Wonderful experience. Great communication with the owner, Lisa. The horses are in beautiful condition, obviously extremely well cared for and loved. The ride out was super, taken at a nice , relaxed pace through local countryside. Highly, highly recommend to riders of any experience…although, don’t over exaggerate your experience, the owner told me that people OFTEN claim to be experienced when they are barely beyond beginner level. Lisa’s horses are all very well behaved and can cope with any level of rider - just be honest with your skill level.

Itinerary
Ride into the real Zimbabwe—far beyond the crowds of Victoria Falls. This small-group horseback village experience is not a safari and not a typical trail ride. It’s a rare chance to explore rural life from the saddle, following village paths through open fields, farmland, and working communities where daily life unfolds around you. After an early pick-up, you’ll arrive at Banko Farm for a warm welcome, a short safety briefing, and to meet your calm, well-cared-for horse. We ride with a welfare-first, ethical approach (including bitless horses), and we keep groups small (max 4 guests) so the pace stays relaxed and confidence-friendly. You’ll spend about 1–1.5 hours riding, with time built in for authentic cultural moments, beautiful scenery, and light refreshments before your transfer back to Victoria Falls. If you want an experience that feels personal, meaningful, and genuinely connected to place—this is it. Morning Rural Community Horse Ride - Shared departure: Mini 1 guest Private departure: Mini 3 guests Afternoon Rural Community Horse Ride Private/Shared - Minimum 3 guests Extended Rural Community Horse Ride Minimum 2 guests Morning departures only.

A lovely way to spend my first morning . Picked up promptly at the hotel . Horses were excellently cared for , and responsive to ride whilst ridden on a loose rein in a rope halter. The guides were great , and it was lovely to ride through the village area and see the area outside the Falls, which would generally not be a tourist area. It gave me a perspective on what life is like for local people outside the town .
This week i was given the wonderful opportunity to ride out with Lisa and her team at Wild Bhiza , paired up with a beautiful horse Rollo. We set off early for the leisurely walk meandering along the trails between the homes and homestead of the locals . Senior explained about all the flora and fauna along the way. Which bark or root from a specific tree was used in medicine, which fruit was tasty and a few samples were found along the way, monkeys finger , blue butter and the marula. Friendly residents and children called out and waved and curious cattle looked on as we passed. Lisa spoke about the social and economical state of the community and their work too. The setting was breathtaking, the people so lovely and the ride itself was great. I left feeling privileged to have been there , if you get the opportunity, take it , you won't be disappointed. If I get the opportunity i shall return definitely. Many thanks to all . Ben
If you’re looking for something truly unforgettable in Zimbabwe, I can’t recommend Wild Bhiza highly enough. As first-time visitors to Victoria Falls, we weren’t quite sure what to expect and had quite limited time. We were a little wary of being swept into overly touristy activities that could end up feeling less than authentic. Also with a group of mixed riding abilities, we weren’t certain that everyone would feel comfortable or fully enjoy the experience. To anyone with similar concerns, I would strongly encourage you to prioritise a ride with Wild Bhiza! From start to finish, the experience felt personal, genuine, and immersive. We were completely absorbed in the landscape and given a unique perspective on the flora, fauna, and local community. It felt as though the curtain had been lifted, offering us a rare and authentic glimpse of Africa. It was much more than just a ride - it was an experience that has left a lasting impression on all of us. The horses were clearly beautifully cared for, well-suited to a range of abilities, responsive, and evidently much loved. This meant our ride felt both safe and exhilarating, tailored to each individual rider. Whether experienced, out of practice, or new to riding, the small scale and personal nature of the experience means it can be tailored to suit you or your group as much as possible. What truly sets Wild Bhiza apart, however, is Lisa and her team. Warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate, they went above and beyond to ensure the experience felt genuine and personal. An absolute must-do if you’re visiting. We are already dreaming of coming back!
An early morning pick up at Kabakwe Lodge and I was on my way to spend time in seeing the country on horseback. Getting there took approximately 40 minutes from where I was staying and even that, without the ride, was a different experience for me. I was lucky enough to be taken out for my tour by the owner, Lisa and her guide Steve, both of whom took good care of me reminding me at time to 'duck' when I wasn't paying close enough attention to the occasional low hanging branch on the trail. Being on horseback is such a great way to experience the countryside seeing more of our natural world and getting an idea of how the rural people live. Lisa is a very experienced horsewoman and my lovely horse Nova had me pegged from the get go, frequently indulging in some of the tasty morsels we passed on our way. I would highly recommend this to anyone who feels comfortable on horseback and would like to see more than the regular Victoria Falls tours that may be closer. Thanks so much for a wonderful morning Lisa and Steve.
Thank you very much for the perfect riding experience. Everything was wonderfully organised. Lisa and her staff were incredibly friendly and explained everything in detail. You can tell that they love the horses and their job. I highly recommend this riding stable!
Beautiful morning ride through the villages and countryside around Victoria Falls. First class horses, lovely guides and well organised start to finish.
Picked up from my hotel shortly after 6am. Definitely the right time of day to ride. Lisa was friendly, hugely informative and loves her animals. Horses were in super condition with friendly temperaments. The ride itself couldn't have been better. A really interesting insight into the lives of local people, their animals and environment with curious cattle, donkeys and goats approaching us. We were approached several times by locals who wanted to discuss animals with Lisa and it was obvious that she was held in high regard by her community. Whilst we enjoyed long trots and several canters I have no qualms in recommending riding with Wild Bhiza Stables to experienced and novice riders alike. This will forever remain one of my favorite riding adventures. Thanks Lisa!
Absolutely incredible, so informative and Lisa was just fantastic, highly recommend taking a village tour with Lisa and the team at Wild Bhiza, We will be back when we return again for sure! Thanks again!
From the very first moment, everything was perfect. I was picked up directly from my hotel, and during the drive to Chisuma, I was given fascinating insights into local life and the surrounding villages. Once there, I met the most adorable horses — calm, gentle, and extremely well cared for. They are perfectly suited for all riding levels. The ride is done in small groups (a maximum of four riders), which makes the experience intimate and enjoyable. For 2.5 hours, we rode through plantations and wandered through the typical village of Chisuma in total immersion — something that would be impossible to experience by car. Far from the touristy bustle of Victoria Falls, this outing gives you a true feeling of Zimbabwean rural life, in all its gentleness. Safety is clearly a top priority for the team — everything is thought through so that everyone feels comfortable and confident. And the welcome… what can I say — the owner is incredibly kind, attentive, and warm-hearted. The morning ended with a delicious local breakfast, enjoyed in the golden light of sunrise before heading back. A heartfelt thank you for this timeless moment. If you’re looking for something genuine, human, and deeply moving, don’t miss Wild Bhiza Stables. A rare gem.
Just returned from our riding tour. We are still overwhelmed from this amazing experience!! It was such a warm welcome and we felt safe and secure the whole time. Lisa and Amy and the entire staff made made this adventure unforgettable for us! Our tour went through the communities around the stables. We immersed ourselves into nature and local surroundings. A little break in between with snacks and drinks at the gorge with a stunning view made the morning just more perfect! All the animals at the farm are treated well and Amy and Lisa having a heart of gold! Thank you for this wonderful morning and keep your wonderful work going! Sabine (Mom😉) and Philipp
What a lovely way to spend the morning. A really nice way to see the local way of life in the villages. Lisa and Amie were super friendly and answered all our questions about life in Zimbabwe. The horses were so well treated and we all felt safe (me, my wife and son 8 years old). I would highly recommend this as an activity for anyone visiting.

