We stayed at the hotel for two nights and overall had a very pleasant experience. The hotel is clean, well-maintained, and beautifully designed. The location is extremely convenient, with easy access to parking and public transportation. We came to the city for a concert at the nearby stadium, and being able to walk there was a huge advantage. We stayed in a large corner suite, which was very spacious, comfortable, and nicely designed. The only downside was the bathroom layout. The bathtub/shower and sinks are in one room, while the toilet is located separately on the other side of the room. You have to walk through a hallway to get from one to the other, which felt a little odd and not particularly practical. The breakfast was tasty and offered a good variety. However, despite having enough guests to fill both breakfast areas, only one side was open, which created significant congestion. The breakfast area became very crowded, making it difficult to move around and access the buffet comfortably. The number of staff in the breakfast area also seemed insufficient for the number of guests. Finding an empty table was quite difficult, and when we did find one, it was often still not cleared from the previous guests. In addition, refilling items at the buffet, such as jam and other breakfast essentials, sometimes took quite a while.

The room I had was extremely spacious with all modern amenities present. What stood out for me was the great service at check in. I was planning on taking a walk and the lady on reception gave me some great advice on where to go in the local area.

The “green choice” has quietly become a way to deliver less for the same money. Three days, no cleaning, no fresh towels. Not mentioned when we booked, or if it is, it doesn’t stand out. Nobody mentioned at check-in. Just a small notice in the room and later we saw on the front desk, presenting reduced service as the default. They are cleaning the room every 3 days. How convenient, because usually 2-3 nights is the typical booking. Genuine environmental programs are opt-in, disclosed upfront, and offer guests something in return. This was none of those, and the rate matched fully-serviced hotels in the area. If Marriott wants to operate this way, the price has to reflect it — and the policy has to be visible before the booking is made, not after.
