Bay City Motel Geelong

Whilst exterior of building looks a little tired, the room was spotlessly clean. Felt safe. Great location. Would stay again

The lady was very rude we me and my partner got there and we could small dope coming from one of the rooms. The bed was very uncomfortable was hard a rock.

The accomodation in the bay city Geelong motel is outstanding very affordable for the unquie feeling that it give you. As soon as I walked in I felt at home and a luxurious vibe washed over me. Stayed here for one night rather than drive back to Melbourne. Fabulous location, walking distance to major shops and the waterfront. Check-in lady was very nice. Room 8 (ground) looked nice on entry. Couch arms very worn. Nice modern bathroom but only 2 tissues left in the box and my friend needed more! Found a glass (in cupboard under microwave) so I could take a pill. It had lipstick on it. And now to the bed. The giant king size bed. From the second we sat on it, we knew what lay ahead. When I say this bed is firm, I am using firm as I would to describe wooden boards. But wooden boards have a bit of give in them, so maybe firm as in concrete. It doesn't seem possible that a bed can be that hard! Especially as I pulled back the sheet to see what was going on under there. There was a thin foam mattress topper on top of a standard type of mattress with a built-in pillow top (pillows are usually soft!). And there *still* wasn't any give in the mattress! Safe to say it was one of the worst sleeps we've had in many years. I was sharing with a friend (couldn't get twin beds) and we discussed how a prison cell bed would probably be more comfortable. We're both in our early 60s. Stiff and sore in the morning we didn't hang around! Please management, PLEASE get rid of that mattress! It's unfit for purpose and quite possibly a torture device. I really hope the mattresses in other rooms are better than the dreaded Room 8 Mattress, which will now go down in history!
