If you are looking for a place that is at the same time calm and located in the city center, this is the perfect choice for you. The inside of the hotel is elegant and there is a decent choice of food during breakfast. The room itself is decent as well, AC works without any issues. The staff is always kind and helpful. Mrs. Lea and Mr. Florian are very professional and patient. The hotel offers you daily bottle of water for free, which is a solution for hot days of summer.
The Josefshof hotel was exceptional (and I’m an avid traveller with high standards). It is a wonderful boutique hotel on an idyllic quiet street in the centre of all the best historic sites but away from any chaos and tourists. The rooms were very clean and well-appointed, staff was lovely, and the feel in the hotel was calming and charming. The breakfast is fantastic and the attention to detail is impressive (a honeycomb?!). I loved having breakfast in the courtyard garden and returning there later in the day for some down time. I will not look anywhere else to stay for my next visit to Wien. I love everything about this hotel.
We spent there 4 nights with breakfasts. Hotel is really nice, service crew super polite and helpfull, absolutely no remarks regarding this. But breakfasts... theese are simply true feasts, and I'm sure they satisfy the most picky eater - and this is probably the biggest advantage of this place besides localisation (quiet street close to the city center and museums). Decor is quite mediocre and really 2010's, even a bit "glam-oish" in style, which unfortunately was not properly depicted on adverdising photos. Neverthless - we were spending there only nights, so it was not a problem. If I could recommend something, it surely would be improving standard of cleanliness of bathrooms - they could be way cleaner (showers, corners!!!) and bear no traces of wear (basins!!!). But after all my opinion is that the hotel is worth staying and coming back.
We recently spent 4 nights at the Josefshof am Rathaus, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. First and foremost, the location is unbeatable. The hotel itself is beautifully maintained, and the cleanliness throughout our stay was immaculate. Our room was spotless, fresh, and provided a peaceful retreat after long days of exploring the city. What truly sets this hotel apart, though, is the incredible staff. A huge, heartfelt thank you to Lea, Florian, and Olga at the front desk. They were super supportive, endlessly helpful, and always greeted us with genuine warmth. Whether we needed a local recommendation or quick assistance, they went above and beyond to make us feel right at home.
Rooms are spacious, bright, and the beds are exceptionally comfortable. Special thanks to Anika and Milena at the breakfast buffet - they both made my stay better even tho it was already 10/10 and besides them, the whole breakfast staff was great. The breakfast in general was the best I ever had at a hotel. Bar staff was great. Reception staff was great. Will definitely stay here again when the opportunity comes.
