Mark gave us a great visit on the GOR, starting in the reverse direction was brilliant. No crowds and new 12 Apostles visitor center had just opened. It is beautiful and set the stage for what we needed to know. Loved going through the forests and hills as well, felt like a very good orientation to what that area of Australia has to offer. Cute little towns as we headed back to Melbourne. Long day and worth every minute of it! Even saw koalas and kangaroos in the wild. That was a bonus, Hit the Road knew the out-of-the-way spots and with only 12 people could see so much and keep moving along.
I booked the Great Ocean Road Reverse Itinerary premium tour today with my wife. Included a hotel pickup which was great. My driver for today's tour was Kevin. He was early at my first hotel pick up which was much appreciated. Kevin was very knowledgeable on Australia's history about the tour and provided a lot of details about the tour. Driving was good and safe. He provided details and guided us on whats next, wheres next, toilet breaks, foods, etc. A great guy as a tour guide and driver.
Reverse Great Ocean is the way to go! Marty, with Hit The Road, is not only a competent driver but probably the best guide that I recall. Extremely knowledgeable, funny, and accommodating !
It was a beautiful trip full of amazing scenery and the twelve apostles were great. Walking through the rain forest was cool too. Jimmy was knowledgeable and had a few secret spots to see wild kangaroos and koalas which turned out awesome because we saw a mon of kangaroos and a couple of koalas and their babies. This would be a 5 star review if Jimmy was more assertive and didn’t let one disgruntled family dictate the tour, timing and schedule.

Fantastic experience from start to finish. Easy pick up at our hotel by Mark our guide who was really informative and friendly enough guiding and standing back which was great. Tour was fantastic and doing it in reverse meant no huge crowds or queues. Was really breathtaking also got see Koalas and Kangaroos which was the icing on the cake. Great tour and guide.

Our experience was FABULOUS!! It was a full day tour , and took us to all the spots they mentioned they would. It was perfectly on time. Our guide Pete was literally the best - he was so friendly, warm , and gave us a ton of information about everything on the tour ! We would love to do this tour yet again when we come the next time !
We saw a lot of sights. You are in a van driving a lot but you cover a great distance very worth the time in the van. The can was warm we asked to turn the air up. He did put it on high, we were sitting up front but still feet warm. My clothes were sticking to me. Included items were bottled water. This was a 12 hour tour. Water was never offered to us. We did afk and were given one bottle. I felt that was inadequate for the trip. Other than that we lived our guide it was a greatcexcurdion.
Perfect day for the 5 of us including 3 x young adults. We all enjoyed Marty’s commentary and wit. He was very knowledgeable and accommodating. The tour is a long day but you do fit so much in. Recommended.

Our guide Ann was fantastic! Give this woman a raise. The tour was packed with wonderful sights, we saw so much but didn’t feel rushed through anything or had to wait for crowds very much at all. It was exactly the experience we were hoping for.
We had a Great day on the Great Ocean Road reverse trip. Our guide, Marty, was quite knowledgeable and very entertaining. He had a good sense of humor which helps on a full-day outing. We were also lucky to have gorgeous weather. I highly recommend this reverse itinerary since you start out the day with the amazing rock formations and end the day with amazing beaches. The rainforest is sandwiched in the middle. Overall, it's a wonderful way to spend a day out of Melbourne.
Amazing Great Ocean Road day tour! The schedule is well arranged so we skipped big tourist crowds. Our guide had very steady driving. Despite the long round trip, the journey never felt exhausting. He introduced plenty of local culture and the history behind Great Ocean Road throughout the drive. A wonderful experience!

Absolutely amazing day. Our guide Marty was superb!! He was incredibly kind and helped not only keep us moving along with our activities for the day, but he made sure we knew what to anticipate with clear instructions. The day is in fact long, but you get many opportunities for beautiful walks in various different climates with many bathroom breaks. The scenery is stunning. Reverse itinerary is really the way to go. I give my highest recommendation for this tour and tour company. Lunch stop was also fantastic. Thank you

This was fun. While it is a long day, we did a lot and it was planned in a way that avoided the heaviest crowds. Ann, our guide was experienced which helped in finding koalas and kangaroos in the wild.

