We had an incredible time rafting the Zambezi with ShockWaves! I highly recommend. I was nervous about taking my 10 year old on the river, but I felt completely safe being in the hands of our guides. Lots of fun!

Itinerary
Take your family rafting down the Zambezi, spend a day in an incredible river with your kids. Paddle a distance of between 16-23km depending on the water levels & enjoy a barbecue lunch on top of the Batoka Gorge. Scull through a series of Class 1-4 rapids with our experienced guides steering you through the onerous rapids of the Zambezi reckoned as a premier river for whitewater rafting. You will not only relish the adrenaline pumping thrill of this activity but you will also marvel at the stark, sheer beauty and tranquility of the amazing Batoka Gorge. We run family trips on a STERN MOUNT RAFT with a frame and 2 big wooden oars to give a guide full control of the raft. Guests have an option of paddling through some rapids or just enjoy holding on the rope. For kids we have special handle straps made in USA whereby kids sit in the middle & hold on but they can try paddling small rapids. Most rapids on this river are run on 2-3 different options. Clients may choose an option but the guide`s decision is final especially if we have little kids. e.g if a rapid on the left is a level 2, on the center a level 3 & on the right level 4, the guide will choose the option for a best run.

Terrence, Liberty, Mr. Nice Guy and the rest of the team were amazing, top notch! They explained everything we needed to know to make our rafting experience unforgettable! They helped me down into the gorge and back up again, what a climb! We were well taken care of the whole time and the picnic lunch was delicious! The pictures and video of our day was fantastic and was sent through very quickly. Definitely recommend river rafting with this team.
We were a family of 4 including a 12 year old and did the half stretch rapids experience. We were picked up at 7:45am and after some initial admin and payment of the national park fees we headed to the entry point to the gorge. We were a group of 15 split into 2 rafts. Safety is a big deal for them - apart from the safety briefing they had 1 captain for each raft plus 3 additional guides on kayaks scoping out the rapids and there in case of any issues. The trip itself was amazing - beautiful scenery and plenty of thrills on the rapids. There are 15 rapids along the route of the half stretch from rapid 11 to 24. The hike in and out of the gorge are the most strenuous parts of the whole trip - especially the hike out of the gorge - the guides were there to help out and ensure everybody was well looked after. When we finally made it out of the gorge we had a nice barbecue lunch waiting for us and then were back in Victoria falls by around 3pm Overall I was really impressed by Shockwaves for all the organisation and the team that looked after us. Very professional, friendly and fun. They clearly love what they do. Highly tecommend this tour / one of the highlights of our victoria falls stay
A big adventure! Best for folks who are not afraid of water, and moderate fitness level. I would not recommend for children who are not thrill seekers. The safety team was extremely thorough and professional - our wellbeing was the clear priority. Big rapids!
Excellent excursion and definitely my personal favourite activity at Vic falls! Our family of four went on the half day family trip as the water was quite high! Our guide was amazing and we never felt unsafe. I was aware that we will be climbing down a gorge at the start and again climb (very steep) at the end. I am not good with heights but our guide, OG helped me to the top! Thank you so much for everything!
Experience of a lifetime rafting the Zambezi and soaking up the incredible scenery! Tambu and his amazing team made this one of our best memories of Victoria Falls. Very professional, friendly and funny. An exhilarating and exciting time whilst also feeling safe and very well looked after the whole way through. Very impressed with the experienced and personable crew, as well as the photography and videos we got. Would not go anywhere else, and highly recommend. Thanks so very much guys!
