A great relaxing cruise and an exceptional dinner. Amanda the chef cooked a wonderful 3 course meal

Itinerary
As you cruise on the upper Zambezi River, you will also see the mist rising up from the magical Victoria Falls. The Zambezi River is the fourth-longest river in Africa, the longest east-flowing river in Africa and the largest flowing into the Indian Ocean from Africa. The 2,574-kilometre-long river (1,599 mi) arises in Zambia and flows through eastern Angola, along the north-eastern border of Namibia and the northern border of Botswana, then along the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe to Mozambique, where it crosses the country to empty into the Indian Ocean. The Zambezi's most noted feature is Victoria Falls.
This park consists of 40km of the Zambezi River frontage and a spread of wildlife, rich inland mopane forest and savanna. Zambezi National Park is conjoined with Victoria Falls National Park and both parks cover an area of 56 000 hectares. A wide variety of larger mammals may be found within the park. If you are lucky you might come across animals such as hippos, elephant, crocodiles, kudus as you cruise on the Zambezi River.
The Eatery Dinner Experience entices guests to enjoy al fresco dining at The Eatery at the Pure Africa Waterfront, where a delicious three-course meal is served by lantern light and enjoyed under a star-studded African sky. The Eatery Dinner Experience focuses on a carefully curated selected of African infused dishes prepared with high quality ingredients and prepared to perfection, each accompanied by your drink of choice. Perched on the banks of the river, on arrival gather around the fire-pit before following the lanterns to your table for dinner – the roar of the distant Falls, the grunting hippos and call of the fiery-necked nightjar for company.

The staff were great . The food was abundant and delicious, and the views were lovely. We saw elephants and hippos and crocodiles. The people who were sitting with fun to talk to. I cannot imagine a better experience. We sat on the very top level which gave us an amazing view and we also had the dinner. After all the food we had on the boat, going to dinner was a little bit too much because we were already full
A wonderful sunset river cruise with sightings of hippos, birds and other wildlife, followed by a 3 course dinner in their riverside restaurant. The boat was beautiful, and drinks and food very nice. Between canapés on the boat and the dinner there was a huge amount of food - too much for me but couldn’t fault the generosity of the company. Went with friends to mark the end of a holiday - perfect end to a great trip.
Very relaxing and fun filled evening. Wonderful food, good drinks and lovely crew. Saw plenty of wildlife along the way.
Wow is all I can say. We paid for the signature deck and it was plush and special. Our table was already assigned so no fighting over seats. The seats we had were comfy couches. We had a designated waitress and she kept the drinks coming. There were 8 different food offerings that came one at a time as we cruised along. They brought individual portions of each food item to each person at our table. All we had to do was enjoy, and we did. The view from the top deck was fantastic. After the boat ride we had a wonderful outdoor dinner along the waterfront. This activity was a highlight of our trip. We took another dinner boat ride with a different company after this as part of a package and were surprised and disappointed by the difference (uncomfortable seats, minimal snacks, limited bar, small size, too many people). Not all sunset boat rides are the same and this one is top notch. This is the one you want and get the signature deck, it’s worth it.
The best service, top notch cruise, excellent, attentive staff and a simply amazing experience. The Eatery was great for dinner, the setup quite incredibly done with candlelit dinner tables, a huge beautifully arranged seating area with a great firepit. Lovely food and a truly memorable experience. From the pickup to the drop off and in between, this was spledid.
Lovely activity to do with family. Comfortable boat. Tasty canapes on the boat and vast menu of drinks whilst enjoying the scenery the Zambezi had to offer. Saw hoppo, croc, impala, warthogs and baboons Staffon boat and at eatery were attentive and friendly. Dinner at the Eatery was delicious. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
The Pure Africa experience is not be missed! We did the sunset cruise + dinner at The Eatery and were blown away by the superb views, exemplary service and delicious food & drink options. Special thanks to Leon, whose attentive and friendly service was truly outstanding! He’s a great dancer, too :) Since we enjoyed the experience so much, we also booked a sunrise cruise on our last day. Because we were the only people who had signed up, we were treated to a private cruise. The continental breakfast was excellent: yogurt parfait, ostrich carpaccio, fruit kebabs… But most of all, we were impressed by the staff: Captain Yolanda and our waitress Precious who went out of their way to make sure that we had the best experience possible. We were lucky enough to see hippos, crocodiles and so many beautiful birds, not too mention the stunning sunrise!
We did the dinner sunset cruise yesterday & it was a lovely experience. The food was delicious & the service outstanding. All food & drinks are included in the price. It's a lovely trip to do when in Victoria falls. We were lucky enough to see the hippos too. Thank you to all the staff you are amazing & your singing at the end was beautiful.
Fantastic experience and amazing night. Staff were brilliant and we enjoyed the drinks and the food. The only thing I would change would be the time we had at the Eatery after the cruise. It was too short to enjoy the excellent meal and we felt hurried to finish on time to leave. Otherwise heartily recommended to everyone.
Service was brilliant from beginning to end. Lots of food and drinks provided so come hungry and thirsty
An absolutely lovely experience, gorgeous vistas, animal sights, and amazingly friendly staff! Would highly recommend this tour to anyone!
Beautiful luxury boat with great wine and food onboard. Tranquil sail down the Zambezi seeing much wildlife as we sailed by. Comfortable clean sofas and chairs and friendly staff make you very welcome. Meal after just by where the ship docks which was a nice touch but a little to dark to see what was on your plate. Maybe a few more candles/lanterns with citronella would do the trick.
