Our Guide was Eddie throughout our stay in Zimbabwe and he drove us to the Botswana border and handed us into the care of Free and Major, our Jeep drivers/rangers for the Safari in Chobe NP. Eddie was an excellent caring guide and so were Free and Major. We were in a group of 16 from Australia and 1 from USA. Everything flowed smoothly and there were no hiccups. We were disappointed that we didnt see rhino or leopard during our safari of Chobe NP but nevertheless the other animals, especially the elephants did not disappoint us. Free and Major served us a lovely morning tea right in the heart of the NP. The buffet, lunch which was included, was also very nice and the safari cruise on the Chobe River was excellent.
Heaps of elephants, giraffes, etc. Hippos, buffalo, and crocodiles featured on the river cruise part of the day trip.
We drove to Chobe from our base in Victoria Falls. It was an interesting drive. Once we went through the border we boarded our Safari vehicle. Our guide was wonderful and very knowledgeable. We saw lots of animals but no lions. Our lunch was included and very good. It also included a boat cruise so again lots of animals.
Fantastic day trip with a safari drive and river cruise. Great guides, fantastic lunch and elephants a highlight
Very beautiful, memorable day , saw hippopos, elephants, scenic
It was a beautiful trip starting with a boat safari on Chobe river. We could see many elephants, hippos, crocodiles, impalas, zebras, some jackals and hyenas. After lunch we went on a game drive in the park, and it was perfect too. Our guide, Moses really know every bit of the park and we just sit and enjoyed the ride.
It was funtastic tour. The guide is knowledgeable and explained very well
Absolutely amazing trip and experience. Arnold is a wonderful guide. He worked with us and accommodated our requests, booking dinners, fixing mobile, etc. A beautiful, friendly man. Chobe National Park, the river cruise, Victoria Falls - all excellent and highly recommend.
The Chobe Day Trip was spectacular. We we are able to see lions and cheetah which are very elusive and rare. The tour guide really brought us to good places to spot the animals.
We had an amazing day in Chobe National Park. The land and river safaris were outstanding and the guides extremely knowledgeable. We saw lions and cheetah, which was incredible
Beautiful Botswana Safari and river cruise. Worth the visit. Would recommend it to anyone. Not the tour operators fault but the delays at the border on both the Zimbabwe and Botswana Customs was 2 hours which meant the safari was rushed. Perhaps an earlier departure time would rectify this? For the ladies, take your own toilet paper as the facilities at the border are lacking.
There is an opportunity to see live animals in their natural habitat including lions, giraffes, hippopotamuses, elephants and much more. I saw 3 of the big five on my safari. A must see!
The day trip was interesting. The driver was very informative and tried very hard to get as close as possible to any animals we saw. The elephants and giraffes were awesome. The lunch was delicious. The cruise was good and the guides were very informative. Unfortunately it rained for most of trip so we didn't see many animals other then hippos and crocodiles.
The Victoria Falls are amazing. Loved the guide and his organisation of our tour. We went to Chobe in Bottswana and had a lovely meal and a cruise which was worth it even though it rained.
The entire trip was amazing. We got to see so many animals & our tour guide Eddie was fantastic. He was fun and full of knowledge
Instructions not clear. Needs counting lessons. Why were we taken to the airport 5 hours before our flight when the trip instructions were pickup 3 hours before our flight. Not happy!!
Excellent guide Matt was very informative, receptive to questions and helpful. A great day - both land and river components were well worthwhile.
I booked this tour with African travel, their subcontractor in Botswana was Kalahari travel. I could of bought this tour directly with kalahari tours abd cheaper. but did not because I want to do safari drive first and river cruise in the afternoon. Instead I end up with Kalahari tours anyway. Trip was very poorly designed. wf wasted time at the border while Kalahari were waiting for 4 people who booked several days tour with them. during boat ride we hardly see any animals. and we end up doing safari drive from 1pm in unbearable heat for 4 hours while big cats slept somewhere in the park. anyway. never get day chobe tour that started with river cruise first. actually do yourself a favor and do not do one day tour at all. get yourself transfer to kasane. find inexpensive lodge( they do exist in chobe) for 2 nights instead of staying more then 2 nights in the falls and get yourself proper morning or late aftegnol. safari drive for $60-70. it would be just a bit more. especially if it is 2 of you( transfer could be found for $100 for 3 people) and you will have much better experience.
