We enjoyed the sunset cruise with Khanondo Tours & Safaris. The drinks provided were great, although the food was subpar. The two guides/boat operators were engaging and lively! We were surprised to be approached before boarding by a group of teens in traditional dress, dancing and playing music. We did not know if this was part of the experience. We had difficulty communicating with the tour operator regarding pick-up/drop-off. We attempted to finalize an arrival time at the pick-up spot in advance but had difficulty obtaining a specific time from them until the last minute, which made it difficult for us to arrive on time. We were traveling from Livingstone, Zambia, and we would not recommend booking with this operator unless you are staying in Zimbabwe.

The Zambezi Sunset cruise is a superb way to relax and enjoy the spectacular beauty of the Zambezi River. There are great photo opportunities against often-spectacular African sunsets. Flocks of birds skim the waterline as the sun sets behind the African skyline. Clients may have the opportunity to see a variety of game; including hippo, crocodile, and elephant as well as enjoy the many different bird species. The Sunset Cruise is very popular and includes finger snacks, beer, wine, local spirits and soft drinks.

The cruise was great. We were fortunate to spot Crocs on the banks of the Zambezi River, three elephants crossing the river, a family of Hippos, birds and even spotted a warthog from the boat. Above all the sunset was fabulous
While staying at 'The Palm River' hotel located on the banks of the Zambezi River, we took a 2 hour long sunset Ra-ikane River Cruise from the jetty located right in front of the hotel. It was actually a luxury boat safari on the Zambezi River offering the opportunity of sighting hippos, crocodiles and sometimes even the elephants along with diverse birdlife. Though we have found whale watching at innumerable places including Maui (Hawaii), Ilulissat (Greenland) etc. and have thoroughly enjoyed it in several countries and oceans but watching hippos walking, swimming, playing and having fun in the Zambezi River and that too in such large numbers was a unique African experience. It was an outstanding and a not to be missed activity as you will not be finding a better hippo-watching opportunity anywhere and that too from so close.
Company offered pick up at airport. On place they want extra money in cash for it. Theay erote it 24 hours before.
There was a bit of confusion with the allotted tour operator on picking us up at the hotel. Fortunately we did manage to sort the problem out. The cruise boat Amazing Grace had already begun their cruise but kindly came back for us. Once on the cruise it was amazing...so pleased that my daughter and I got to experience this incredible tour. If in Victoria Falls a must to do.
Sunset on the great Zambezi ... the experience of a lifetime. Crocodiles, birds, baboons, and hippos. Must visit in springtime (Nov) to see all the baby animals.
Lovely experience and very well paid out and organised. The hosts on the boat were very good and funny and made us laugh as well as being gracious hosts. The ride itself was perfect, great wildlife to see and the sunset was stunning.
The staff was exceedingly professional and gracious. We were able to see crocodiles, hippos and birds. The staff was the best part of the trip.
Amazing experience. We were a family of 5 with 3 children. We had an entire boat for ourselves. Great explanations and driving from our pilot. Stunning beverages and snacks during the cruise. We saw crocodiles, hippos, elephants, monkeys, a giraffe and a lot of birds. Incredible!!
The best! We had a timing miscommunication, but the company went above and beyond to help. The cruise was fantastic! We saw hippos, crocodiles and elephants. Wonderful sunset on the river! They had a nice snack and drinks for us as well!
Absolutely beautiful experience!!! Would highly recommend. The captain was very friendly and attentive, and talked to us the whole journey, even better he stopped many times for us to have a nice view of the animals. The meal provided was delicious too and there was a wide drink variety with unlimited refills included. Everything was just wonderful including the affordable price and such a delightful day with good pictures and staff. Most definitely would book again !!
Beautiful relaxing cruise. The crew was great! Very attentive. They tried to point out the animals for us. The snacks were nice and the drinks were flowing.
The welcome song and dance was fun followed by a perfect sunset with great staff offering drinks and canapés. Some wildlife was seen - Mother Nature is the queen. Great experience on the Zambezi river.
Absolutely stunning scenery and wildlife (elephant and hippo). Wonderfully friendly and attentive staff. Would recommend.
Amazing view, best views of the 7 wonders in the world,Planet earth always seems to amaze .......definitely coming back.
We started the tour in a tremendous thunderstorm, but by the end the sun was peeking through. Guide gave some information on wildlife and location, but I would have preferred more on a trip billed as wildlife watching. Snacks were adequate and tasty, chicken, samosas etc. As much beer as we wanted was available. ,
Excellent from start to finish - pickup, wildlife sunset. Close up to crocs, elephants, hippos & incredible sunset. Captain of boat got us to the main action first. 10 out of 10
The sunset cruise was a lovely wrap up to the VicFalls visit, made the experience more serene and enjoyed another part of the river itself. Spotted hippos and some crocodiles. The snacks were sufficient and drinks too. Have option for non-alcoholic beverages aside from sodas.
Getting older one starts creating a bucket list for the remaining years to come. Victoria Falls was one of them.It was Prince Tee of Kanondo tours who really enlighted our 5 day visit. From transport to water falls, from sunset cruise to Cheeta experience and not to forget a short helicopter ride. It was all amazing. Thank you Prince.