This was excellent! We went as a family of 5 including our 14 year old. We went at low water level so did all 21 rapids over a full day. As an extra we swam under the Falls themselves at the start - this was other worldly and sensational. A tricky scramble across wet rocks and then hammered in the plunge pool whilst looking directly up at the falls. The rapids themselves are sensational. Just magical. It’s a tough walk down/ up the gorge to get there and hard work but simply great fun. As a company they were excellent. Collected us from our hotel and managed us through. Safety was good and the most important person our pilot was excellent - safe, big boat and guided us through. Great with teenagers too. Not top end glam on t shirts, food and equipment but all good. We would definitely do this with them again
We had a fantastic full day rafting trip with the Shockwave crew. They are very experienced, know the river very well and we felt we were in very capable hands throughout. They are also a great group of guys and a lot of fun. Would highly recommend them.
We had an unforgettable day white water rafting on the Zambezi River with our family (kids 15, 14, 10), and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Shockwave was outstanding—professional, well organised, and extremely safety-conscious. They were particularly amazing with our kids, making sure they felt comfortable and included throughout the entire adventure. The guides were not only skilled and knowledgeable about the river but also fun and engaging, which made the trip both thrilling and fun for everyone. Myself and two of the kids even fell off the raft at one point, and surprisingly, that ended up being their favorite part of the whole trip! The guides handled it so well, keeping everything fun and safe, turning it into a memorable moment we’ll be talking about for years! This is without a doubt the kids favourite activity in Victoria Falls and Shockwave were outstanding. I highly recommend.
Communication from the start easily accessible and excellent via WhatsApp and later email. Payment easy. Transfers from lodge happened seamlessly. Interaction with lady at the office lovely (sorry I didn’t get her name in all the preparation). We were with our two sons (11 & 12 yrs - one with a broken arm!) so i think that is why we joined the rafting a little later and further along at rapid 11. Transfer took us to top of climb down with reliable guide showing the way. We were then met and briefed well by Pumba (THANK YOU) Joined the raft with OG as guide/captain! Rapids 11-24. OG super calm and experienced. Another trainee and safety kayak in the water together with Pumba. Highlight was floating and swimming down the river in our life jackets for one stretch. Felt like heaven. Rapids were navigated beautifully and safely. Steep climb up at the end for sure. We wire rock shoes. I would say best is old trainers/takkies for the whole day that you can happy to swim and hike in. Rock shoes were my I but a bit slippery for the hike. Lunch and cold drinks were most welcome! And delicious! THANK YOU. Respect that the office and vehicles are not the fanciest: but the rafts are great quality and in excellent condition and guides/safety staff of the highest standard. Priorities are straight. The ONLY thing I would suggest is re-introducing the whole crew clearly when you have rafters joining halfway. We weren’t sure who the other guys were besides OG and Pumba because we hadn’t been there from the start.
Rafting with Shockwave Adventures is an amazing experience. They are true professionals, and with them, my husband and I, along with our two children aged 10 and 12, felt safe and could fully focus on the adventure. I highly recommend them!
The experience we had with this group was amazing. The rafting itself was immensely fun and thrilling. We had two boats because of the size of our family, which included 6 kids under the age of 14. So if you have younger kids, you can still do this. The bigger challenge for some of us was the hike down to and up from the river to the top. Just know that it will kick your butt, and it is a climb. You do need to be in pretty good shape to manage it. You feel rewarded at the end, but there are a few traitorous parts. The guides are fantastic. Tip them well. Thank you, TT, JB, Mr. Nice Guy, and everyone who helped make this a phenomenal experience for our families.
What a great trip! With my two sons (12-13 year) going down the rapids was superb!! Very friendly and professional staf, they are very careful with the kids. Rock jump, swimming, jokes, paddling, great lunch, lots of water, great staff, safe, good gear for kids etc If I come back to Vic falls you will see me again shockwave adventures!!
We had an awesome day out with JB, Pumba and the crew. They are a fun, energetic bunch who made sure we enjoyed the day. At the start we did a safety briefing with some practice drills before attempting rapids 11-24. They shared some info about sights and sounds on the river before we attempted the hike out of the gorge. This was a steep vertical hike but we were rewarded with some cold beers/drinks at the top and a lovely chicken braai. All in all a great day out!