The best way to experience rural communities and farmlands in Africa. I have been riding at Wild Bhiza stables since June 2024, I used to come here on my off days as I worked at a hotel in town. The stables are well kept and in such a serene, peaceful location. The horses (all farm animals on the property actually) are so loved and very well taken care of. The staff are kind and attentive. Lisa, her gentle horses and her supportive staff helped me gain my confidence back after a fall I had a few years ago. I loved my time here so much that I quit my hotel job and now I get to work with and ride horses everyday!
The fascinating, charming and engaging Lisa collected me at dawn from my downtown Vic Falls hotel, and drove 30 mins into the bush. I enjoyed an absolutely beautiful morning ride out with her and her experienced groom, and into the Bush, amongst the various vibrant rural communities as they all came to life as the day dawned. A brilliant experience, and one that made my visit to Vic Falls very special.
I absolutely loved it and really liked Matches, she was such a sweet horse. It was a very special experience and am looking forward to riding with you again when I’m next back in the Falls.
Wild Bhiza Stables have got a fantastic setup just outside of town. This is a really great activity to do, offering the opportunity to interact with the communities surrounding Victoria Falls whilst riding some really lovely ponies!
I’ve been riding with Lisa for a few years and her horses are amazing. As well as the riding I love playing with all the other animals at the stables including goats, chickens, ducks and horses. I would highly recommend this experience. Lexi Age 10
This was a perfect way to top off a relaxing trip in Vic Falls. This isn't a safari ride, but it IS a wonderful glimpse into life outside of the town. You ride through the bush and farmlands in an authentic Zimbabwean experience-- complete with donkeys, goats, chickens, and stunning birdsong. Lisa and her team are kind, knowledgeable, and friendly. They genuinely care about people and horses, and safety is a priority. Riding out, you know you are in good hands (and hooves). I loved it so much I went back again before I had to fly home, and it will definitely be on my list of "to-dos" when I visit Victoria Falls again!
If you are a horse lover and would like to see a side to Zimbabwe that isn't the normal hustle and bustle of Victoria Falls town, then go for a ride with Wild Bhiza Stables. This is a unique cultural experience where you ride through the rural villages and get a glimpse into what life is like for the average person. It is an authentic insight into the Zimbabwean rural culture. You won't see wild animals (it isn't a safari ride) but you will see plenty of goats, donkeys, cows and chickens! Lisa and her team are friendly and engaging hosts and they take the safety of their guests and horses seriously. The horses are in excellent condition and well trained in natural horsemanship - no bit bridles are used. Riding through the African bush is a beautiful and peaceful experience, and for a couple of hours you forget what modern life is like. I would highly recommend getting up early to go for a ride!
Had the most amazing morning riding with Lisa through the villages and bush. I had not ridden in many years but with her guidance and her lovely horses, I felt confident and comfortable and enjoyed myself thoroughly. I would definitely do it again and recommend it to anyone visiting Victoria Falls!!
The most magical experience, the horse were beautiful and are treated with so much love. Could not recommend this adventure more, will definitely be back again soon!
Very warm, very helpful, help the depths in the surroundings of the villages..to finish with tea coffee and cake...for our children it was the real thing!! Thank you Lisa and Steve (Engel)
