Hotel MOTTO is an independent Boutique Hotel on Vienna’s Mariahilfer Straße and a proud recipient of a MICHELIN Key. The hotel combines Viennese elegance with the spirit of 1920s Paris, with individually designed rooms featuring custom-made furnishings, rich fabrics, marble and carefully selected details that create a residential rather than conventional hotel atmosphere. On the top floor, CHEZ BERNARD Restaurant & Bar sits beneath the hotel’s striking glass dome and opens onto a rooftop terrace overlooking Vienna. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and cocktails are served here. Hotel MOTTO is located directly on the famous Mariahilfer Straße, one of Vienna’s best-known shopping streets, with the MuseumsQuartier, Naschmarkt, Spittelberg and the independent restaurants, cafes and boutiques of Vienna’s 6th and 7th districts within easy reach. Guests also have access to the hotel’s sauna and fitness area. Each room category has its own character, from the intimate Petit and Chic rooms to De Luxe rooms, Junior Suites and the distinctive ART Deluxe rooms.

Beautifully designed and excellently located hotel, with modern rooms with a classic and nostalgic flair. The rooftop is lovely for afternoon/evening cocktails and the restaurant is truly elevated and high quality. There is also a bakery on the street level which is great for a quick breakfast.
To make the experience even better and more complete, a breakfast included in the price would be highly appreciated as it would introduce the high level of the hotel's cuisine to all guests.

The location is fantastic, right in the heart of Vienna and perfect for exploring the city. The staff were welcoming and helpful throughout our stay, and breakfast was delicious.

The attention to detail and exceptional quality of the design at Motto are truly outstanding. Every element has been thoughtfully considered, creating a unique and beautifully curated atmosphere. The reception and bar staff were equally impressive…incredibly warm, helpful, and welcoming and their genuine hospitality made our stay even more memorable.
We absolutely loved our time here and would not hesitate to return. Motto has a wonderful combination of style, comfort, and exceptional service that makes it a truly special place to stay.
This boutique hotel is so beautiful and unique with great history. We had a very safe and comfortable stay, the room was beautiful and the bed was firm but cozy. The AC isn’t like North America (we know this) but we still had a good sleep.
You’ll be greeted with an alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink upon arrival. They even go as far as offering bottled water for your day out and about.

The staff are very kind and efficient at the front desk.
The location is quite perfect! Next to so many restaurants, shopping and the underground public transit.
Book ahead of time for the roof top for drink and food, it’s a beautiful set up!

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Motto! The lobby is cozy and welcoming. It has a true boutique feel. We appreciated our welcome drink after a long travel day. All of the staff we interacted with from the front desk to the housekeepers were very friendly. Our room was thoughtfully designed. Linens are clean and high quality. Blackout curtains helped us have a good sleep. The room set up is interesting with the toilet located separately in what appears to be a closet. The sink and shower is across the room and only enclosed by a curtain. This may be good to know in case you are staying with a friend or family, but otherwise we were happy the toilet has a proper door. Also, please note the mini bar takes up the entire fridge space which is always disappointing when you come with drinks of your own. The hotel is right next to the U Bahn which makes transportation super simple. There is also a bus stop with a direct bus to the main train station across the street. Overall we had an amazing stay and we would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Vienna!