What an amazing experience, with a fun, knowledgeable and an awesome bunch of guides and staff members! They were accomodating, made jokes, had fun, safe, made us enjoy the day even more! Spectacular views, a wild ride. Kids and adults loved this rafting experience! They have a photographer and videographer that captured our day so brilliantly and was worth every cent!!!! Highly recommend. Just a side note, the walk up is tough for someone not strong or unfit, but the guides are there to help those that need it!
Very fun, amazing guides, and awesome food. Very much recommended! We drove through a traditional African village, met a few natives and enjoyed a fun drive.
The whitewater rafting trip was WONDERFUL. From beginning to end everything was marvelous. The staff was very friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and fun. I cannot say enough great things about our trip. They made certain we had as much fun as possible while keeping us safe at all times. I am very happy there was a photographer on the trip with us, we chose to purchase video and photos. We had the trip of a lifetime and the photos to help us remember.
This is the second time I have done the rapids tour , and a huge amount of fun. The guys are so professional and make the whole experience fun. The climb out of the gorge is not to be underestimated but on the whole an amazing day on the water and with stunning scenery. They are the guys to use for white water rafting
Wonderful day on the Zambezi. Well organized, safety concious, high water rafting trip under the leadership of Jay Bee. Thanks for an enjoyable and memorable day!
I am afraid of heights and being under water so when I saw rafting suitable for children it seemed the perfect choice. I was not disappointed. The shockwaves team could not have been better. I had full confidence in their ability and safety of the boat. Of course it is thrilling but never felt dangerous. There was opportunity for those who wanted to jump into the rapids or off of rocks to do so. Lunch and drinks provided. The hardest part is the climb back up to the top but one of the crew patiently helped. Another bonus is the drive to the park through genuine local villages- saving you the expense of another tour company showing you some staged village. Could not recommend highly enough.
It was a really wonderful experience! The adrenaline was just so so intense. I would do it again and again. Special mention Mr Moyo for being a wonderful guide and captain.
The trip was amazingly coordinated by Shockwave! Thanks you guys! It first seemed scary but they made us feel safe!
What a pleasure to deal with Shockwave from beginning to end! From the online booking to the last goodbye we had one phenomenal experience. I cannot recommend the Shockwave Team enough! They are the best of the best. There is just no end to them, truly a team of people and an experience my family and I will never forget. They looked after us like we were family, with tremendous care and professionalism. Thank you for making phenomenal memories with us you guys!
A thrilling on the edge experience that we will cherish for a long time. Did this one with my wife and two teen daughters. Our first time at river rafting and boy did we have fear and fun in our faces all at once. We loved it! Philani and his team at Shockwave make it a safe enjoyable family experience that became the highlight of our holiday. The entire activity becomes an adventure from the hike down to the Batoka gorge, riding the rapids on edge and to hiking back up to an awesome lunch in the natural beauty of the bush. A big tick off our bucket list. The action pics package is a must.
I am a tour operator who booked Shockwave Adventures for a private family rafting day trip. None of the other river operators will take children on the river. However, Philani has many years of experience on the world's biggest rivers and is fastidious about safety with children. From the start, Benko was extremely helpful and when I called with questions, Philani answered them all patiently and comprehensively. Before the trip, I visited them in their offices to reconfirm all elements of the trip. My colleague did a half day of rafting with them in preparation and she came back singing their praises. When it came to the family trip, Philani and Benko came to the hotel themselves to fit life vests and helmets to the kids and to answer any questions the family had. On the day of the rafting, Philani guided the trip himself and there were several safety guides on the water. The clients felt extremely safe and repeatedly applauded the operation. It was the highlight of their stay in Victoria Falls. I would absolutely recommend Shockwave Adventures for a family rafting trip.
This trip was awesome…fast, fun, thrilling and our guides were just brilliant. Our 9 year old son loved it as did mum and dad. Totally recommend this!
