Helicopter Flight 12/13 Minute (Zimbabwe)

Great views of the Falls! Nice contrast to the views from the cliffs.

Arranged a Flight in the Morning the day prior with our agent here. they tried to charge us 350$ for some transports that normally cost 50$ so we had to get a new quota with our own transports and suddenly our slot was full. They didn‘t have a free slot for us and we had to wait infront of their office for 1:30h. Then we were ready to bring the two who didn‘t want to go on the flight but wanted a small discount for it - no chance. We were sent away. We then did the rhino walk with them which was very expensive 110$ instead of 65$ with other tour guides. Now we are still waiting for the rhino walk to start (another 1h when there is just 12h of daylight a day.) The rhino walk itself i cannot rate yet - might be good.

It was amazing, the pilot flew us over and over the falls about 5 times from every angle and our pics were like they were out of a magazine even the ones with just our cell phones. It was very different to actually going to to the falls. Coming off the helicopter my heart was racing but with pure excitement as this experience was an absolute thrill.

TripAdvisor and Wild Horizon have Very poor communication. I booked 8am flights and WH had us at 10:45! Plus a group that showed up with a guide LAST MINUTE got to go before us. All this interfered with our other activities. The flight was great.

The helicopter ride over the falls is an amazing way to see the falls, and 12-13 minutes is more than enough time to take it all in. The staff is friendly and professional; the flight organization is a well-oiled machine!

Firstly the confirmation mail took forever and we re-booked, eager to get a space as it was our day of departure. The morning of the activity both mails had been received and the tickets were visible on Viator with Wild Horizons being the service provider. We waited in the lobby at the given time as indicated on the tickets for pick-up, but no one showed up to collect us. The receptionist at Shearwater as well as the gentleman who work for the Shearwater adventure centre, called Wild Horizons a number of times on our behalf, but they claimed they did not received our booking. We were never collected from our hotel for the activity, yet the payment of $450 was accepted and processed. These are thieves taking your money. Whether Viator or Wild Horizons I cannot say, but they do not come recommended.

Nice ride around the majestic Victoria Falls

Helicopter ride experience itself was 10/10 and absolutely worth doing. The views were incredible and it’s definitely a must-do while in Zimbabwe. Unfortunately, the communication from this company was almost nonexistent. They never replied through Viator (except later to ask for a good review), and the phone number provided wasn’t working. I had to search online for different numbers until someone finally answered, only to tell me they had already changed our tour time. The flight was amazing, but the customer service was disappointing and stressful. There are many companies offering the same experience, so I’d recommend choosing one that actually respects your time and communicates properly.

Absolutely amazing - a different perspective on the Falls and the surrounding geology. The staff are friendly, professional, efficient and have "Top Gun" levels of cool. The briefing was comprehensive and the pilot was amazing ensuring we felt confident and safe throughout. The actual flight was mind blowing, when we go back we will definitely do this again and book the longer flight - definitely worth the money. The choppers are fairly large so there were five of us on the flight but the trip is designed so that everyone gets excellent views of the falls.

This was really a great experience. It was my first experience in a helicopter and loved it. Well worth the price and our pilot was fun.

We did the helicopter and zip lines! Both were wonderful. We did the walking tour of the falls first, then the helicopter, then Zipline. Complete package to see the falls in all directions! Best to see before dry season when 1/2 of the falls lose their water.

I booked this flight for me and my wife with Viata. Viata informed me that Wild Horizon will conduct this flight. However, eventhough we were in Victoria falls Elephant Hills Hotel Wild Horizon did not contact us for this flight. When I phoned them previous day they said that there was no booking for us. Then I got my Cosmos tour manager in Victoria Falls who was an employee of Wild Horoszon to find out this booking, but he also could not find. I could not contact Viata office in USA as my phone did not allow me to call as my phone was on roaming. Then I had to ask my daughter in Australia to contact Viata and check about this booking. Then Viata had confirmed that there is a booking. With this information I again contacted Wild Horizon and found the booking. There was some miscommunication between Viata and Wild Horison. I had to spend about half a day to sort out this booking. I had a very stressful time until I could sort out this. I am very unhappy for this stressful saga

The Helicopter flight was fun and well done. However, Wild Horizons acted unethically and mistreated us. We used Wild Horizons to pick us up at the airport to take us to our lodging. Upon pickup, the driver asked if we were interested in a Helicopter flight over the falls. We answered "yes". The driver said we could stop by the Wild Horizons office to buy tickets. We said that was not necessary, and the driver replied that it was on the way to the lodge anyway. (It was not "on the way".) I thought this might be a way to get us to purchase tickets without having a chance to compare prices. I was right. At the Wild Horizon office, I specifically asked the sales person if Wild Horizons offered the best price for the Helicopter flight (12-13 minutes). He replied "yes", so we purchased two tickets. Later, we discovered the same 12-13 minute helicopter tour on Viator for $14.15 per person less, including taxes, park fees, and fuel surcharge. We returned to the Wild Horizon office and asked for a $28 refund as the Wild Horizon representative had not been truthful at the time we bought the tickets. The Wild Horizon salesperson denied he had told us that Wild Horizon had the lowest price. Then, he and another Wild Horizon employee started yelling at us and telling us they do not match prices. I explained that we would not have purchased the tickets if the salesperson had told us the truth originally. The Wild Horizon representatives continued to yell at us, deny what we had been told, and act unprofessionally. Not wanting further verbal abuse, we left the office. This behavior was inappropriate. Customers should never be subject to verbal abuse, even if Wild Horizons was not going to meet our request for a refund due to their salesperson's misinformation.

Took a 13 minute flight. Pick up from our hotel. Everything was explained very clearly. Video/photograph package available. Flight is incredible and you see the river, falls and gorge. Gives a real insight as to the geography which is not so apparent from the land. Staff are all very friendly would thoroughly recommend.

Dishonest service - never again I had booked 4 activities (helicopter and others) totaling 407 USD all at once with them and we agreed that as a discount I would get the airport transfer (to go and back, value 26 USD) and pay 400 instead of 407 USD. So all in all a discount of 33 USD, which is not great but was fine with me. The activities were all good (and expensive, but this is Victoria falls so no complaint there). However, when it came to get back to the airport they suddenly ‘forgot’ about the promised free return. It’s not about the 13 USD but when you make a deal you keep your promise. This is just normal good business behavior. I travel to Southern Africa often but Wild Horizon will not get my money anymore. There are plenty of alternatives - Not recommended.

Short and Expensive, but totally worth the bird’s eye view of the amazing confluence of nature that creates the view of the Falls you see on the ground

Helicopter ride over Victoria Falls was the perfect way to end our viewing of the falls. We did two figure 8's over the falls but didn't see any wildlife on our way back to the landing pad.

For less than €140 per person all-inclusive, I find that it is a good value for money. They are very professional. There is one thing I do not understand; I went directly through Viator, and I am told that it is Wild Horizon that is the provider. However, I have never had contact with them, even when I asked them to call me back or to contact me through Viator. Upon arriving at the heliport site, it is Zambezi Helicopters that operates the flights. In short, go directly to them to book; there will be no intermediary.

In addition to the helicopter flight, also made a dinner cruise, a Chobe full day trip, Bomadinner, Canopytour, and much more besides our stay at the Old Drift Lodge and the Elephant Camp through the agency. Everything was super planned and worked absolutely smoothly. Wild Horizons is by far the best agency for the stay and activities, thank you Wilma for our dream holiday.

This Enterprise organizes a very large number of activities as well as transfers. Very present in the sector, we found them very serious.
