We had a beautiful stay at Yering Gorge Cottages with friends and family for our wedding. We were able to book multiple cottages via email and everyone marveled at how lovely the accommodation was. Waking up each morning to kangaroos was such a delight. The cabins had been refreshed leaving many of them looking different (and improved) to what we saw on the website which was fantastic given we took our getting ready photos there. We can’t wait to be back there one day.

Fantastic in the true sense of the word. Fantasy. The cottage we had, named the “Waterfall” cottage, was the deepest into the gorge and the last before pure nature. At points (when we arrived at midday) it was completely surrounded by kangaroos. I mean they were happily lazing and grazing everywhere. (Although my photos don’t do it justice) It was a photo opportunity dream come true. The cocky on the Weber (whom I named Russell) with the kangaroos in the surrounding background was a quintessential Australian bush moment and it’s amazing how woven into the stay this experience is - a special moment. It was very cool to have to drive slowly along the sweet winding drive through the lush Eastern Golf course, due to the vast number of kangaroos lining the driveway. The cottage itself was spacious, well appointed, stylish but comfortable and easy to heat up with the wood fire, which was quite economical and very effective. (There was also a wall mounted heater but we didn’t need that.) The spa was excellent and the bed and bedding was perfect. Space, comfort and warmth. Breakfast was great with healthy options and other tasty options. The coffee was perfectly full bodied and easy to prepare well. Our complimentary bottle of red went well with the raging fire and smooth tunes in the evening. Birdlife kept the atmosphere light and melodic, and at one point for only a minute when I was up for the bathroom at 4am, I was lucky enough to hear the soft beautiful call of an owl. Only for a minute… then back to pure serenity and sleeping bliss. All up the stay was remarkable and we will be back. Thank you Yering Gorge Cottages, You’re running beautiful spaces in a sensational corner of the world.
Had a lovely stay at Yering Gorge Cottages. The self contained cottage was very clean cosy and had everything we needed. We loved the space and the outdoor surroundings with all the kangaroos and cockatoos. Such a relaxing vibe. The extra goodies for breakfast and snacks was really nice touch as well.
We stayed at the villa to host a dinner for our extended family ahead of the wedding the following day. In total, the wedding party and family members rented eight cottages, which were all beautifully designed, functional, and set within a unique landscape surrounded by wildlife. Kathryn Lowe went above and beyond to accommodate us—doing her best to arrange the cottages close together and securing early check-in for one cottage and the villa so we could prepare the meal. The villa proved to be the perfect setting to host a memorable dinner for the bride and groom, the wedding party, and immediate family.
Peaceful, wildlife-filled stay at Yering Gorge Cottages We stayed for three nights in November 2025 at the Waterfall Cottage, right at the end of the property. It was quiet, private, and really well set up—comfortable bed, clean space, and everything we needed. The view from the veranda was beautiful, and we had cockatoos drop by each morning which was a lovely touch. The walking tracks were great for short strolls. We did the Circle Walk and spotted a wombat on one of the trails—gave it space and turned around, but it was a highlight. Kangaroos were everywhere, especially in the mornings and evenings, and we saw plenty of kookaburras too. Overall, it was a calm, nature-filled escape. No noise, no rush—just peaceful surroundings and lots of wildlife. We’d definitely stay again.