We went as two families in one raft. The guides were very experienced and found the whole experience to be well planned. We felt safe in the hands of the guides who all knew exactly what they were doing . They guided us through grade 5 rapids safely. Thete were also two safety kayaks in front snd behind thecraft in case anyone fell out. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip had a chance for a swim and a bonus fantastic lunch at the end. I could not recommend enough. Absolutely superb and thrilling day delivered also with a sense of humour !
Wow! What a fantastic day rafting the Zambezi River with Shockwave. I can't recommend it enough! The staff was so kind, friendly, and helpful. After being driven to the starting point and receiving our life jackets, helmets, & paddle, we hiked down to the river. I was a bit apprehensive - I really didn't want to fall in but our boat guides TT and Terrance clearly were experts with safety in mind. They really took care of us. I thought that I'd prefer the boat with the more rigid frame where the guide has 2 paddles. Although we chose the other boat, clearly both boats were safe and fun as seen through Tambo's great video. The 10 year old in our boat had a ball! (I also liked that Timbu the photographer was in a kayak ready to help if any of us had fallen out.) My tips - drink plenty of water (I didn't and it hit me hiking out of the gorge in the heat at the end.) Wear shoes that can get wet and do well hiking. Bring a strap for sunglasses - I was glad that I had mine. BUY the PHOTOS and VIDEO package at the end. (It is so worth it!! Tambu took amazing photos at multiple sections of rapids and created an awesome video. He'd paddle ahead of us, climb onto the rocks, take photos/video of our boats going through the rapids, then kayak by us again to get to the next rapids ahead of us...again and again. ) We had so much fun with our new friends on the river. Thank you so much to everyone who made our day so great!
As the only river rafting company in Vic Falls that caters for kids under 12 we had an absolutely amazing experience. Guides are extremely professional, rapids were so much fun and the video and photos in the end just superb. Highly recommended.
These guys were just awesome. After we had a disaster with our hotel (AVani) telling us our teenage girls couldn't raft at this time of the year Shockwave were able to sort us a trip and saved the day. They were just amazing. Everything felt safe - they looked after us all - very well organised - good value for money and all the staff were helpful and friendly. We loved it. The BBQ food at the end was lovely and they worked really hard to accomodate our times and what we wanted to do. The only thing to mention is that its a really steep climb in and out of the gorge. We didn't mind and found it all part of the adventure and experience but some may find it difficult and especially if you are not expecting it.
Absolutely brilliant- Shockwave provides the most amazing experience. Tabs(Guide), Tambo (Video) & Silent (Safety) were amazing ,the best team ever. They made the experience a total highlight of our African holiday. They were hands on every step of the way, this is a must when visiting the falls. Totally recommend these guys noted above - we will be back & only head down the mighty Zambezi with them. Special mention to Tambo for the pictures & video we love the video you created ❤️. Thankyou for all your help Tambo I could not have done this without you 😘
Excellent rafting experience, very safe for family and kids even though there were some class 5 rapids. And they provided exceptional and professional service. Highly recommend this tour to all families!
Awesome trip the river is so much fun for kids and adults and feels safe yet scary in parts (in a good way). The hike up the mountain after is no joke it’s long and strenuous and very steep, but the guides walk with you and help you as you take your time. The lunch once on top is very delicious!
We had a brilliant day with shockwaves. They picked us up from our hotel and all our bags which was a great help as we had checked out of the hotel. The guys were very friendly and helpful. All the safety gear is provided. It’s a steep walk down to the bottom of the gorge but any help needed was given. The rafting itself was so much fun and they had a safety and photographer kayak with us. Each rapid was explained before we entered, one we went through in the water. Kids ages 15 &13 loved it. It’s a steep climb out but manageable and they give you water. At the top we had a well earned lunch (chicken, rice, vegetable stew - delicious!). They then dropped us back at our next hotel. We had a brilliant day and I’d definitely do again.
