Hotel Regina

A charming classic with character, comfort, and great views I had often admired this striking historic building by sight during previous visits to Vienna, located right next to the Votivkirche on Rooseveltplatz, but this was my first time staying inside. It retains a classic, old-world charm—complete with heavy physical room keys you leave at reception and traditional porter service for your luggage. The Room: While the property leans classic rather than sleek and modern, my expectations were well exceeded. I stayed in a 5th-floor rooftop room, which was spacious, spotlessly clean, and well-appointed, offering lovely views over the square and towards the Votivkirche. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom, though compact, had a well-designed shower that actually keeps the water contained (a rare find!). Amenities: It was a pleasant surprise to find a well-stocked minibar, which feels like a rarity in hotel rooms these days. Note for solo travellers: The hotel strictly provides one duvet and one set of towels for single occupancy. While perfectly adequate and good quality, don't expect extra spares lined up in the bathroom. Breakfast & Atmosphere: Breakfast is served in an atmospheric dining room with a good selection. A quick tip: try to avoid the peak rush between 07:30 and 08:00, as it can get quite noisy and tables fill up quickly. Location & Overall Experience: Despite facing a busy square, my room was remarkably quiet. The hotel is ideally situated right next to the Schottentor U-Bahn and tram station, making getting around Vienna effortless. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout my stay. The value for money is excellent, and I would certainly book this hotel again for future business trips to Vienna.

Great location, polite staff, rooms good size fridge is old and should be changed, bed was comfortable, bathroom very small which can’t do anything about it l but at least needs updating and modernising. Glad to see vegan products in the room. Breakfast was good quality and enough choices for every one , great selection of teas. Family run business which is lovely. We will definitely come back . The breakfast buffet is amazing, very varied and tasty, many vegetarian options. The rooms were fine, even the ones under the roof thanks to air condition. A bit noisy if you sleep with the window open due to the road, but very fine with the window closed. Location excellent.

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful and well-connected area of Vienna, near the subway and walking distance to city-centre. The rooms themselves are fine, pretty much what you would expect from a nice but old hotel. No complaints. Breakfast was good and the staff were always very nice!