The afternoon was absolutely pleasant and relaxing. We were lucky to see many hippos and zebras along the river, which made the cruise even more special. The food was really good and the staff were friendly, welcoming and always helpful. The eatery dinner was amazing. The food was truly first-class and beautifully prepared. The people of Zimbabwe are incredibly warm and hospitable, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. This is definitely an activity not to be missed
Relaxing experience, attentive staff, good cocktails, and the ostrich fillet and panna cotta was great. Would recommend!
This was an amazing experience, one of my most memorable in Afica. It was so nice to relax on the river. I highly recommend this combined with the restaurant on the bank. The ostrich steak was amazing!
If you are in Vic Falls, this is a must. If you are with your wife, make it a dinner cruise! The sunset is absolutely beautiful! Lots of animal sightings. The appetizers and drinks are good quality as well!
We had a very nice cruise with a very delicious dinner in the Eatery. Good service on the boat and in the restaurant. We like the sunset and the wild animals.
From start to finish this is hands down the best operator! pure Africa have a wonderful boat and we took advantage of the signature deck. It was incredible and the food was all just so beautiful x warm freindly welcoming team. We saw other boats but we felt like royalty!!!!! We wanted for nothing and nature dazzled us with the Zambezi beauty
One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. I paid for full service (577 USD) and was met with blatant unfair treatment. It was crystal clear that certain patrons were prioritized while the rest of us were brushed aside. That kind of segregation in service is unacceptable anywhere, let alone from a business that claims to provide “quality.”The management’s response made it even worse. They saw the situation, chose to do nothing, and made no effort to make things right. Instead, they carried on boasting about their supposed standards. The arrogance was unbelievable, especially when the reality was such poor service.I walked away feeling disrespected, cheated, and furious. If you expect fairness, professionalism, or even the basic decency of getting what you paid for, look elsewhere. This establishment failed on every level.
It was fantastic. Excellent food and it also included alcohol drinks . The site seeing was good , unfortunately we didn’t see any elephants, but you can’t make animals appear when you want them.
Awesome experience. Very well organized. Food was great. Staff was very friendly and engaging. We saw some hippos, elephants and giraffes. Loved it!
The Cruise was OK, but when we went for dinner there was 8 people including us we were given a lovely table and the menu. We ordered salad for my wife I was told no salad I ordered chicken for the main meal and was told no chicken, and when we ordered apple pie for desert we where told no apple pie. My Wife and I ordered otere items that we didn't want to eat. Considering that there was only 8 people for dinner they could have done better.
The sunset cruise along the Zambezi was amazing. Beautiful scenery and excellent service. The food at the Eatery was average and there were A LOT of insects which took away from the experience, but to be expected when along the river in Africa. Still would highly recommend this experience
We booked "The Eatery Pot & Cruise (Luxury Deck)" and it did not disappoint. The boat was luxurious and the cruise went all too quickly, thoroughly enjoyable. Since all drinks are included on the boat we made sure we and enough "sundowners" then and just ordered the 1 drink to go with our meal at the eatery (since those drinks were not included). The "canapes" on the boat were delicious and plentiful - if not too much so. The potje dinner at the eatery was delicious however far too much to have 1 each and the number and size of the sides was excessive- we are a family of 4 including 16 and 18 year old boys and 2 potje between us would have been plenty. I certainly appreciate being well catered for however I do not appreciate wastage and this amount was beyond acceptable. The flavours were absolutely yum but the sheer amount was offputting to the appetite.
The views were amazing, saw hippos from a very close range. The 2 hour long cruise was relaxing and worth every penny, from the service to the snacks and drinks.
The cruise on the top deck was superb. Drinks and a large quantity of very nice canapes were included. Very relaxing few hours and a beautiful river sunset. A word of warning. We had so much food on the boat we really couldn't enjoy the dinner. We sampled the Springbok and ostrich offerings and they were superb. Nothing wrong with the food - it's just there was too much. I strongly recommend to do the cruise but not dinner unless you have a huge appetite.
Absolutely amazing experience! We saw so many animals on the cruise, and the service was impeccable. The dinner was amazing as well, delicious and the staff was so friendly and helpful. Thank you so much for such a special and memorable experience.
Amazing experience on the river cruise lots of wildlife and beautiful scenery drinks staff and all were great
The cruise was on a very comfortable and beautiful furnished boat. Friendly staff and well assorted drinks. The dinner at the eatery was excellent and the whole place is just amazing.
The signature deck was an incredible experience. The service was great and so was the boat. The staff are very well organized. Over a beautiful sunset cruise.
Absolutely amazing. Had the best time; the drinks and food were up to par and the views were immaculate. Would go over and over again.
Dinner was delicious and a very nice experience. The cruise was interesting but a little bit long and we ended up not seeing the sunset. We were alocated at a high table because the nice seats were all booked up, so be aware that this might happen.
We chose the signature deck which was beautiful. Yum food, a wide choice of drinks and the friendliest staff. Thanks Mandla and his team! Loved this cruise. Dinner was delicious and they fetched us and dropped us at the hotel. Total win
We had an 3 hour evening dinner cruise and by the main course it was absolutely dark and you couldn't see anything. The food was ok and the drinks was included. A special thanks from me and my wife, to Heather C. for an excellent service and so well taking care of us. Considering the view, a lunch cruise might be better
Everything was perfect. The information for pick-up is given 2 days before so no surprise. The transport was perfect. As for the service for the top-top deck, it was remarkable: welcoming staff, extra aperitif buffet, delicious cocktails and then the meal at the Eatery restaurant was very good, quality and with research in the presentation. However, do not choose this activity to see animals,
