2hr surf lesson for my daughter for Xmas present, never surfed before and had a great time. Excellent customer service, staff at the shop very friendly and welcoming. Amazing experience!!! The weather was great and the waves were perfect🌊🏄🏼‍♀️🏄🏻 All the staff is very friendly, the owner helped us immediately to find a place in the lesson on the same day. Not only was it one of the most gorgeous days in April, I got to spend it down in Torquay surfing with Go Ride A Wave Torquay. Joel was awesome, super knowledgeable and encouraging from beginning to end. Feel so much more confident out on the waves. I will definitely be back for some more fun times in the surf!

I had a great time in a private lesson with Ola. Her instructions were very clear and precise. She watched my posture and moves on every wave and her feedback helped me improve after each wave. Very friendly and knowledgeable too. Location and facilities were great and would recommend to any curious and slightly nervous beginners like me!

I took my ten year-old son on a "boys trip" few days on the coast and decided on the hop to try a surfing lesson. At 59 with arthritis I struggled and didn't quite get to stand but my son did several times, which was more my goal to see him having fun. We had an outstanding instructor named Conner. He was polite, patient and constantly very positive and encouraging. 100% recommended!

Thanks to Beth for helping me to advance my pop up skills. It was my second class with Torquay go ride a wave. I had six other people in my group from all over the world. I have been struggling with my placement on the board for a long time however Beth gave me very helpful tips and now my success rate of pop up has become over 50%! Just Amazing!

Absolutely Awesome! I'm 50 and never surfed before, booked a 2 hour lesson, great value for money, surfing instructor Tani ... (hope I spelt his name correctly) was fantastic. He was very clear on instructions, very informative whilst also giving us a few laughs along the way. He got us out in the water on our boards and standing up in no time (and falling off of course!!) It was a great experience and I highly recommend Go Ride a Wave in Torquay 🌊🏄‍♀️😊👍

Our instructor Joel was great right from introduction at the shop through to the on beach lesson and the continuing feedback while in the water. Thanks to Joel’s laidback and friendly approach we quickly found ourselves eventually standing up and riding waves. We ended up hiring the boards a bit longer to reinforce the skills Joel had taught us. Highly recommend.

Highly recommend - a great experience and fun. My 9-year-old niece and I did a 2 hr lesson on Tuesday afternoon and had a great time. Instructors were patient, professional, encouraging and friendly. Great value for the cost. Recommend Go Ride A Wave Torquay for sure.

My daughter and her friend had two lessons on Friday and Saturday. They are 12 and they loved it. Instructors were really good and they mananged to get up on the surf board so they were so happy with themsleves. The staff at the shop are also excellent, so friendly and enthusiastic. I highly recommend this activity and a great one to do as a family also.

From booking to the shower afterwards back at the shop, everything was great. Easy process, very friendly and professional staff, from Tim booking and at the shop, and Hanna who took the lesson at the beach and helped in the water ... and thankfully didn't need to save us! Highly recommend for quality of service, and value for money.

Had an amazing couple of hours out on the water. This was my first time on a board & very inexperienced. I’d go so far to say that I’m quite afraid of breakers and being in the surf but felt totally comfortable the whole way through and now I just want to go again! We had Xander who was super chilled, friendly, and didn’t put any pressure on us while always there for advice and tips and checked in with us for safety the whole way through. Exactly how I like to learn. Felt amazing to experience surfing for the first time at the home of surfing! 100% recommend and already checking the forecast for tomorrow!

Despite being winter we had a great lesson. With wetsuits water was not cold at all. At the end we were almost able to stand on the board.

Hugh was a brilliant teacher, despite tricky conditions he was able to get my whole family up and managing to stand up and we had a great time, he managed to give us all a great experience. Thank you!

What an incredible experience with a terrific bunch of teachers! My 12 year old son who is shy and struggles in group situation’s absolutely loved the surf class today. It was an incredibly empowering class for him to take on the surf and be able to stand on his board. The way the teachers interacted with students and the clear and thoughtful advice they gave them will be something they will carry for a lifetime. Simple message of “never surf alone” is something he will never forget, but above that the way he felt out there in the surf, free yet completely sade around capable teachers who actually cared about him and his learning is something that he and I will treasure for a lifetime. Thank you legends! What a magnificent experience

Great fun, the instructors were awesome making sure we were all getting waves despite being a big group. Only piece of advice would be to use decent sun cream as we got burnt faces even with factor 50

The instructors were friendly and really looked out for everyone in the surf, making sure that everyone got their attention and that no one got too far from the group. The whole set up works really well with wetsuits and boards with an easy walk down to the beach.

The instructors are great, encouraging, supportive and positive in their approach. A fun activity for all.
