we asked to pay they said don't worry about it. We ordered delivery one night. When I went to pick it up from the lobby they asked if I wanted cutlery and plates and brought me some.
A hotel with proper soul in the center of Vienna. If you are looking for something different I would recommend this hotel for sure. The hotel itself breathes history, old but accomodated to modern needs with a gorgeous and unique design. The staff is fantastic, friendly and close which makes u feel very welcomed. They also know what they explain to you and share with you local recommendations which, as a foreigner, you truly value them. They offer u a gym, a rooftop, parking if needed and even a complimentary tea afternoon which u really value it after a day walking around no stop. The location is fantastic, extremely well connected with U2, on a vibing neighborhood and next to the city center but far enough to not have tons of people crossing by constantly. On my opinion, the hotel is a must in the city and it truly meets all the standards u can expect from a SLH property. My most sincere thank you to the whole team.
Lovely, calm design hotel with an amazing breakfast including thoughtful gluten free, vegan and lactose free options in a lovely space. The afternoon tea spread is a lovely touch and the location is central and safe. The rooms are a good size and nicely decorated, though the bathroom lacked practical bench space to use for make up application/hair drying and I needed to unplug the phone next to the bed to plug in my charger. Staff were efficient rather than warm which was our experience throughout Austria, so not a reflection on the hotel as such. Highly recommend.
A great 4 star hotel, was once probably grand, it is now unique and elegant. An art / design hotel with big rooms, grand proportions and helpful service. Pleasant touches include complimentary cakes and tea in the living / dining rooms at 4pm. Service is good. The breakfast is one of the best included breakfast we have had including organic and gluten free options.