The organisation of our day trip was very well executed. Superb engagement and support from our guides. Really enjoyed the Chobe River safari and Park drive in the afternoon. I would definitely recommend and look forward to using Africa travel tours in the future.
I went back & forth between the different companies for this excursion, reading all the reviews, and while this one was a scosh more expensive… IT WAS WORTH IT. I picked it for the smaller group size. It started with just my friend & I getting picked up from our hotel, on the drive to the boarder we saw giraffes, impala, water buffalo & waterbuck. Picked up a couple at the boarder & switched drivers-Thizah- our amaaaazing guide. The boarder crossing had multiple steps and I’m glad we had someone telling us what to do. We stopped at a cafe for coffee/tea & pastries (included for us, tho I didn’t read that anywhere. Nice treat). Picked up 3 more ppl at the cafe and we were off! Unlike the other tours, we started with the boat cruise. We got close (but respectable distance) to sooo many hippos & water buffalo. Parked right on top of a crocodile lol. And watched a bull elephant wade across the river to the island and bath himself. Thizah pointed out a bunch of bird species too which we appreciated. He dropped everyone off back at the cafe, while my friend & I got toted over to Mowana- gorgeous resort for lunch. We then started our land safari, coming upon loads of giraffes and elephants. Then Thizah was like “I know a place” and zipped us over to a pride of lions!! It was our 4th game drive this trip and hadn’t seen any big cats yet, I could’ve cried how close we were to them! THEN he pedaled to the metal us to a leopard spotting! Already about 8-10 jeeps were already there, but the guides have a system so that everyone gets a chance to look. Not only was the leopard just chillin under a tree close by, she walked right by our jeep! We followed her for a bit too. Incredible.
We have just returned from a 15 Day Inspiring Vacations tour of South Africa, Botswana and Zimbabwe.. our guide for 3 days name was Cryface and he was prompt and very helpful with every part of making sure we were looked after… from airport to accomodation, guide in Victoria Falls and even guide to Botswana nothing was too much trouble.. thanks for looking after us…
"Absolutely breathtaking experience at Chobe National Park!!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 I'm still pinching myself after witnessing the majestic elephants playing in the water. It was like they were having the time of their lives! 🐘💦 The sheer size and gentle nature of these giants left me speechless. Our guide took us to the perfect spot, and we spent hours watching them splash and frolic. The scenery, wildlife, and expert guides made for an unforgettable adventure. If you're a wildlife enthusiast, Chobe is a MUST-VISIT! 🌿🦒 Don't miss the chance to see these incredible creatures up close! 😍 5 stars isn't enough!"
Loved it. Our guide was Gee and he was really knowledgeable and had heaps of stories too. Lots of wildlife. Lunch was delicious too.
The arrangements made by Africa Travel Tours were top notch. A representative picked me up at my hotel in Livingston and drove me to the border between Zambia and Botswana. I was met by another representative and driven to the location of the tour. After coffee we explored the Chobe River by boat and saw crocodiles, elephants, rhinos and impalas. After lunch we went on a game drive and saw giraffes and more elephants and impalas.
Spectacular tour, great landscapes and animal encounters, elephants, giraffes, antelopes, buffalos, hippos,
Had an incredible experience with my Mum exploring the natural beauty of Vic Falls and its associated natural features and wildlife. Thanks to Afrika Tours for their great service for all our transfers to and fro airport and activities/excursions throughout the duration of our visit. It was reassuring to always have someone readily to attend to our calls each time we needed help or support. Apart from Chobe Trip, we also had Guided Tour of The Falls as our very first activity then the Sunset Cruise followed by a Day Trip to Chobe which got us really knackered but would definitely do it again. I personally learnt a lot about the unreported and interesting facts about my country Zimbabwe and its neighbours. Was thrilled to see many wildlife at close proximity in their natural habitat. We also visited the Crocodile Farm with crocs, with all types of snakes and caged lions. Enjoyed the crocodile kebab and baobab mousse for lunch at The Lookout Cafe. On our last night we had dinner at Boma where we enjoyed the drum show which was amazing and enhanced my pride of being African. All thanks to Afrika Tours for tailoring their service to our needs especially to appease my mother. Thanks to Anias for taking his time during our Tour of the Falls and taking on the role of photographer to capture the best moments with my mother. I would definitely use Afrika Tours again and recommend anyone. Keep up the great service👏🏾