We had a great day on the Great Ocean Road tour with Jimmy from Hit the Road Tours! The itinerary was well planned, and I especially liked that it was a reverse itinerary. We managed to avoid most of the crowds and got some really good views at the various lookout points without feeling too rushed. The weather was also beautiful that day, which made the scenery even more amazing! Jimmy was a fantastic guide — really knowledgeable and clearly knows the Great Ocean Road very well. He even took us on a short walk through the rainforest, which was a really nice addition to the day. One of the highlights was also getting to see kangaroos and koalas in the wild! Jimmy knew exactly where to look and seemed to have a knack for spotting them. He was also a steady driver, which we appreciated given how much driving is involved on this tour. He kept to the schedule well while still giving us enough time at the different stops, so the whole day felt very well-paced. Overall, a really enjoyable Great Ocean Road experience. Great itinerary, beautiful scenery, lovely weather and, most importantly, a guide who really knows his stuff. Jimmy even kindly gave everyone a mini koala as a souvenir, which was a nice touch. Would happily recommend this tour to anyone looking for a well-organised tour.
This tour is a absolutely must do if you ever visit Melbourne. It was a smart idea to do the tour in reverse because we barely ran into other crowds. Just know that it will be an early trip so make sure you set your alarm really early but it's worth it I got picked up directly at my hotel and I was the first one. If you are getting picked up and there are seats available, try to stick to the right side of the van. That way you get to see the ocean view. Left side will be for inland view. You'll see more wildlife on that side. It's an all-day trip so probably don't party too hard the day before. And expect to be tired afterwards. There is little walking involved. Nothing too strenuous. Just make sure to bring comfortable shoes Everything is going to be nature base except for a couple things when you visit the chocolate factory and the town. Lunch is not included. That's okay because the spot that they stop at has plenty of options. You can't go wrong with the fish and chips. And it's not expensive either. Just make sure to bring some snacks as well if you're the type to get hungry. I like to bring protein bar And water The tour guide was extremely friendly and he made me feel comfortable since I was a Solo traveler. Gave us plenty of recommendations in Melbourne as well. Has great knowledge about all the towns that we visited in is very funny. I'm normally not the type to do these types of chores, but this one was definitely worth it since it's a long drive and if I were to do it myself I wouldn't have known a lot of these spots
Me and my partner really enjoyed the whole trip from beginning to end. Our favourite part was the view at the 12apostle and seeing those kuala’s. Also my partner really enjoyed seeing those group of roos.. big thanks to hit the tours especially to Miss Ann very cool tour guide and driver👏👏
An absolutely fantastic experience on the Great Ocean Road and at the Twelve Apostles. The scenery was breathtaking from start to finish, with incredible coastal views, beaches, cliffs and beautiful forests. A special mention to Ann, who was an outstanding guide. She was knowledgeable and attentive throughout the whole day. She made the experience even more enjoyable with her explanations and great attitude, and you could really see how much effort she put into making sure everyone had a wonderful time. We were also lucky enough to seekoalas and kangaroos in the wild, which made the experience even more special and unforgettable. Highly recommended, definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Australia.
Our guide Jimmy was fabulous. He went out of his way to be sure all our needs were met. We traveled in a small group. There were only 12 people, which made the experience more personal.

Fantastic tour. Our guide Peter was immediately like an old friend eager to show off his town and surroundings. Can’t possibly say enough good things about his knowledge, storytelling and character. 10+. Great music playlist Peter! Only possible negative is the vans selected by the company. Don’t get me wrong, they provide very nice Sprinter van. New and tidy. But this tour is a windy road. German suspension and suitable for the autobahn isn’t optimal for a bumpy Australia road. A bit harsh at times. Don’t let my van comment dissuade you. It’s a great day!