We could only do the lower rapids as the water was too high. This said it was an amazing ride down over 13 sections of rapids with lots of excitement and fun. The guides were friendly and always cracking jokes which added to the day. Great food and lots of drinks included. Steep climb out of the gorge was hard work though.
A very good and entertaining rafting experience, really loved it! Halal food, oranges and water were given, the oranges were given during the raft and the main course was given once we had finished.
We had such an incredible day on the mighty Zambezi with the Shockwaves team. They looked after our family brilliantly from guiding our 9 year old daughter carefully up and down the gorge, to ensuring we navigated the rapids as safely as possible, to providing an unforgettable family experience. I couldn't recommend this company more highly for taking your family onto the river for a day that both parents and children will enjoy! Thank you team!
Shockwave Adventures did an absolutely amazing job with our white water rafting trip down the Zambezi. The guides were incredible and we felt completely comfortable with our entire family participating, including our 12 yr old daughter. The rapids did not disappoint! We would definitely recommend them to any families with children wanting to white water raft.
The rafting at Zambezi with Shockwave is unforgettable experience you should not miss especially if you are a family with kids, you are not untouched by watersports and you are eager to have a common strong experience and fun together. The Shockwave team is very friendly, helpful, professional and organized and also is able to react on your specific needs. The Shockwave is the only one in Victoria Falls who accept the Zambezi rafting with kids below 15 years and you do not need to worry at all – all is safe and the Shockwave team is ready to make your trip amusing and enjoyable as you wish – either fully as part of the crew or just sitting (kids). We (family with 3 kids - 10 to 14 years old, doing rafting and canoeing with kids since their early years) have spent an incredible rafting day with a Shockwave team which has been simply perfect from the beginning till the end. Starting with pick up, availability of full equipment – wet suits, life jackets, helmets – necessary kid’s sizes available, perfect instructions and practicing of the maneuvers in expected situations during the trip. The ride safety is enhanced by the “rescue” kayak who is ready to pick up from water potential “man/woman overboard”. The rafting itself was experience of a life time with lot of fun and jokes together with information about river and surrounding. At the first rapids „the raft captain“ tested our skills and after that we got into the world of waves, water splashes and whirlpools in full speed. The ride was full of laughter and jokes but also interesting talks with all the crew, so you can learn more about the life in the country. Smooth and safe ride was finished with a delicious freshly prepared lunch (thanks chef for the yummy chicken and gorgeous salad) and cold drinks where we share the after feelings together. On top you can return to this experience in personally edited video and photos taken during the trip. Thanks to all team specially to OG, Liberty and Tambu! We will remember forever!
Thank you for an incredible day. The professionalism and care was 1st class. The fun on the river was out of this world. A great day for all ages, and we strongly recommend.
Given the time of year, we could only do high water starting at rapid 11 and ended at rapid 28 (full day, high water). Also, given that our daughter is 14, it seemed that most of the rafting trip operators required minimum ages of 15 or 16. Shockwave Adventures was the only rafting company I could find that would take a 14 yo on the trip. The TripAdvisor reviews were also very positive. The rafting itself was great. We had a great time. It was a trip just for our family of four with two training guides on the raft with us and the captain, Captain OG. Reserving the trip was easy and communication with the company was easy through email and WhatsApp. They were very patient with my questions. They were also flexible; when we explained that my daughter didn’t have a Kaza visa (see separate story under Zambia forum), they adjusted the pickup time by an hour to ensure we had sufficient time to get her visa from Zimbabwe immigration. When I expressed concern about the cold (when we were in South Africa it was very cold), they assured us that they would provide wetsuits. The wetsuits were more like neoprene rashguards but they helped. The weather in Zimbabwe/Zambia was definitely warmer than in South Africa and so even without the wetsuits we probably would have been fine. We all had long sleeve rashguards. Since we were staying in Zambia, Shockwave arranged for a driver to pick us up at our hotel in Livingstone, the Avani, and take us to the Zimbabwe border. There we were met by another driver who helped us