Another excellent stay at Quest! We are very loyal Quest travellers and this relatively new hotel apartment complex did not disappoint. This Quest is within easy walking distance to some good food venues. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment on the top floor for four nights. Corrine (on reception) was helpful. When we checked in, we were also provided with some water and mints - a nice touch. The room service was also very good with efficient staff including the very pleasant Nia and supervisor Gaya. We asked for a quiet room and that's exactly what we got. Plus, plenty of terrific views from a high vantage point at the front of the building :-) This newish building has plenty of modern features (including a very good shower). One thing to consider might be to have plunger coffee or a coffee machine in the room. Good coffee is important and these days, Nescafe instant coffee packets is just not up to the expected standard for many. Another issue we noticed was that the waiting area near the lifts seems to attract guests waiting for ach other at certain times of the day (such as before dinner). Sometimes these guests can become very loud. A sign on the wall to remind people to keep the noise down (as there are other guests nearby) might be a good idea! It was terrific to be able to park our car safely in the secure parking at the base of the building. However, on one night we arrived back after dinner and JUST managed to squeeze into the only available parking space left. Overall, very happy with everything and would stay here again when in Ballarat. We did not meet the manager / owner Amber Khanna but appreciated the notice in the room and saw her car parked each day. Here are some photos from our recent stay...
Great location with friendly and helpful staff. While there is no room service, the team was more than happy to assist with Uber Eats deliveries and offered fresh towels when rooms weren’t serviced over the weekend. It was also nice to see the hallways being freshly touched up with paint, showing that the property is well maintained and that management is committed to keeping everything in excellent condition. Overall, a comfortable stay with great customer service.
My wife & I stayed here recently for 2 nights in a studio apartment. It's our second time at this hotel in the past few months Good things - the hotel is modern & the accommodation is relatively clean & comfortable - the woman at reception is very efficient & pleasant - it's a short walk to the centre of the city - very close to Ballarat railway station. If your room faces the station & you like to sleep with the balcony door slightly open, however, then the train-associated noises are very noticeable - secure underground parking - Wi-Fi speeds are very fast, I recorded a download speed of 489mbs on our first night in the room Needs improvement - cleaning staff did not service our room on the first full day of our stay. Their cleaning trolleys were close to the door of our room when we removed the 'Do Not Disturb' sign & left for the day. My wife is recovering from an illness & just wanted to go to bed when we returned that afternoon so I didn't bother contacting reception to have the room serviced When we showered the next morning, we discovered the Body Wash container in the shower was empty I advised the male receptionist about both issues the next morning as we were checking out - the pillows are small & uncomfortable, though this may be a personal preference - there seem to be only 3 USB-A plugs in our room, one each in the table lamp & in both bedside lamps. Accordingly, they are unacceptably slow eg. the battery on my Tablet was at 56% & it would have taken more than 5 hours to fully charge it. Fortunately, we'd brought fast USB chargers & cables A modern hotel needs fast charging USB-C plugs - the toilet paper is thinner than some tissues we use - water pressure in the shower was weak plus a lot of water from the shower leaked onto the bathroom floor due to gaps on the side & under the shower door In general, we like the hotel but cleaning issues both times we stayed really need addressing by way of staff training & closer monitoring by hotel management
Rooms are modern and clean, we were able to check in easily and staff on front desk were helpful and friendly. Underground parking is an additional $15 per night. The gym is small but well equipped and wasn’t busy when we were staying. Our rooms had large aspects of north facing windows which was lovely. The location is an easy walk into the centre of town with plenty of eateries within walking distances. Overall we were very happy with our stay.
