Jon was our driver for the day. Sent a message the night introducing himself and providing extra info about the meeting point info etc. Lovely guy, very adaptable, highly organised and a great communicator. Will book again and can highly recommend the Hop On Hop Off bus

We have used Hopit twice this week to go to the Yarra Valley and Mornington Peninsula with Jordyn as our guide. I can’t recommend it highly enough as a way to get around and try some spectacular wineries. Jordyn is hugely knowledgeable and it improved our experience massively having his advice and tips. If you have time, do both tours! You won’t regret it.

My husband and I had a wonderful day in the Yarra with our absolute favourite vineyard being Coombe Estate. We would not have been to this treasure if it was not for the great Itinerary prepared for us by Hop On / Hop Off. It was the home of Dame Nellie Melba and really increased my interest in her. The young French sommelier at Coombe was so knowledgable and kind. We ended up buying 6 bottles of wine and have ordered another 6 since then. They are very reasonably priced. We had morning tea to soak up the generous “ tastings “ we were given. We had the best scones with freshly made jam and cream I have ever had. We would love to return here for lunch. The other highlight for us was “ Four Pillars Gin. “ The service was excellent and we did not feel out of place even though we are past “ hipster “ age. The sticky date pudding was scrumptious and needed to soak up the generous serves of gin. I had insisted we go to Chandon but we found the service lacking and it did have a lot of international tourists. The view was beautiful. We will definately use the service again when we go to Melbourne. My husband really enjoyed discussing food with our warm Welsh driver. Most people quietly dozed on the way back. The tour is suitable for people that may use a walking stick. I notified them previously and my husband and I were given the front seats. I was able to enter and exit the van without a problem , even after a few gins at our last stop :)

Thank you Ceps for a wonderful experience in the Yarra Valley. Absolutely perfect time of year to go. Gorgeous first stop at Punt road, our server really knew his wine & very informative on the vineyard which we appreciated. Next stop was Chandon for lunch which was delicious and our servers were lovely. Last stop was Dominique Portet which was a perfect way to end the day outside as the sun was setting. Thank you Hop It this was our second trip with you guys and we absolutely love you. Would highly recommend & we will be back for sure 💕.

This hop-on hop-off wine tour in the Yarra Valley was one of the highlights of my trip. I loved the flexibility of being able to choose my own itinerary and visit wineries at my own pace. The experience was both relaxing and fun. Knowing I had a reliable driver made it even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this for anyone looking to experience the Yarra Valley wineries in a flexible, convenient, and enjoyable way.

A very pleasant and efficient experience. Run with military precision, in a nice way, by a very sociable couple. Plan which vineyards you wish to visit (or get help from them, for a chage). Then they drop you off and pick up at approximately 1hr intervals. Communication is great and you are in no doubt what you need to do. You can get up to 4 1hr visits in a day. What you do at each stop is up to you and at your cost. Would really recommend as a convenient way of executing a tour of multiple vineyards. Pickups from either Melbourne or Lilydale rail station.

We took the Red Route Yarra Valley wine tasting and absolutely loved it. The organization and communication by Jon and his team was outstanding starting weeks before our trip. The day ran like a well oiled machine taking all the worries away so all we had to do was enjoy the wines and the venues. The bus was comfortable and Jon is knowledgeable and extremely personable. They will even curate your day for you if you like. Top marks all around. We highly recommend their team’s services.

A great way to get around the wineries in the Yarra Valley. Convenient city location at Grand Hyatt for pickup and drop off. Online booking was easy. Our guide/driver Ceps gave some good inside tips on the wineries. Comfortable van. Very punctual for all drop offs and pickups. Complementary bottled water. Highly recommended.

The entire experience was excellent. The communications in advance and during the day were clear and allowed us to make changes to our itinerary on the fly. Jon was very knowledgeable and extremely well organized.

We had a great experience using the Hop It bus (red route) from Lillydale to Yarra Valley wineries. We were lucky enough to have Sara as our driver who was very knowledgable of the area and industry. Sara kept us to our schedule to ensure we made it to all of our winery bookings and enjoyed the day. Sara was fun, approachable and great at her job. Strongly recommend this service if you are looking for a way to tour the Yarra valley.

We did a hop on day tour with Jon and it was a super easy way to hit up four different wineries without having a designated driver. We had just the right amount of time to do three tastings of wine/gin/sparkling and one lunch. It was the perfect day and beautiful wine and food. We took some beautiful pictures too, see below!

We highly recommend this tour. Our driver, John, went out of his way to assure that we had the experience we wanted. Not being drinkers, John dropped us off at the animal sanctuary and made lunch reservations for us at a wonderful winery. He kept us informed with texts and picked us up right on time every time. He also kept us entertained on the van. Wonderful trip!

Had a fantastic time and couldn’t recommend this enough. The whole experience was easy and Jon was incredibly communicative and knowledgable. Unlike other wine tours, this gives you the flexibility to plan yourself (or they can for you), which meant that we could take our time and be exactly where we wanted, rather than being rushed from one place to the next. What Jon has put together is such a great idea and truly great.

A great relaxing drive through the Yarra Valley. It was so easy being dropped off to visit wineries we had chosen and were able to stay for the amount of time we wanted...then picked up at the arranged time. A great way to experience the wineries and enjoy worry free tastings. Our driver, Seb, gave some interesting facts just before arriving at each winery, and some tips on things to do and try. A really enjoyable day

What a great day out. Having looked at several options, this tour seemed ideal. Central location pick up and then a flexible itinerary that allowed us to visit the wineries we wanted. Communication via WhatsApp was excellent and our minibus was comfortable for the journey to Yarra. Jon our guide (and owner) was great and gave us some some interesting history and facts, as well as suggestions on what are the best wines to try/buy at each stop. As we had a small group, Jon was able to offer flexibility over timings which was great as we were able to fit 4 stops in.

We had a fantastic day with Jon on the Red Route Yarra Valley tour. He was welcoming, knowledgeable, and had a great playlist in the minibus! He also gave us dinner recommendations for that evening and his suggestion of Lucy Lui was spot on. We enjoyed the hop on hop off format, which allowed us to choose places that we most liked the sound of, and have a bit more independence than a 'traditional' group tour. For wineries, we visited Helen & Joey, Tokar, and Pimpernel. They were all different and enjoyable, with Pimpernel being our favourite of the day. We'd definitely recommend booking with Hop It!