This was a perfect trip on the Zambezi. It wasn't too long, the tour operator took great care of you with snacks, drinks and good information about the river. We were lucky to have their small river cruise boat to ourselves which worked out perfectly. It also meant that we had a personal touch from our boat captain and hostess on board. I couldn't fault this excursion. It wasn't too long (2 to 2.5 hrs onboard), you had drinks included (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and some small snacks available. The scenery was relaxing and a bonus with hippo's, crocodiles and a few birds to add to the enjoyment. The real hero though was the sunset.
We were the only ones on the cruise and it was a good evening. The skipper navigated the small boat very well and was knowledgeable and friendly. The appetizers were a little on the dry side. My only complaint was the late arrival for pick up at the hotel as well as we felt the cruise was cut short with half an hour.
What an awesome cruise we even viewed some game on the banks coming to drink water. Our captain Oscar and team really gave us a lovely evening cruise with light meals and lots of drinks throughout the cruise.
The sunset trip was excellent and the wildlife was stunning , over 30 elephants down to the waters edge , plenty of hippo and we saw crocodile, two large ones basking on the river bank , bee eaters and baboons were other things we saw . Our boat was tiny and nothing like the boats in the pictures . The driver was nice and helpful regarding the nature and knew where to take us , he saw everything quickly and got us there quickly , I counted 16 other boats all larger then the one We were in and all trying to get to the same areas at the same time , so the river was busy , but the wildlife was stunning and worth it . The food was only meat eater choice and we were vegetarian and I asked for Coke Zero but they didn’t have it so I ended up drinking my own water so I have no clue how the food was
To gently cruise down le Zambezi river at sunset is a wonderful experience. There is lots of wildlife to see, especially elephants drinking in the evening and birds as well. They serve drinks and snacks and it’s all very pleasant
What a great experience from start to finish. Very professional outfit and we were lucky to have a small boat to ourselves for the cruise. There is some benefit with the smaller vessels as they are able to get into places the large cruisers can't. Saw loads of wildlife including elephants and hippos and many different types of birds. Crew were knowledgeable and friendly. Drinks and snacks all included as well. Would recommend Khanondo if you are thinking of doing this activity. Also many thanks to the young man in the office who helped me relocate my wallet after I had dropped it in a shop nearby !
This was booked via our hotel, we were picked up at 4pm. We were advised that a group that had booked had cancelled so it was just the two of us so we were going to use a smaller boat instead. We felt like a king and queen watching other bigger boats with groups of people while we soaked up our personalised service. One of the main advantages of a smaller boat was that we could go closer to the river bank to view wildlife. We had a bottle of wine and our glasses were filled at our request. They also provided nibbles. Cruising the mighty Zambezi is a magical experience. The guides Mpho and Phikisani were very experienced and outlined the history of the Zambezi and also informed us of the lives and nature of the animals as we saw them. We were fortunate enough to see a school of hippos on a few occasions. We also saw numerous birds, crocodiles and an elephant. We finished off the cruise by stopping in the middle of the river to view the sunset. The tour guide had predicted that the sun was due to set at 18.03 and it did. I must say the African sunset over the water is truly spectacular. We had a great time and would give it a 5 out of 5.
Really enjoyable tour overall. I chose this option as it is by far the best value for money as I didn’t want to waste money on dinner…then was pleasantly surprised that we got a great variety of snacks anyways. We saw hippos, crocodiles, an eagle and a wonderful sunset. I really felt embarrassed by the other tourists who were complaining about there not being enough Coca-Cola … there were plenty of great drinks to choose from but I guess some tourists love to complain…the only small suggestion I would make would be to not end the cruise right after sunset…once the sun is gone is when the sky turns this amazing crimson shade…I really would have loved to see this from the boat rather than the car on the drive home and would have happily paid a bit more for the experience. But overall I highly recommend the company.
Wonderful experience and unlimited drinks loved every minute of but regret the hangover after, brilliant service from the staff and great atmosphere all round
The fact that it was just us and the crew was really personal. Loved the snacks served. We had our own music selection....
One of the best experiences I've had so far. The tour guard 'Prince' was very knowledgeable and made it fun for the kids. I would definitely recommend.
We booked some trips through VictoriaFallsguide.net and they in turn facilitated the various bookings with the different providers, who of which were with Khanondo Safaris: the Sunset DINNER Cruise and a Walk With The Elephants. What friendly staff, super professional, really well done! Will most certainly book with these guys again when next in Victoria Falls. Anyone considering booking a tour through them can rest assured, their service and attention to detail is impeccable! Well worth it.
I had an opportunity to tour Victoria falls. My package included accomodation at the Victoria falls Deluxe Suite, safari tour at Chobe river and Zambezi river boat cruise. The booking and tour was all handled professionally and courteously by their marketing manager Simon Munengwa. I can say Khonondo has the best boats. The staff are really nice people. Had the best trip for my birthday, it was Solo but not lonely. I would recommend Khanondo Safari.
It was a lovely time to cruise the Zambezi River while cooling off. It was nice to spend Magic Hour drinking beer.
