This hotel may not be the best one I’ve ever stayed in, but it has a lot of charm, and the location is amazing. The rooms are very old style, but beautiful. The beds are small, but they’re very comfortable in the single rooms. I stayed in September, so the temperature was fine with the fan on, I am a solo traveler, so this was perfect for me.
Great location, but summer stays are a gamble Stayed for 3 nights during a massive heatwave (41°C). I understand it's an old building, but with no AC and only one pedestal fan, the small room was incredibly hot and uncomfortable. The two small beds also felt quite cramped. Breakfast was strictly average. The only real positive is the fantastic location right in the center walking street. Great for convenience, but wouldn't recommend during peak summer heat.
The room was comfy and clean. If you need a/c this is not the place for you. The staff was very helpful and friendly.
We stayed here for one night, and enjoyed our stay. We were prioritizing a hotel with a good location and luggage storage, and this place delivered on both fronts. It was really handy to have the metro stop around the corner when it came to coming from the train station with our bags. They also let us store our bags until the following evening and the luggage storage was large and secure. There are major sites just around the block and that made this a fun location.
It's a good place if you want to stay in the very center of Vienna. Overall: + friendly service + clean rooms + decent breakfast and coffee + location + good wifi + possibility for early check-in + possibility for storing your luggage after check-out +/- pricing (you're paying for location) - no AC (at least not in my room), really hot during summertime - noisy (especially during night time and erly mornings) - thin walls (I could easily hear a guy next door snoring loudly) - requires renovations (old furnitures, carpets and so on) - one elevator only (in which one can smell mold if the elevator is coming from the basement level) - in my room there was no hot water for last 24 hours