get through immigration to enter Zimbabwe with our Kaza visas and purchase a Kaza visa for our daughter. Once we were done with immigration, we crossed over into Zimbabwe and boarded an open-air truck and met Captain OG. I had forgotten that we needed to pay $10/person to raft the river and that was only payable in cash. Since we didn’t have enough cash, we were driven to an ATM in Victoria Falls so that my husband could get the cash and then we paid our fee and were on our way. Getting to the start of the rafting trip was a much longer drive than anticipated. It was probably an hour away, much of it on a very rocky dirt road in a truck that seemed to be driven too fast at times. The truck was open and none of us at seat belts. The truck was a bit top heavy with the rafting equipment on top. It made my husband and me a bit nervous. Once we finally got to our destination, we were provided with our life jackets and paddles. We were also introduced to the photographer and videographer who told us that for $60 he could send us pictures and video. Seemed like a good deal and so we elected to do it. We’re glad we did to capture the experience. We received the link to the photos and video the next day. If you read all the TripAdvisor reviews about the hike in and out, believe it. I underestimated the difficulty and treacherous nature of this hike. My husband and I are in pretty good shape and it was tough for us getting down. Coming up was even harder. Our son and daughter made it up fine but my daughter said later that at some points, it seemed so steep that if you leaned backwards “you could literally die”. I have no idea if the path that we were on was different because we were going at high water time versus low water time. We didn’t see any other rafts on the river other than ours. Maybe if you are rafting at low water time, when you start at rapid 1 and end at rapid 21 or something the paths are better maintained? In any case, please don’t under-estimate the difficulty of the hike in and out and the long drive to get there. The actual rafting was only probably about half of the day. We were picked up at 9:30 and we got back to Victoria Falls a little after 4. At one point during the trip, we got to the area of the river called The Narrows. We were told that at this time of year, there is a whirlpool effect that could suck the raft down and so we had to hike around. The hiking around consisted of walking over, up and down rocks. I have no idea how Captain OG did it without shoes. We were all wearing Keens. Despite that, as we approached the raft, I stepped on a rock wrong and turned my ankle. I was able to get back into the raft and rafted the rest of the trip (about half the trip was left at this point), but my ankle was swollen like a grapefruit. At the end of the trip, there was no way I was going to be able to hike back out. Captain OG wrapped my foot in an ace bandage from their first aid kit. Two porters had to carry me on their back to get me out. They were amazing. There was a very good lunch waiting for us at the top of the gorge, as well as drinks. The porters deflated the raft and carried everything back up the same path that we were on and then we loaded up for the long drive back to Victoria Falls. It was about an hour. The long drive back to town was excruciating for my ankle. We had wanted to see Victoria Falls from the Zimbabwe side of the border and so we asked Shockwave if we could delay our pickup at the border until 6 so that the family could go to the park. They were happy to accommodate. My family went alone and I sat on the curb in front of the curio market across the way. To Shockwave’s credit, after dropping us off at the park entrance, Captain OG came by later to check on me and waited in their truck until my family returned from visiting the falls. We limped back across the border on our own to wait for our driver, who arrived within minutes of the agreed time and brought us back to the Avani. Again, Shockwave as a company seems very good; their equipment was good and everyone seemed well-trained. There was the camera guy and a safety person in a kayak in case someone fell out. We felt safe at all times. There were literally five Shockwave guys on our trip for the four of us. The followup from the company has also been very good. They seemed genuinely concerned about me and I’m grateful they were able to get me out of the gorge. I just think that our rafting of the river at this time of the year wasn’t optimal but Shockwave helped us make the most of it.
We wanted to experience white water rafting on the Zambezi River while in Zimbabwe but were hesitant because 2 of our kids are still young- 7 and 5. MD from Shockwaves catered the experience perfectly to thrill our older kids while keeping the younger 2 safely inside the boat. We had a great time! The rapids were just thrilling enough and they made sure to find the perfect places for us to float down the river and even do some (small) cliff jumping. We recommend these guys 100%!
