The hotel was nice, safe, and convenient, and it had everything I needed for a comfortable stay in Vienna. However, unfortunately, I had a very upsetting experience that significantly affected my overall impression of the hotel. I clearly remember placing my ring on the coffee table in my room before leaving the hotel. When I returned, the ring was gone. I am certain about where I left it, so naturally, I have serious concerns about what happened while I was away. What made the experience even more disappointing was the hotel’s response. I raised my concern, but I did not feel that the matter was properly investigated or that any meaningful solution was offered. The situation was essentially left unresolved, with no satisfactory outcome. I understand that the hotel may not be able to immediately determine what happened, but I expected a more thorough investigation, better communication, and a greater sense of responsibility when a guest reports missing personal belongings. It is unfortunate because, apart from this incident, the hotel itself was pleasant and had everything I needed. However, the experience left me feeling disappointed and uncomfortable. For me, a good hotel is not just about its facilities and location, but also about trust, the security of guests’ belongings, and how management responds when something goes wrong. I sincerely hope the hotel takes such concerns more seriously in the future.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An exceptional stay - hospitality at its finest! We had a wonderful stay at the Mercure Hotel at Westbahnhof Vienna. Perfectly located for anyone visiting Vienna - you couldn't ask for a better location. What made our stay truly special was the outstanding team at reception. We received such a warm greeting from Gabor when we arrived which immediately made us feel welcome. We later dealt with Maxine, who was so incredibly helpful to us with everything we needed. And then Jessica and Dragana as well - all of them were so professional, accommodating, polite, and patient. Even with long lines to deal with, they conducted themselves with such patience and class. You can tell this is a team that genuinely cares about their guests. The hospitality was second to none. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Vienna! Thank you again to Maxine, Gabor, Jessica and Dragana for making our visit so memorable.
Then I came from Bucharest with train in the morning - September 19 - I meet a Service-minded woman in the Reception. She saw that I was sleepy after 18 hours train travelling and brought me a room quick. - She understood service! On the room I found a kettle, so I made a cup of tea and some noodle soup from my luggage. Then a well-deserved shower after my traintrip. My room had a view to the street, but completly silent from traffic noice - Perfect! The room wasn´t directly new, but well-maintained, more feeling of retro - Nice! Location. Perfect near Westbahnhof and public transport. The breakfast buffet was okay, but the staff were "a bit" too quick to clear away the food—though I reminded them that I was on vacation and eat slowly.
We had a very pleasant 5-day stay at this hotel and we were more than happy with our choice. Very clean, quiet/ peaceful and comfortable hotel with attentive staff. Around the clock reception desk staff to rely on was a plus. The hotel is conveniently located in a very safe neighborhood, just steps away from the Westbahnhof metro station and the mall inside. The mall had very decent bakeries we loved having breakfast at. Clothing stores, supermarkets, book stores, drugstores, eateries etc are all available inside the mall underground. I’d stay here if I ever went back to Vienna and would recommend anyone going.
This hotel honestly was the perfect location for us, and the cheapest we could find and that’s why we chose it. Being right next to a major train station with its own tram stops and underground stops was essential. It also had a Billa (supermarket), Lidl, McDonald’s and Ikea right next to it for food. The staff were friendly and our plane was severely delayed so we didn’t get to check in till 1.30am the next morning and they were fine about it all thank goodness. After I’d heard horror stories of people saying they weren’t guaranteed their rooms past a certain time in the evening I was panicking! Luckily all was fine. We didn’t eat in the hotel so can’t comment on that but they did have vending machines in the lobby with snacks and drinks. They also had seating areas and even a little tiny outdoor bit with deck chairs. Our room was on the first floor right by the lift so easy to get to. It was clean, very basic but did its purpose. The only downgrade is for the really hard beds and only one flat pillow, but I feel like that’s a European standard most places. Other than that it had tea and coffee, a tv (in German of course), wardrobe space and a safe. If you want cheap, with a good location this is a safe bet!