We had a great experience rafting with the Shockwave guys. All of them were lovely, friendly, helpful and guided us so well. Before they explained everything to our satisfaction, we went down to the river and took time also to explain things to us and assured us, how its going to be. I was so scared because that was my first time but knowing the guys were there 100% i end up enjoying the rafting. The guys at Shockwave are just the best. At first we thought the price was too high but am seeing what guys were doing before and after the rafting. It worth it paying that much or even more. Thank you very much and keep up the good work.
The most rapids per minute on the water ever done after loads of rafting in North America and Asia. Shockwave are very professional and enthusiastic. Take safety seriously and you having fun almost as seriously. You must buy their video and photos as they are amazingly well done. The guides require 6 years training before captaining the boat and have whitewater experience around the world. It is a nice long steep hike down and back up, so take your light hiking shoes.
Enjoyed every moment of it. The guys were very professional and knowledgeable, and very patient as it was our first time. The lunch prepared for us was delicious and the views were beautiful. Would definitely recommend to anyone interested.
Everything about this day was perfect. The office staff is helpful and supportive, the guide kind and patient, every single guy on the raft was fun and helpful (it was just my 10-year-old daughter and me and seven Shockwave guys) guys, and the chef made a lunch to die for. The rafting itself was amazing, and the views beautiful. I cannot recommend this trip, and this outfitter, highly enough. I feel like we made friends for life and can't wait to go back and do a longer trip!
With 2 children (11 & 14) we wanted to find an activity for us to do all together. From my very first enquiry until dropping us back to our accomodation I was impressed with their service and knowledge. Children start at rapid 11, however we were told to come in the day before so the guides can check out Miss 11 to see if she will be able to start at rapid 1. It was a yes! We were picked up before 7:30 and taken to the office to sign paper work then it was off. Be warned the climb down and again at the end up was hard. It is steep and nothing to hold on to except your oar. It is not a piece of cake. However, once in the water it was well worth it. We had a great time, the kids loved it and had a blast when our guide said jump in! It was great to swim down the river! We never felt unsafe at any point in time. There was always a guide on a kayak ahead of us and before every rapid we were told where he would be if we fell out. While we were swimming he was always close by. Lunch was delicious and very filling. The drinks at the end were well needed! I’m not sure what else to say but thank you to all those who made our Zambezi River rafting an enjoyable, fun and adventurous day!
Firstly just wanted to thank Shockwave Adventures for an unbelievable experience today rafting the Victoria Falls on the Zambezi with our 3 children. We had an amazing adventure and what an exhilarating experience!!! Secondly the guides were very knowledgeable and excellent with our kids and went above and beyond to ensure we had a safe and memory making experience. The only pitty is that the trip had to come to an end. Will recommend this adventure to anyone considering a rafting adventure. Be prepared to get wet and enjoy the opportunities to jump into the warm Zambezi river and float in the river. The safety crew is always in close proximity. Also you may want to take some closes / shoes with you and place in the bags provided before setting off - their are people at the end point that carry the raft & equipment all the way up from the river and they are keen to exchange their arts and crafts for clothes & shoes and / or money.
My family went on the rapids trip, two adults, two young boys (11,13) and a daughter (16). We were a bit worried at first of the rapids but there was no need!! Absolutely amazing fun! They offer to take photos and videos too so you can also capture the moments forever. Our tour guide was friendly, funny, very knowledgeable and was a very good instructor. The kids all loved it and went head first into the waves laughing and smiling. Highly recommend!!
Sorry it took so long to write this, but you all deserve a big thank you for taking my family especially grandkids youngest 9 yrs on this memorable experience in August 2019. It was one of their highlights and can't seem to stop seeing the video over and over again and see all the excitement, fun, danger, and especially the adrenaline rushing through. Your staff and yourself were great and a special thanks to all in making this a memorable one for them. Keep up the being #1
